MAJ & 24KGoldn Find Themselves "2drunk" To Drive After Partying Their Heartbreak Away On New Single

August 21, 2019 by N3 On The Track in Music, Pop

Former YouTuber turned artist MAJ has released his second single "2drunk (Feat. 24KGoldn)," housed on his forthcoming debut project MAJestic, via his label Electric Feel Records, whose roster includes Post Malone, Buddy, etc. The latest single was premiered by Audiomack on August 7.

On "2drunk," with an afrobeats-esque influence, listeners find a relatable and a melodically-sprung MAJ, who floods his feelings of heartbreak with a party filled with marijuana and liquor -- ultimately leaving him and 24KGoldn wanting to ditch the event with other women, but finding themselves "way too drunk to drive."

MAJ, who's ditched the YouTuber life and fueled his music career with his social media fame and virality, introduced the upcoming project with his first single "Come Here" in April 2019, followed with "Trial & Error," and his July 2019 release, "Tesla."

Previous releases also include his 2018 breakthrough tracks "You and I" and "Sloppy Seconds," produced by Juice WRLD producer Nick Mira. Notably, the tracks spawned over 5M total streams within a year's time, solidifying his place in the race.

Oli Hannaford - "If You Wanna" ft. Only Girl

June 18, 2019 by N3 On The Track in Music, Pop

Since downloading Logic Pro X and self-releasing his debut single, London based singer, songwriter and producer Oli Hannaford has quickly established himself as an exciting addition to the UK's burgeoning Neo-Soul scene. Having been tipped in recent months by the likes of Clash, Complex and even Elton John, Hannaford returns this week with 'If You Wanna', his latest single and the title track of his forthcoming EP for Parisian label Splinter.

Featuring up & coming singer Only Girl, 'If You Wanna' takes funky house, soul and RnB, and gives it an indie DIY twist to provide the perfect backdrop for the two vocalists to spar over, Hannaford's fragile vocals contrasting perfectly with Only Girl's powerful delivery as the track itself twists and turns from nimble fretwork through to a brushing bass line and twisting synth arpeggios.

Following on from recent collaborations with the likes of RnB singer Scarlett Fae, Californian rapper N.O.M.A.D. Luke and most notably Melle Brown on 'Background Noise' that saw the Oli pick up plays from the likes of Toddla T and Rickie, Melvin and Charlie on Radio 1, Trevor Nelson on Radio 2, 1xtra's Mistajam and Jamz Supernova, and Beats 1's Julie Adenuga and Rebecca Judd, 'If You Wanna' is sure to further cement the young Londoner's reputation.

The Chainsmokers - "Kills You Slowly"

April 16, 2019 by N3 On The Track in Music, Pop
“We wanted to make a song that told a really sort of dark twisted story but the way you felt it and heard it was the complete opposite... the songs production and melodies are very uplifting and vibey yet if you listen to the lyrics it tells the story of all the relationships we have been in that have turned toxic. Love that we become a prisoner of because of fear of leaving the other. Its something we can all relate to and is a terrible anxious feeling but in this song we give it this sort of positivity...”

Sharks - "Fuck you good"

December 11, 2018 by N3 On The Track in Music, Pop

It is certainly in time for girls to talk loudly about having sex by now. Sharks are now contributing to the debate through the new single "Fuck You Good".

The band tells:

"Fuck You Good" is like a modern version on Cyndi Laupers "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" and it's really about time for girls to talk about wanting to have sex with someone purely based on their looks and not being shy about it!

"Fuck you Good" carries an important message, but it's also great to dance to and exactly that versatility is something that Sharks are known for.

It is time for the rest of the world to understand that you can be sexy, elegant, vulnerable, strong, revealing, proper, sad, strong and also a feminist - all at the same time. Believe it or not, but it's actually possible wanting to Fuck someone Good just because of the persons looks - and still being a feminist.

Behind Sharks we find Sophia Englund and Susanna Friberg who have made a name for themselves in clubs and festivals around Sweden the past couple of years. Among other artists they have been support on tour for Veronica Maggio and The Chainsmokers.

narou - "Prophecy" (ft. Hannah Jenkins)

December 07, 2018 by N3 On The Track in Music, R&B/Soul, Pop

Berlin based, Vienna-born songwriter and producer narou returns with his latest single ‘Prophecy (ft. Hannah Jenkins)’ to be released on 30th November via Chrome Music. Having worked on numerous notable collabs spanning over a dynamic range of emotions and moods, his latest offering lives and breathes on its own, with a singularly strong yet minimalistic vibe.

