September 17, 2016 by N3 On The Track in Music

Following the successful release of ‘Changes Featuring River’ and showing a unique and diverse production sound, Oliver Nelson is back with yet another original in true Oliver Nelson nu-disco glory with vocals from UK soul singer ‘Kaleem Taylor’, titled ‘Ain’t A Thing’ released on Hoxton based label Perfect Havoc.

‘Ain’t A Thing’ brings back Oliver’s well known classic nu-disco sound that has racked him up over 50 million plays on Soundcloud and over 30 million on YouTube with remixes such as Tove Lo, Marina & The Diamonds, Childish Gambino, Zayn Malik and more. Kaleem Taylor adds his touch to the record, which makes these pair a perfect fix for a collaboration.

The track was exclusively released on Toolroom’s Croatia Poolside 2016 on September 9th which was also mixed by Oliver himself and released on physical and digital formats.

2016 has been a busy year for young Nelson as Oliver shows no sign of slowing down, with shows in San Francisco in July at Perfect Havoc Disco at 1015 Folsom, followed by a back to back appearance at Kitsune with his fellow Perfect Havoc buddy ‘Tobtok’ at Miranda Club (Ace Hotel) followed by up-coming shows at OWL Festival in South Korea, London on November 5th at Perfect Havoc Disco, City Zabrano, and ShowCase in Paris in October (Date TBA). Jet 2 - Crystalline Stone (feat. illRhythmic)

September 17, 2016 by N3 On The Track in Music

"Crystalline Stone" is produced by illRhythmic and also featuring illRhythmic. The song is track 3 to the recently released album "Lie out Loud" by Jet 2, which is available on iTunes, Spotify, and many other digital retailers.

https://geo.itunes.apple.com/us/album/lie-out-loud/id1133096681?mt=1&app=music

“I never let them tell me there are any limits,” says an enthusiastic Jet 2 in an in-house interview with Len Springs. Jet 2 discovered his passion for music at an early age through playing drums with his father Jerri Jheto, and listening to several genres of music growing up. Ultimately, this passion led Jet 2 to become the drum technician for Akon where he continually learned from experiences out on tour. Jet 2 began his passion for lyricism at Dorsey High School in Los Angeles, and his overall theme in his music is uncanny truth and confidence in sticking to what you believe in.

Born to Nigerian Parents, Hip-Hop was not a part of Jonathan Ihejeto’s life growing up, but the culture would soon become a way of life for the MC. As an early youth, artist such as 2Pac Shakur, Snoop Dogg, The Notorious B.I.G., and Eminem helped shape Jet 2’s love for music, and allowed for Jet to find a unique love for the genre, and the culture. Jet 2 can recall many instances which he; even as a six year old, would just fall in love with the radio. “My dad would drop me off at school every day, and on the way to school would be the only time he allowed me to listen to the radio. He wasn't too fond of Hip-Hop, but for some reason, I just gravitated towards it. Whether it was listening to California Love from 2Pac, or Juicy from The Notorious B.I.G., 92.3, and later 100.3 the beat really generated my love for hip-hop. When my mom didn't let me purchase 'Vol 2.. Life and Times by Jay-Z because of the parental advisory, I knew one day I would be on the other side of the fence.” A great student all throughout his academic life, Jet 2’s life was geared towards his academic success early on, but his love for Hip-Hop is what guided him as he grew older.

Osmo Feat. Ayelle - Take Your Time

September 17, 2016 by N3 On The Track in Music

As featured in Mixmag’s January 2016 newcomer edition in a 4-page story about the rise of nu-disco talent from Uppsala, Hoxton based label ‘Perfect Havoc’ releases the second track from newcomer ‘Osmo’ titled Take Your Time featuring vocals from UK singer Ayelle!

Osmo, real name Oscar Modig, with archetypically Swedish blond, bright blue-eyed looks and a surname that translates as ‘brave’, is Perfect Havoc’s latest nu-disco talent!

Over the last year, Osmo has been concentrating on remixes for the likes of ‘Canvas’, ‘Soul Gem’, ‘Tobtok’ ‘We Are Legends’ and ‘Televisor’ and accumulated over 750,000 plays on Soundcloud and over 600,000 plays on YouTube.

With the good weather still blossoming, Osmo’s Take Your Time Featuring Ayelle is the perfect way to keep the summer lasting. Ayelle delivers a smooth Scandinavian like vocal over Osmo’s infectious nu-disco sound and the perfect club drop for the chorus!

The single was exclusively released on September 9th as part of the Mark Knight Toolroom Records Croatia Poolside 2016 mixed by fellow Perfect Havoc artist Oliver Nelson and is now officially being released on Hoxton based Perfect Havoc as Osmo’s second single.

