“Swag! Okay little.house.. I see you! She has that sound that’s perfect for the time! I’m assuming this is a female though lol Nowadays with pitched up artist like 24hrs it gets hard to tell but regardless. Love the bounce on this record! 4.5/5”
“Very well put together. Ready for summer pool party playlist. A Tory Lanez feature doesn’t ever hurt a track either! 4/5”
“Really liked the hook and concept on this joint. Autotune was a little off on some places but I like what the artist were trying to do! Definitely points for trying. Would like to hear more. 3.5/5”
“Dope track for such a young artist! 14 years old?! Impressive! 4/5”
“Love the vibe of this. Found myself bobbing my head to it. Epique definitely reminds me of Travis Scott and love how he switched his cadence up every nbow and then. Would love for him to find something to make him stick out as an individual more. 4/5”
“Its been awhile since I’ve had a chance to review an album by artist Radio Base but nice to be back!
Here we go; The album starts with “That Yack”, a track introducing new listeners and welcoming back old supporters to the digital party Radio Base has been throwing for years. Liquor. Women. and That bounce!
Next we have “Water” & we’re back to the party! The concept is perfect for what’s popular now but Radio has always been a trendsetter from what I’ve seen .. Even listening to this track reminds me of a dance I’ve seen him and members of his entourage do during love performances!
”A Whole Lot Of It” is solid. There’s something about Radio’s lyrics that I love. Genius without being extra and hippity hoppy about it. I think people might be sleeping on his lyrical ability because of the type of music he creates!
A skit follows that remind me of concepts in Radio’s older mixtapes but let’s get back to the music.
On “Don’t Matter” Radio Base gives the first verse torch to artist King Tyfollows hing I’ve noticed that Radio Base does is periodically feature New artist on his popular records introducing them to his core fan base. I can salute that. But sidenote. I woulda faded that track out in the end. Outro too long!
Now “Chase the Cat”?! Yea.. Definitely love this concept and the beat is knocking!! * turns record up* Yup! Classic Radio Base! Straight like that... Why must I chase the cat?!
”Back Up” brings that bounce back! Definitely something you can play at any party on the West Coast. Nice to hear the Stevianna collab too!
”Big Worm” changes the tempo of things providing a laid back sound track for listeners who might not necessarily feel like turning up too much before the function!.
Back to the party tracks ..”Nothing Major” & “Magic” follow adding to the collection of new tracks for house party DJs
There is a certain bounce to his music that reminds me of the Bay and the hyphy music but with that New West feel to it. With that being said “ Name On It” doesn’t differ to much from that description and definitely showcases Radio’s rap style and cadence. Ending the song off is “Karaoke” ...Got that Justin Bieber instrumental for it. Nice vibe. Dope skit.
From there comes “OTW”, a bass and kick heavy track that keeps the tempo slower, something a little surprising since I’m used to Radio Base coming with uptempo bangers back to back. This change is nice tho! Shows diversity! Oh and word to the producer!
”Serious” speeds things up again but honestly reminds me of a handful of tracks I’ve already heard on the album!
”Hair Tie” has a dope concept. Nothing on but a hair tie?! Okay! Definitely something different from Radio Base.. Tryna get the vocals popping huh? Lol I think the engineer coulda hit him with that autotune a lil bit more. But the track is clean.
Next is “OhGod”, but that was his single and you already know it slaps!
The album ends with “Again”, a track definitely left of the rest of the album. Sounds experimental for Radio Base. But still highlights his ability to do something different. Like pop music? Lol
Overall,
5 is another solid Radio Base project! He has a little something for everyone! The party tracks for the party throwers and goers. Some slower tracks for the ladies. I like the diversity he tried to try while keeping his “sound” prevalent. I would like to see him experiment even more. Maybe even touch on the old school West Coast reminiscent of the sound of his mentor Too Short. If I had to point out a negative I would say that sometimes I feel like even though he is giving new artist a chance, the skill level of his collabs becomes somewhat of a seesaw of talent. I would like to see him work with people who are more on his level. Regardless, I enjoyed the project. Definitely have a couple favorites I’ll be adding to playlist I roll around too and I also have some tracks I’ll be adding to the list of tracks I play when I DJ lil shindigs! I look forward to seeing more visuals for this project and seeing what Radio Base will do next!”
“Love the cover art and the song isn’t too shabby either! 3.5/5”
“Vocalist definitely adds pints to this track but the lyricist doesn’t do too bad following along vocally. Not bad a all! 3.5/5”
“Chill track. Something I could definitely vibe to and ride to. 3.5/5”
“Had trouble understanding the lyrics sometimes but this track definitely has a nice bounce to it with replay potential! 4.5/5”
“Definitely a head nodder. Hook is on point. Coulda done without the “it’s lit” adlib without Travis Scott present but the OG Maco was a dope touch! 4.5/5”
“Impressive delivery! Dope energy! Bravo 4/5”
“I almost passed on this song but it grew on me the more I listened! Close call! 3.5/5”
“I like Hairo’s sound. Really polished and clean. I think a visual would help make this track more unique. Hope to see it soon! 4/5”
“Interesting style! I really like how Riplon filled in the empty space on this track and the words also had me intrigued. 3.5/5”
“Aaron K. has an impressive flow but I think it’s gonna take something else to make him stand out among a sea of rappers! Still, as I said I’m impressed and hope to see him rise among the masses 4/5”
“Gandhi Ali “Never Mind Em” has a real grimey sound to it that reminds me of A$AP Mob! I think a visual would help Gandhi stand out as himself but regardless dope track! 4.5/5”
“Cool track.Feel like something is missing but I appreciate the effort. 3.5/5”
“Though the quality could be a little better I couldn’t help but move to this record! Can’t deny enjoyment when it happens! 3.5/5”