Having grown up with music from a very young age, with his father also a music producer, narou’s love for writing has continued to evolve. In 2014, he started producing and performing with James Hersey and supported Milky Chance on their European Tour. After moving to Amsterdam to study Sound Engineering, his next steps took him to Berlin, where he further explored and discovered his songwriting and singing.

narou is delving into an electronic-soul and rnb sensibility with renewed perspective in the process of creating an album that will feature his talented friends. As well as numerous collaborations with James Hersey, narou is also a featured artist on a soon to be released single from Berlin based Australian James Chatburn.

'Prophecy' co-writer and vocalist Hannah Jenkins, is a New York-born, Berlin-based singer and songwriter. Coming from a strong soul background, Hannah creatively collects influences from early exposure to greats like Nina Simone, Ella Fitzgerald, Bill Withers, Stevie Wonder and Otis Redding, to name a few. She takes these deep roots to a place of gentle modernity, crooning over a simple yet strong beat, and bringing the listener into a place of honest resonance.

“I wrote ‘Prophecy’ at a time when I was letting my own sense of self get clouded by other people's expectations or definitions of yourself - whether it's a romantic partner or even friends and family. Once you let go of that, get in touch with your own currency and give yourself unconditional love, that's where the magic lives for real. Deep down I knew narou would do an awesome job in realizing the full potential of it because I really dig his sort of weird and simplistic style in a lot of his earlier stuff so I ran it by him and he made it what it is.” - Hannah Jenkins

“In the beginning we struggled with the structure and overall mood of the song. I always felt like it needed a stronger hook so I decided to write something and sing it myself. Surprisingly our voices fit together perfectly. The Idea for the Lyrics were to answer to Hannahs cry for love. Saying that no one involved really knows whats going on and that both sides seem confused and hesitant over what to do with their feelings. We hope people resonate with it and see a way out of their own patterns of destructive thinking. And know it's not the end of the world when shit happens to you. You gotta dive deep and find the answers within yourself. And yeah we want people to be nice to themselves and identify and own their own beauty.” - narou

EMBRZ - ‘Like It Or Not’ feat joan (JNTHN STEIN remix)

August 09, 2018 by N3 On The Track in Music, Pop

Rising Irish electronic producer EMBRZ (Jack Casey) offers up thumping JNTHN STEIN remix of his new track ‘Like It Or Not’ featuring US retro-pop duo joan out now via Ultra Music.

Jack says: 'Was so cool to have JNTHN STEIN remix 'Like it or Not', he's such a sick producer! Loved that he switched up the feel of the original and gave it some attitude and punch smashed it!’

He goes on to add: "This was a fun song to make! It started out as just some chords I wrote on the guitar, a rough vocal melody, and it just kept evolving. I wanted to make something upbeat, something that felt like it belonged to the summer. I had always been a fan of joan, so it was great to collaborate with them on this tune. They smashed it!”

Epic, swooning and emotive, ‘Like It Or Not’ is the highly anticipated follow up to his recent single ‘Close 2 U’ featuring Aussie new comer Harvie and debut EP ‘Progress’ released in 2017, which caught the attention of tastemaker press like Clash, This Song Is Sick and Wonderland, describing ‘Heartlines’ as “destined to be your go-to song to listen to as the sun sets on warm summer nights.”

Over the few short years that Jack has been producing music as EMBRZ, he’s notched up an impressive tally of achievements, remixing Ellie Goulding’s “How Long Will I Love You” (currently on over 6.6 million plays) and then The 1975’s “Settle Down” (currently on 3 million) the following year. Continuing that run, last year Jack turned out a stunning, blissful remix of Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Run Away With Me” - a remix so good her label couldn’t say yes fast enough and which ultimately became the official remix for the track. Since then, he’s been uploading a steady stream of tracks and Hype Machine #1’s, including well-received cuts like “Home”, “Lights” and then “Breathe” last year.

‘Like It Or Not’ will be available digitally via Ultra Music

Loud Forest - "Level Ground"

March 08, 2018 by N3 On The Track in Music, Pop

"You look up, but we're on the same ground. Just stand up, there's no where else to drown. We're lost, we're found on level ground." Rachel of Loud Forest wrote these lyrics in reference to the space we put between each other depending on our success and failure. But there is no space. We sit in kinship on the same ground; rising, falling, clarity, confusion, grace, repeat.
