Cuebrick feat. The Future Is Mine - "United"

November 01, 2017 by N3 On The Track in Music, Dance

Artists: Cuebrick feat. The Future Is Mine
Title: United
Label: Enhanced Music
Release date: 20 October 2017

Download / Stream

We live in a world where often our differences seem to outweigh our similarities, where humans are encouraged to be divided instead of recognizing the hopes, dreams, fears and struggles that we all share. Cuebrick's new track "United," in collaboration with The Future is Mine, serves as a heartfelt testament that music is the universal language to connect us all. Opening with soulful vocals over soft chords, the track rides on moving lyrics and cinematic melodies into the break, where a gospel choir delivers a goosebump-inducing chorus. Cuebrick and The Future is Mine formed an instant bond when they met and decided to combine their electronic and live instrumental sounds - and United was born. The decision to add the choir came after the track was finished because the producers still felt something was missing in the break. The artists wanted to create a raw emotional feel with real (as opposed to computer-generated) vocals, so they got together with the local gospel choir in Cuebrick's studio and recorded the stunning verses that are in the final version. The uplifting message conveyed in "United," combined with its expertly crafted production, give it a timeless quality that is guaranteed to delight crowds all over the world.

The DJ and producer known as Cuebrick first broke into the electronic dance music scene over 3 years ago with his debut hit single "Watch Out" topped the German dance charts at #1 for seven weeks. He earned international respect after a series of successful releases and remixes, like "Iceland" with Tritonal and his remix of Jochen Miller's "Head On" original on labels like Enhanced Recordings, Ultra Music, Mixmashand Armada. Cuebrick leveraged the talented band, The Future is Mine, for "United." The Future is Minebuilt their sound geared toward the rock audience, with a focus on instrumentals and raw vocals that can only be found in live music. Their music's mesmerizing melodies and meaningful lyrics have resounded with many a listener, and their producer has been featured on Gold and Platinum records. This past year, Cuebrick has performed at some of the world's best festivals, including Nature One, Mayday, Winterworld, Electric Love Festival . He is supported by industry heavyweights like Tiesto, Armin van Buuren, Nicky Romero, W&W, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Steve Aoki and more. Between his immense industry backing and his growing global audience, Cuebrick is positioned as one of the most promising rising talents in electronic music.

Misunderstood - "Ghetto Style"

November 01, 2017 by N3 On The Track in Music, Indie Pop

British pop / R&B duo Misunderstood reveal their debut single ‘Ghetto Style’. The song was written by Misunderstood and Maegan Cottone (Little Mix, Britney Spears, Olly Murs).

Misunderstood are South East Londoners Stephan Benson and Jeff Okyere. The duo met while they were both at school, bonding over their love for music, choreography and their complicated childhoods. Although ‘Ghetto Style’ is their first proper release, the duo are no strangers to the limelight.

Having supported top pop acts like Boys II Men on tour, nabbed the Will.i.Am seal of approval and casually partied with Beyoncé in West Hollywood, Misunderstood have also attracted an impressive following on their social channels, simply through touring and organically growing a fanbase.

Their first gig at a Birmingham University fashion show, organised through a friend, had drawn in a large student crowd. They went on to play their second show in Germany.

Alongside recording songs like ‘ Sucker’ and ‘Imma Do My Thang ’ for their social networks, Misunderstood started producing and directing their own music videos – filming themselves as they travelled. Their fan base grew – and their dedication to their own marketing paid off as they accumulated huge numbers of fans on Facebook and even convinced promoters to let them support big acts like Chipmunk, Stooshe, DJ Fresh and Boys II Men on their UK tours.

“Our message is simple,” says Stephan. "It’s about being free to be yourself. It’s about being happy in you. It’s about having fun. It’s storytelling about the people who aren’t being shouted about. You’ll see and hear that in everything; the music, our style and in our videos. Our personalities and beliefs are bottled into our music.”

