“A soft vulnerable track that hit me like Adele, if she had been a Pop Diva in the 80’s.
Oliver Nelson and Lilla Vargen combine forces to bring this engaging track to your ears. A track that would be perfect for the quiet montage after a break up in a Rom Com, ‘Long Summer Nights’ is an sensitive ride that pulls at the heart strings. ”
“A soulful track with Pop sensibilities that has hints of Amy Winehouse and a stronger connection to Elle King or ZZ Ward, ‘Happy For You’ is a tongue in cheek track about wishing the best for an ex. The musical equivalent of the South’s Bless Your Heart when someone does or says something stupid the track is biting in a wry way, and the video is a fun watch with the vintage clips setting up the emotion of the track quite well. ”
“Billingsley is compromised of three brothers from North Carolina. The sound and style is Green Day meets Offspring and ‘Long Shot’ is the kind of tongue in cheek song that never goes out of style. The emotions behind the track are ones we’ve all felt and experienced and the wry humor helps make the odds that are stacked against us easier to laugh off. A fun song that you will want to listen to over and over again to get all the lyrics. Pure fun and energy!”
“A haunting early build slides into more of an internal determination with a harder edge as the track progresses. DYLYN goes back and forth with a slow, yet deliberate delivery that reveals the emotion and vulnerability of the well-written lyrics.
Finding comparable isn’t easy as the track straddles several genres but for me this is somewhere between Billie Eilish and Halsey.”
“From the very first note, Natalie Shay emotes the passion and emotion and those elements combined with the theatrical build of this track truly lends to hook and hold the listener for the duration.. The writing is power as is the performance, making this a single hit all the right notes both literally and figuratively. ”
“No longer a stranger to our blog readers or the world, GAYEL is blowing up in a big way and ‘e-z’ is yet another stellar track off her EP. Joined this time by UPSAHL and Blu DeTiger, GAYLE once again delivers in your face attitude is that trademark husky yet sultry tone that pulls the listener in immediately.
A word from the artist herself ...
’e-z is my way of making fun of the way that people make fun of my generation. I’ve been obsessed with UPSAHL and Blu DeTiger for years and I’m so excited that we got to collaborate on this together.’ - GAYLE”
“GAYLE is back on the heels of her super hit, ‘ABCDEFU.’ This new track, ‘luv starved’ comes with the same emotive attitude, but brings a different vibe with a more low key performance rather than the in your face tact of the last single. GAYLE utilizes more nuance in the delivery, but that same vocal rasp and emotive passion comes through making it impossible to turn away from the performance. This track cements the talent and direction for a rising star and I can’t wait to witness the trajectory.”
“We have all shed some blood, at least metaphorically, in the name of love. Connor Kauffman has tapped that emotional vein on this passionate track that has a hint of 90s Rock along with a contemporary Pop Punk vibe at times.
’Bleed’ offers a catchy hook and a lyrical progression that is easy to dial in on and sing along with. Straightforward Rock that speaks to the heart.”
“Written immediately after a trip to Ireland, ‘St. Stephen’s Green’ is a Punk Pop track with a nice bit of reflective emotion pushing it forward. We all get in our own way from time to time and let our emotions color the world around us. this can spoil our own joy as well as our relationships and just recognizing that fact can be all we need to find solid ground once again. This track just might help, as with a lot of great art, it simple resonates in a way that lets us know we are not alone in our thoughts feelings, and anxieties. ”
“This track is a throwback in some ways, as the sound is reminiscent of the glory days of hair bands, but Alexis Gerred still manages to bring this energetic Rock anthem home with a contemporary vibe.
There are hints of Red Hot Chili Peppers to the arrangement and tempo, and the track is one that is simply hard to turn away from. A perfect add for your motivational playlists, or anytime you simply want to rock out. ”
“This track from Jeff Tunes reminds me a bit of Uncle Cracker. ‘Rooftop’ is one of those tranquil jams that feels perfect for summer. Light and airy the tune sweeps you up and in and is almost impossible not to sing along with by the second chorus. A smooth groove that carries you along and puts a bit of spring in your step. ”
“The road to stardom is fraught with all manner of stress and pitfalls as is life itself, and Hotel Mira captures that with ‘Speaking off The Record.’
Any artist worth their salt has experienced hard times as most often the tough times are the creative fuel that inspires great art. This track is candid and raw and taps into the pain and turmoil that we all feel and experience, but are often too afraid to share with the world.”
“So many times we are told to have faith ... things will work out. Truth is that isn’t always the case and yet we keep ;-lugging along through life putting one foot in front of the other. ‘Won’t Stop Yet’ is an anthem of sorts honoring that stubbornness while admitting the effort might not be rewarded the way we want or expect.
The vocal tone is folksy while the arrangement is a energetic and uplifting. The track feels like a celebration of this imperfect thing we call life. ”
“Going out of your way to avoid running into that person that broke your heart or hurt you in some other way is something we have all done, and Kelaska expresses those emotions with heartfelt clarity on the track, ‘Long Way Home.’
A Pop track that is comparable to emotion of a Taylor Swift song, the lyrics tell a story but he vocal performance makes you truly feel it.”
“The conflicting emotions of high school come in many forms and perhaps none stand out like the race for popularity. The struggle to stand out and conform at the same time is an odd dynamic and this track uses the race for ‘Homecoming Queen’ as the backdrop to express that. Anabl delivers an emotive set of lyrics and a contemporary Pop style to deliver the track and her spot on talent accentuate the strong writing and brings the song fully to life.”
“Peyton Shay is poised to be the next darling of the Pop Punk scene. With beautiful ones and an emotional edge, ‘Aftertaste’ is the break down of the mental mastication of a breakup. The seed things can go from great to irate is stunningly quick but sometimes it is is the devastation that we truly find out who we are and this song offers a glimpse of that ride. ”
“Inspired by the dearth of originality in a social media driven world, Jake Hays delivers a heartfelt ode to trying to find your own inner peace and creativity in a copycat world of the same old same old. The vocal groove is more tranquil than the lyrical intent and build and that makes the song feel ambiguously delightful. The ‘Dumb Shit’ grinds us all down and rarely are we able to distill those emotions with the clarity of this song. The lyrics video helps the truly get into the message and words of this track.”
“Penny Lame strikes Pop Punk gold with their latest single, ‘I don’t Talk To Boys That Make Me Cry.’ Fed up and pissed off, the lyrics leave no room for doubt that the time has come to move forward. The energy and build feel like Pink meshed with Avril Lavigne with an old school splash of No Doubt tossed in for good measure. ”
“At only 20 years of age, Caroline Romano delivers a strong sense of emotional wisdom that permeates from her every performance. ‘Panic Attack’ is a slow building emotionally charge track that comes with the strong personal sense of a Taylor Swift Song and the strong vulnerability of Pink all with a unique edge that makes Romano her own star.”
“LVRBOY releases this lyrically intricate track about friendship and bad relationships. ‘sick of me’ is about friends sick of seeing you give a n ex chance after chance when they are undeserving and the conflicting emotions of being caught up in the middle. The sound is bold and as much Rock as Pop, but blends the lines quite well. ”
