I wrote this song after Trump was inaugurated. I've had a past of creating aggressive songs that react to political moments, but for this song I wanted to make something somewhat more timeless; in the sense that this moment, this character and these issues are not completely unique to our time. To me, Trump symbolizes something that we often see in history. This song was prompted by this current political moment, but it describes something much more widespread throughout history.