Jane XØ - "Let Me Down Easy" (with LöKii)

October 31, 2017 by N3 On The Track in Music, Indie Pop

Jane XØ has revealed her new track, ‘Let Me Down Easy’ . The emotional song follows the release of ‘Love Me’ and its follow-up remix EP ‘Alternate Love’ earlier this year, and continues a series of incredibly high quality trap-pop productions which have left critics astounded and consistently questioning the identity of the artist.

Since emerging in 2016 with a mysterious Soundcloud account, and zero followers, Jane XØ has caught the attention of the electronic music community around the world. In her few public comments, Jane has expressed her wish to remain anonymous. “Being able to express myself musically without limits, no worries of judgement, no worries of success or failure.”

While speculation is rife about her true identity, one things remain certain - Jane XØ’s music is a surefire hit. Her feature with Mike Perry ‘Touching You Again’ has amassed over 17.5 million streams on Spotify alone, and with her own productions she she’s consistently climbed the Hype Machine charts as well as amounting millions of streams across all platforms.

In her ambient, floating signature sound, Jane XØ blends urban pop, world music and dance elements into an exotic, laid-back chill out tune in a class of its own. Danceable electro sounds, crisp staccato beats, warped tribal influences, and above all Jane XØ’s distinctive, sexy, goosebumps-evoking vocals.

What stands Jane XØ apart from other artists in her field, is that all ego has been stripped away in favour of purity in the pursuit of her art. Keeping the images behind the music and the vocals of Jane XØ completely anonymous – the wild, untamed emotion and passionate personality in the songs and performances take centre stage. Jane makes music that resonates and connects. She takes no notice of judgments and doesn’t worry about what critics might have to say. By doing so, the art and ideas are kept intact.

Song after song, Jane is all about bringing the truth to light. For her, the future is wide open, the possibilities are endless, and the music is what matters.

Hi-Fi Cali & The Prams - "Attention"

October 31, 2017 by N3 On The Track in Music, Electronic

- The Prams are Jesse and Alta Keller, a husband-wife duo from Minneapolis.

- Hi-Fi Cali is a side project of Chris Bartels' Bora York, and he's been exploring different ideas of how to really differentiate the two projects - and featuring and collaborating with other artists and singers for Hi-Fi Cali singles is one way that's been happening.

- The Prams have been releasing a song every month this year - this is August's release.

- Hi-Fi Cali started essentially as an accident - a few random electro songs had been written, and when Bora York was unable to play a live show invite, Chris and drummer Bjorn played these few songs and a couple others, and turned it into a full-on project, experimenting and trying new things with every live show and in the studio with each single.

Manu Crooks - "Ridin'"

October 31, 2017 by N3 On The Track in Music, Rap

“Ridin’ is an elongated version of a misunderstood male trying to figure it all out”
– Manu Crooks

Premiering on Good Nights with Linda on triple J this week, and on Pigeons and Planes this morning, " Ridin '" is the first single off upcoming EP mood forever - a six track EP of brand new material (Due August 18).

Sydney-based artist and producer Manu Crooks exploded onto the international hip-hop scene last year with his debut track “ Everyday ”, before exceeding expectations again with the follow up breakout single “ Blowin’ Up ” which, all jokes aside, BLEW. UP.

The clip has now massed over 1.7 million views, and the track was added to triple J rotation, featured by Zane Lowe on Beats One, premiered by Hip-Hop’s biggest music news site The Fader , and earned the opportunity to open for both YG and Danny Brownon their respective Australian tours. For an artist who spends most of his time in a studio in Sydney, those are some pretty massive achievements for such a short amount of time.

Although based in Sydney, Manu Crooks has a definitively international sound. Building a dedicated following with his “raw lyricism and seamless flow,” ( The Fader ) some have likened him to the hugely popular Atlanta scene, some comparisons coming out of Toronto, while some can’t place his accent at all.

