“There are a ton of songs dealing with Toxic relationships, but most are delivered from a victim’s point of view and deal with the idea of emerging on the other side.
Jade LeMac gives us an entirely different take. Told from a ‘Narcissistic’ POV, LeMac gives us the adrenaline rush. The thrill of knowing something is wrong and doing it anyway. LeMac evokes a wry bit of irreverence in this ode to passion.”
“Written from the viewpoint of the down and out, this track is dark and brooding, but also about hope and the escape from rock bottom. Òlah Bliss infuses a vulnerability in the talented vocal delivery, and the music adds another layer to the emotions of this song with nuance and power.
’Holy’ was shaped by the artist’s own religious leanings, but the track is not overtly preachy and will appeal to the secular minded as well.”
“This song is moody but deep. It starts off with a country guitar string to it then it goes into classic rock. Sharna Pax descriptive delivery will empower any listener with a bust of energy. Around the 2:20 mark she takes a sudden shift in delivery just to bring us back in.”
“The video here did not add much for me, but then again it didn’t need to because the songwriting and performance is though evoking and provocative enough to carry me forward.
Some things just hit hard instantly, and that was the case for me. on this song. For those needing a comparison, there is a hint of Brandi Carlile, more in the talented defiance and writing than the vocal tone. ‘Avalanche’ is a track that will bury you in the best possible ways. The emotions, the nuance, the strong vocals and emotive power.
If I had to label this one I’d call it Americana, but good, no great, music transcends genre and this track did that for me.”
“The track has that light energetic vibe of artists such as One Republic or Mumford & Sons. There is a Folksy brand of Pop to the sound that is uplifting in nature. The gist of ‘Find My Way’ is about living your best life and taking the opportunities as they come because you never truly know wha tthe future entails.”
“This track unfurls like a sultry dreamscape. There is a retro vibe to the vocal style and build but at times the track has a more modern Pop edge and the infusion of the two in conjunction with the talented vocal performance held my intrigue for the full ride.
’GIrls Night’ is a fun ride and Dot. is the voice we need to lead a multicultural dance party. This time it just happens to be a nice slow song to hold the one you love tight as you let the song soak in. ”
“ People don’t value trust. They use your feelings and your trust like its the weather. Jakke mixes Alternative Rock and break beat creating a sound similar to Linkin Park in this track. The track is titled “Hurricane” because it describes the moods people go to when they are there for someone who doesn’t appreciate them.”
“This punk rock love track is very entertaining. It starts off with a little aggression but then the story unfolds. The song is about falling into a dark place but then finding light. The light then guides you to a better place of sobriety. I miss Linkin Park but Silos,Judge, Jury, and Crazy Town remind me of them.”
“Newport is fast becoming one of my favorite contributors to LA on Lock. This is the second track we’ve featured and the emotive vocal delivery gripped me early on. The erratic beat and cadence is a perfect match to the lyrical build and emotions of the track, showcasing how deliberate and talented Newport is.
I’ll call this Alt Po for lack of a clear genre, but you’ll call it a great new find when you add it to your own playlists.”
“DIN NYC reminded me of a blend of Tom Petty and Wilco. ‘Crooked Line’ rides that line of Indie Rock/ Americana and has a classic timeless ound. There is a bit of vintage Springsteen to the style as well. Simply a good classic sound with a engaging set of lyrics.
Perfectly timeless!”
“Aria Ohlsson has that kind of emotive delivery that instantly pulls in listeners. Here in her track, “Someone Else’ Ohlsson reflects on love and the her personal experiences that have shaped who she is. I did at times wish for less production and a bit more straightforward delivery to better feel the emotions, but it is a solid track as is. ”
“We are all looking for a ‘Miracle’ in some from or another. Natalie Clark’s silk smooth vocals delivers one on this uplifting track. A calm yet inspiring track this is one of those songs that cam motivate and convince you that anything truly is possible making it the perfect addition for that workout, or rise and grind type playlist. ”
“Daniel Ellsworth’s new track, “After All’ hot me like a psychedelic Elton John. Sure, Elton had his days of altered state and had some out there songs but Ellsworth hasn’t created anything derivative here in his vibe. Was more of a feeling for me with hints of Elton John and Grateful Dead as a loose connector to the sound.
The video is also trippy by Ellsworth and his band the Great Lakes also infuse emotion and a strong sense of build in the track so besides the talent I was pulled in and took the full ride.”
“Flowtone unleashes a slow build on ‘Eats Me Alive,’ a vibe-heavy Indie Rock track.
If Coldplay and the Chili Peppers merged for one night, the result might sound something like this. We all have those things that eat at us from the inside out and this track not only delivers that emotion lyrically, but also in the overall tone.”
“My closest comparison to the sound and vibe of this track from new band Indecent Proposal is the Black Crowes. ‘Behind Her Eys’ has a rock ballad feel but hints of Americana lurk in the sound and the result is an emotionally-fueled track that is the perfect accompaniment to a psychedelic trip or a calming jam session for that cross-country road trip.”
“Looking for something different? Look no further than KJ(!)’squirky track ‘Good Day.’
Riding a funking beat and simple, yet catchy lyrical hook the track is simply infectious in the best ways. I couldn’t stop listing the first time and the same has hel through multiple listens though I am hard-pressed to explain why.
The track has a friendly vibe like a bit of advice from a friend telling you not to let the world grind you down and the arrangement is simply fun. The talent is there though the track has a simple brilliance to it that carries the day. ”
“The HawtThorns are led by the musical talent of wife and husband duo of KP and Johnny Hawthorn. The sound is tough to put in any one genre. Americana probably works best though there are hints of 90’s Country, West Coast singer/songwriter vibes, and even a touch of acoustic Pop.
’All The Right Reasons’ is about looking back and realizing that person you badly wanted and needed isn’t right for you so it is a blessing that things didn’t work out.” ”
“I like how the track has a Pop syth vibe for a few beats before it delves into a 90’s Rock vibe. Clean, deliberate vocals deliver the lyrical side of the track that fits the 90s sound quite well. Good clean music always works, and yes this feels like a throwback in some ways, but Eurotripp manages to accomplish that without feeling dated or derivative. ”
“Caroline Romano is a force, an Alt-Pop star on the rise, and one hell of a songwriter. We have featured Romano on several occasion though ‘Girl in a China Shop’ might be her best work to date.
A track of self awareness and staring in the mirror o face the facts. THis is something we all need to do time to time and now we have a soundtrack when we want to cut the bullshit and be real to ourselves. ”
“As we prepare for the holidays Celia Berk is definitely an artist to add to the holiday playlist. I admire the soft tempo yet the ability to mix all of the holiday classics while still maintaining the original yet beautiful elegant sounds. Celia has a great dynamic range that will put anyone in the holiday spirit. ”