Take Your Time Featuring Ayelle is available September 16th across all digital stores! Fans can also see Osmo live at Perfect Havoc Disco on November 5th in London at City Zabrano. Tickets available here: http://bit.ly/2cf7Ft1

7AM / Seven AM - Frankie's Got A Problem

September 17, 2016 by N3 On The Track in Music

Making his debut, 7AM is a passionate new artist with a goal set on being the new standard. Combining elements of hip hop, pop and rnb into his production and vocal ranges, 7AM will be a force to be reckoned with. His new single Frankie's Got A Problem is a song that shows the perspective of a toxic love relationship combined with a drug addiction and all the emotions involved. 7AM describes the metaphor of a toxic love relationship in correlation to a drug addiction in the song. This may feel good to you at the time but rarely ends on a good note.

JSWISS & Jared Evan - "Glass Case"

September 17, 2016 by N3 On The Track in Music

Two of New York’s finest young talents, JSWISS and Jared Evan, connect on the soulful and meditative “Glass Case,” which is the second leak taken from Leedz Edutainment’s upcoming Eastern Standard compilation.

Where Philly native Mega Ran dropped his hard-nosed head-nodder, “The East Coast,” as the project’s inaugural single, JSWISS and Evan kick back and get introspective on “Glass Case.” Despite being so different topically, there’s a connection between the two cuts, which is the strong production of The Arcitype.

For this track, The Arcitype supplies his collaborators with a melodic Boom bap canvas, which they definitely use to their advantage. JSWISS’ rhymes dive deep into the concept of being pigeonholed, both in art and in life, while Evan’s vocals evoke some emotional and inner turmoil. It’s a fresh turn for JSWISS especially, given that he just dropped a summer-ready new EP, No Music. Evan appears to be in the lab too, though, if his tweets are any indication. And if not, his fans have a lot to love on “Glass Case” (and here’s hoping he and JSWISS work together again!).

“Glass Case” is now available for stream and download through all major digital retailers. Stay on the lookout for Eastern Standard, which is due out soon via Leedz Edutainment!

The Recipe - Bandana

September 17, 2016 by N3 On The Track in Music

@therecipedxb -across all social platforms

The Recipe - Bandana (Produced by Brvnjes)

· Produced by UK based producer and long time collaborator, Brvnjes

· Lead single for The Recipe’s album titled Funerals & Purgatory

· A video for Bandana will also be released soon

"Bandana highlights today's hiphop culture where masks are being worn everyday in order to fit in and sound relevant. " - The Recipe

“Courage is being yourself in a world that tells you to be someone else.” - The Recipe

We all wear masks, perhaps not in the literal sense, but masks nonetheless. The Recipe explore this notion in their latest single titled Bandana. The 'bandana' represents the masks we wear. Sometimes these masks help us oppress who we truly are and sometimes we use them to express ourselves freely.

The hook says it all:

“Barack Obama, he rock a bandana

Kanye West, he rock a bandana

They were nobody till they rocked a bandana

If you’re about that life then rock a bandana.”

These prominent figures are perfect examples of people that must play a role in order to succeed in their respective fields, people that must wear bandanas to give you the image you expect.

Dewon - Good Feeling

September 14, 2016 by N3 On The Track in Music

Stephen Cheeks, also known as "Dewon" (Born March 22, 1992), is an American singer, songwriter, and producer. Born and raised in the small town of Ettrick, Virginia, Dewon began his journey in music at an early age. He started playing the drums at the age of four, and later went on to learn the piano at age eight. Growing up in the church, he displayed his many talents, not just through musical instruments, but with his voice as well. Dewon began recording his own music by the age of 12, from there on he knew what he was created to do. As he matured in age, and in his music as well, people started recognizing that this kid really has talent. It wasn't an easy journey. In 2009, Stephen was in a major car accident, many people would look at him and wonder how he's still alive. Dewon knows he's "here for a reason", music is his reason. With every song, every melody, everything he does is with passion. Dewon is an artist that believes in longevity, and his biggest goal with every song is to make it timeless. He breathes and bleeds music, and with his many gifts, passion, and hard work, his future is very bright. Evolving as an artist is important to him, relevant as he transposes from stage to film.

Najii Person - Personal

September 14, 2016 by N3 On The Track in Music

Najii gets “Personal” with his latest release. To know the St. Louis based rapper, is to know his ability to play on words, and although he’s switched up the tune, his word play is still immaculate in this tale of love lost.

Personal explores Najii’s romantic side as he gets to know a woman intimately, and eventually looses her – all the while falling more in love with her. Although he is head-over-heels, his laid back cadence insinuates the pride of a man, especially in the midst of a woman who is also prideful. In this change of perspective, Najii brings you back to your most vulnerable moment with a significant other even though you swore you didn’t take it personal.