Early on in his career, yet already viewed as a pioneer in the Australian hip-hop scene,Manu Crooks is bridging hip-hop hemispheres and proving that he “might just be our best hope for Aus rap to make a significant impact on the international scene.” ( Complex )

This universal sound comes from growing up in Ghana, before finally settling as an Australian citizen in Sydney as a young teen. Because of this, Manu’s palette of influences is lush and diverse – he speaks two languages, is a producer, an artist, and a rapper. This comprehensive creativity perfectly showcases a new breed of beats coming out of Sydney, breaking the traditional structure of hip-hop in Australia to reveal an exciting and interesting new soundscape.

"Being of a West African background is super dope.. Just from going to parties when I was younger and hearing the music that was being played even around the house growing up, it instills a certain rhythm in you! The whole African culture and sound is embedded deep within... Also now living in Australia, it's a very culturally diverse place, & being around so many different nationalities is always so inspiring" - Manu Crooks

Recently featured by SBS Viceland , this group of artists, featuring Manu as well as producers Miracle and Dopamine, along fellow artists JOY, and Anfa Rose – all work out of a studio called ‘Dream Factory’. They’re creating something special and representing a new era of music in Australia – an era of culturally diverse and sonically challenging artists who are telling stories of their life experiences and the world around them, and who are getting recognition on a global scale.

Hip Hop coming out of Australia has a new agenda and it’s only just getting started.

Working with producers Miracle and DOPAM!NE for his upcoming EP, Manu Crooks’ has a fresh perspective and a continent full of hip hop fans who are ready to root for one of their own.

-------------------------------------------
‘mood forever’ EP will be available August 18th
“Ridin” is available to stream and purchase on all platforms from July 14th

Ruben Young - "Bad Habits"

October 31, 2017 by N3 On The Track in R&B/Soul, Music

"Bad Habits" is a modern - vintage soul summer jam by Canadian R&B artist Ruben Young, and produced by Canadian hip hop legend, Classified. The third single of Ruben's breakout year features his trademark raspy vocals, a nostalgic soul/hip hop groove, and a deadly hook.

Coming off of a huge summer of opening for The Chainsmokers, Akon and Classified, Ruben is excited to release the title single from his upcoming record, "The Bad Habits EP"

"Bad Habits" is an ode to the vices - to the temptation, the lust, and the games we can't kick.
"I wrote it in the fall of 2015, following my "relapse" for a girl I'd been chasing since I was 16 years old. She's never been good for me, and I've known it all along. We kept our 'relationship' a secret, and it became more of an affair. She was my forbidden secret - my bad habit. 7 years later, it all came crashing down. I think everyone's guilty of falling for someone who they couldn't get over; even though they knew they needed to. For me, she was dangerous, and I loved that about her."

After reaching the Hype Machine top 10, the iTunes Canada Pop top 30, the iTunes Electronic top 4, Spotify Canada's Viral 50 top 12, and streaming over 1 million times between his last two singles, "Take Her Down" and "Running For You", Ruben will be building on his momentum this summer as he takes "Bad Habits" to Canadian radio August.

Classified, multi-platinum selling, JUNO award winning artist, producer and writer has helped build the careers of emerging Canadian artists such as Ria Mae and David Myles. His notorious catchy soul/hip hop vibes have reached #1 on the Canadian Album Chart, and as high as #5 on the Canadian Hot 100 with the 4x Platinum "Inner Ninja". He co-wrote and produced "Bad Habits", and performed it live with Ruben at the Calgary Stampede in July.

A remix EP for "Bad Habits" is being made, which will be released within the coming months.

“I’d like to present you with my newest song titled “Don’t Hate Me When The Rain Goes Away” The premise of the track is about when things are moving forward for you how others will want to take advantage of it so you have to put your foot down despite possibly losing relationships because of it. The Track is bouncy and has a turnt up vibe with a melodic rap flow on top of production by Dee A. Enjoy!”
