Newcomer SS announces himself with these stripped back club inspired visuals for his latest single ‘Gasolina’. Dropped on GRM Daily, the video follows his remix of Not3s’ ‘M3 Not You’ from earlier this year, with both tracks showcasing what’s to come from the burgeoning producer/mc/creative. Recent studio sessions with the likes of Dappy and G-Money have resulted in a collection of tracks which will make up his debut EP, chalked for release later this year.

As CEO of Sound Records Ltd (a label he set up himself), the ambitious youngster aims to put out music from other acts as well as his own. Having already made some serious moves in 2017, at 16 he produced the award winning afrobeat star Samini’s single ‘One Shot’, a song which earned radio plays on BBC 1Xtra, Capital Xtra and further interviews with DJ Edu and Abrantee. Off his own back his second release ‘Know’ was championed by HotNewHipHop, indicating a potential cross-Atlantic appeal for his music also.

Whilst having a vibrant sound in line with his peers, SS’ music is deeply rooted in artistry and musicality from the past, as he embraces the classic records he was brought up - from Reggae, Hip Hop, R&B, Rare Groove, Jungle, Garage and the like. His music covers the emotions of a young man finding his place in this ever changing world.

Walden Ash - "Come & Go" [Video]

Walden Ash is a hip-hop artist from Canada’s west coast, Vancouver. BC. Best known for his hip-hop music, Ash consistently pushes the boundaries of the genre by effortlessly intertwining hard hitting beats with catchy hooks for a unique rap and R&B sound. His passion for music began at a young age, with rhymes of rap legends like Eminem and 50 Cent first catching his attention back in elementary school. With the support of his family and friends, Ash later decided to try his hand at recording his own music and released his debut single “ IDGAF ft Problem ” in January 2016, garnering over 70K plays on Spotify. The track received considerable recognition amongst other recording artists and peers, which not only helped propel Ash’s career forward but also solidified him as one of the west coast’s promising new artists. Since then he’s released two mixtapes including Monster Mixtape in 2016, and Always Knew Mixtape in 2017, both available on Apple Music and Spotify. During the launch party of his Monster Mixtape, Ash got OVO/Reps Up and fellow Canadian hip-hop artist P Reign (now Preme) to host his mixtape release party at Fortune Sound Club in downtown Vancouver, helping put Canada’s urban west side on the map. More recently, Ash released the music video for his new single Come & Go off his Always Knew mixtape, gaining 80,000 views and nearly 200 shares on his Facebook fan-page in the first week, and is busy working on collaborations with other artists in the game. Manu Crook$ - "Under Pressure" [Video]

After showcasing at BIGSOUND earlier this month as well as touring with Danny Brown, YG, Stormzy, ABRA, and Tory Lanez, and tipping over 450k views on his video for “Day Ones” in only 3 weeks, Manu Crooks is back again with the music video for “ Under Pressure ,” the latest single from his recently released debut EP, mood forever.

Produced and directed by Jáen Collective in collaboration with Red Bull Sound Select , the visual offers a stark contrast between the suburban background of previous videos – placing Manu up against the harsh beauty of Australia’s rural landscape in a Bonnie and Clyde style getaway.

Young Bull - "Voicemail" (feat. Christian Sinclair) [Video]

When they were only 15, classmates and former JV basketball teammates Tahmique Cameron and Gabe Fox-Peck began performing at talent shows and recording songs in Fox-Peck’s bedroom. The name Young Bull came as a reference to their hometown Durham, N.C.’s nickname as the Bull City, and anchored by Cameron’s tender vocals and Fox-Peck’s intricate keyboard and production skills, their unique sound- a mix of jazz, funk, R&B, and hip-hop influences- began gaining traction online, while energetic live performances helped capture the attention of local bookers. In 2016, the crowds continued growing, and the duo added Raleigh-based rapper Christian Sinclair to the mix.

Young Bull’s released their debut studio album, Sopadelic, last summer, which earned comparisons to Anderson Paak and the Internet. The album quickly reached over a quarter of a million plays on Spotify, and through regular touring have grown their fanbase from Brooklyn to Asheville. Sopadelic is complex and interesting, but in a way that’s easy to understand and pleasant to listen to, making it feel completely intentional. Super Empty Mag praised Young Bull’s versatility, saying Sopadelic “spans from soulful, quiet ballads to trap songs that wouldn’t sound out of place on major radio” and The Blue Banner Asheville says they have “the perfect mix between soul and swagger.”

When the cops came to shut down a recent show in Raleigh, it would’ve been easy to call things off, but the party wasn’t over for Young Bull. Director, editor, and producer Lance Oppenheim instead turned the whole evening in to a music video for “Voicemail.” The trio drive around the city, and close-up angles make the viewer feel like they’re right there experiencing things with them. Eventually they end up at Waffle House, where even the waitress is intrigued to listen to their music. With the “Voicemail” music video, one thing is for certain: Young Bull never stop hustling, and they never stop having fun.

MANILA GREY is a Filipino duo made up of Soliven & Neeko. The ‘1z’ music video was created in early 2017 and was inspired by the distinct visuals of the Filipino culture . Working with director M64, the duo pushed to modernize the culture's tropes by choosing locations with character, capturing flaws and imperfections and creating an aesthetic that has never been seen before.

The Midwest music industry is one of the most underrated in the nation (well of course with the exclusion of Chicago). Telling someone that there are a bunch of talented well doing musicians out in a state like Iowa would almost sound like a conversation about the rearing of farm animals and the mime of country music. But guess what? The likes of Lyrikal do not just exist as hip hop musicians living in Iowa, he survives and feed his family on money earned from music produced by his entertainment company; The Teknitions LLC manned out of Iowa.

In 2014, the Iowa raised Minnesota native produced and released the Vol 1 of his NoizeMakerz project. This is a project that should be classified as one of the best projects out of the Midwest if given the right attention by the national media community. Lyrikal and The Teknitions toured about 18 cities performing songs off the project and sold Merchandise branded after the project on the NoizeMakerz tour in the summer of 2014. Word on the streets has it that some boobs were signed and it is on record that a good number of CDs and merchandise were also sold on the tour.

Ever since, the fast rising artist and producer has been growing and strengthening the wheels of his production company; The Teknitions LLC. This earned him the reputation of opening for Tech9ne’s tour two years in a row and he is again on the Strictly Strange Tour 17.

Just shortly after coordinating the release of the Q1 mixtape for his team, Lyrikal is officially announcing the release of his forthcoming project billed to drop in the summer of 2017 with a single titled “All about the Pay” featuring Nigerian born USA based Afro Pop music head – Ajofe StreetMic AKA StreetMic Tha Virus.

All about the pay x-rays the struggles of these two young men in achieving life goals and meeting family needs. It tells stories of victory over past travails and the continuous strife of securing a better tomorrow.
