Koven - Lasting Part II

Back in July 2015, talented duo Koven released the monumentally successful 'Sometimes We Are' on Viper Recordings. After taking a break to release with Monstercat in the US, Koven are back in full force with the first single off their new Retrospective Compilation Album 'Lasting Part II'. The new compilation will reflect back on the works of Koven over the past half a decade, breathing new light into some of the duo’s most acclaimed records as well as 5 new exclusives and some of their most successful remixes. The Retrospective Compilation Album is being accompanied by a 4-week Australian and New Zealand tour as well as a string of key European dates. 

'Lasting Part II' picks up where Koven last left off, revisiting the final act from the 'Sometimes We Are EP' and kick-starting a new chapter in their journey. Once again transforming dubstep as we know it, Katie and Max are taking this epic orchestral piece to the dance floor with a total bass overhaul.

Ollie Joseph - Whatever Happens ft. Alexa Lusader

Ollie Joseph never believed his music could actually go somewhere, until meeting his manager in a coffee shop. Ollie rapped for him in the middle of the cafe and the rest is history. Ollie spent most of his early childhood growing up in Japan before moving to California and eventually to Michigan. His first song, "How It's Going Down" was produced by one of the top young producers, Siren. Ollie Joseph's latest song, "Whatever Happens" is also produced by Siren and features the beautiful vocals of singer/songwriter, Alexa Lusader. As Ollie says, " I worked very hard to construct a story of wanting to take this seriously, but not letting my parents down, and trying to put that all into a song." The cover art is uncolored because "I’m just starting out professionally with music, so its a sketch and I’m not even closed to being colored in". Stay tuned. Chiddy Bang - Full Speed Ahead (Prod. Paul Couture)

Talk about a blast from the past. Back when blogs were the go-to music discovery platform, Chiddy Bang – made up of rapper Chiddy and producer Xaphoon Jones – were about as an iconic up-and-coming (frat)rap duo as one could imagine.

Classics like “Opposite of Adults” sampling MGMT’s “Kids” and “Truth” taking on Passion Pit were everyone’s favorites circa 2010.

Things seemed to be heating up for them come 2012, when they released their album Breakfast , but shortly after they disappeared when they broke up in 2013.

Xaphoon Jones continued his production career as Noah Breakfast, working on a number of major records, but it’s been a minute since we’ve heard from Chiddy.

Fast forward to 2017, more than half a decade after they made their first big splash, rapper Chiddy returns to the game with his comeback single, “Full Speed Ahead.” Production on this one is handled by Paul Couture.

Øyvind’s brand of guitar driven indie pop perfectly showcases his musical ability.

His previous release ‘Hold On’ was played on radio in the US, Germany, Australia and UK. Before that, ‘Eventyr’ received airplay on Norwegian radio including NRK1, NRK Møre as well as Romsdal radio. At the start of 2016, Øyvind made it to the finals of the renowned Norwegian music competition ‘Musikkprissen’, in which ‘Highasakite’ won in 2011. He then embarked on a nationwide tour before heading to New York City to play at Rockwood Music Hall.

With ‘Inside Our Minds’ Øyvind creates an infectious single which builds towards a crescendo and leaves you wanting more.

“Pretty” is an observation. I wrote the song after going to multiple bars, clubs, enviornments and seeing how mistreated women are (in almost every sense, and how collectively its kind of a norm (WTF). From my experiences, a lot of times woman are rated based on their physical appearance first, and then (if given the chance) on their actual personalities (intellect, passions, everything that makes them - them, etc.) second. The second verse is more about how I think that people are to being boxed into preconceived categories (especially women), when in reality we are all complex creatures and its not fair to be bogged down by someones desire to compartmentalize and index us into something that is understandable, on their terms. Patrick Joseph - Arsonist Blues
