Anarbor is back in a big way with new single “MIA”. Hearing welcomed influences of pop-punk from the band’s early days, this track is one of those that nostalgically bring you back to the romantic indulgence of teenage angst.
While the influence of early 2000s pop - rock is obvious, you also hear a sound that has expanded on this and that is crafted for today’s alt-pop audience. Taking a look at their massive onslaught of fans this sound transition is evident as their fanbase is still largely teens, only this time around the teens are of a different generation.
Staying current is an impressive feat for any band that had made their rise in a different decade. Anarbor’s impeccable ability to do this comes from the band’s mastering of dynamics and their obvious curiosity for popular music. “MIA” gives us subdued but steady drum and bass lines putting focus on the double guitar and Slade’s engagingly vulnerable vocals. The skillful backing sound mixed with the more show-y guitar riffs give Anarbor the rock-edge that keeps their music from ever fully entering into the pop world. By so carefully treading the line between pop and rock they are set up to attract both the masses as well as the more subversive pop and indie-rock enthusiasts.
The group is currently on an America-wide tour playing a show-a-night (except Mondays) for the next couple of months. They have joined forces with popular indie rockers Alvarez Kings and WILD for various parts of their tour. They will be covering just about every corner of the United States so keep up with their tour schedule on Instagram and catch them live doing what they do best.

“What drew me in about this track is the surreal vocals along with the smooth combination of instruments”
“Very smooth combination of instruments!”
“The beginning of this song felt like a climax! So much emotions in the playing of the instruments with great vocals to match! 4/5”
“This song made me put a Thizz face on and nod my head! The intro jam session is funky to say the least! When the vocals of Alex Kramer finally started I honestly felt like his tone and raspyness was a perfect match for the music. I wish there was a little more soul at times in his voice but “Testimony is a solid record! 3.5/5”
