“Riding a steady beat and lyrics that flow well, Chris O’Bannon drops a single rich in confidence. The promise in ‘I Promise’ is more boastful than earnest , but O’Bannon pulls the cockiness off with an unflinching delivery that works, despite perhaps a touch too much reliance on autotune, which makes the emotions harder to feel for this listener. ”
