Suspect Ed - First Class [Review]

November 24, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music, Hip-Hop, Electro Pop, Rap

Rating: 4 out of 5

“This is a track that shakes up the norms. Coming almost with a medley like vibe of shifting styles and delivery tones, Suspect Ed is tough to classify in any one genre. There is a definite Hip-Hop flow that works well, but the track also offers a nice 80’s style vocal hook that feels nostalgic, while also managing to come across as a modern Pop arrangement. Through multiple listens, I remained on the hook for this ‘First Class’ trip. ”

FCG Heem - "Haha" [Music Video Review]

November 20, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music Videos, Rap, Hip-Hop, Conscious, Autotune

    Rating: 4 out of 5

“There are no shortage of tracks calling out haters and naysayers, but FCG Heem gives us a little something different with the laid back easy going vibe of his track, ‘Haha.’ Lyrically the flow is easy to follow and and settle in on and overall the vibe is light and airy coming with an almost island like vibe at times.”

Ja3 Harris x Yung Ice x Tay Grizzy - Pop My Shit [Music Video Review]

November 20, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music Videos, Rap

      Rating: 3.5 out of 5

“Sometimes you just need to sway and move. Ja3 Harris, Yung Ice, and Tay Grizzy give you the chance to do just last with their steady flows delivered over a tranquil bounce groove and beat that sits with you start to finish.

Lyrically the hook is relied heavily on to carry the momentum though it still works well because of the production and delivery. The video offers no real surprises but is good for a few smiles.”

Brit Fox x 10Bagz - Lasso (Like A Rodeo) [Review]

November 20, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music, Rap, Autotune

        Rating: 4 out of 5

“Brit Fox has been described as the female Rick Rubin, but truth be told, Fox’s talents stand on their own and need no comparison. Joined here by 10 Bagz, Fox deliver the sultry attitude and energy with a brand new single , ‘Lasso.’

This is a banger that works for the club or rolling down the boulevard. Coming with energy and a hint of bounce, this track will indeed wrap around you like a placed lasso.”

          Darci - Lights [Review]

November 19, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music, Alternative, Contemporary R&B, Rap

          Rating: 4 out of 5

“Can a track be both low key smooth and hype at the same time? If so, ‘Lights,’ the newest offering from Darci might pull of the trick.

Coming with a tranquil calm vibe, this flow is delivered with an almost detached allure, though lyrically the track is about the potential of the night and the excitement it just might bring about.”

.wavrunner - uh huh, i like it [Review]

November 18, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music, Commercial, Rap

            Rating: 4 out of 5

“Who is ready for some energetic Disco infused Club music? ‘Uh Huh, I like It’ from .wavrunner brings a Rap flow, but feels more like a mash of 70s Disco funk and West Coast Club music than anything else. The groove is magical and the spirit a vibe all of its own. Get on board and get moving with this track.”

Evan from Heaven - The Way It Is (ft. ill civilian) [Review]

November 18, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music, Rap, Hip-Hop, Conscious

              Rating: 3.5 out of 5

“Sometimes a track just works with a simplistic, heartfelt delivery. ‘The Way It Is’ landed for me in such a way.

Evan from Heaven delivers the track with a stripped down, no frills flow that works in a genuine and honest way. The production behind the track stays out of the way, while still managing to add a bit of emotion to the groove. I did find myself wishing the track were a little longer and took the lyrics just a bit further.”

                WoBandz - SouthBeach [Review]

November 18, 2020 by Kreadiv Kesh in Rap

                Rating: 4 out of 5

“I was skeptical at first from the first few seconds. However, once the song took off I started rocking with it hard. WoBandz ‘s new single ‘SouthBeach’ is about moving how you want to move and living life to the fullest. The beat is defiantly a banger you can’t take your ears away from. i even had to run it back one more time. ”

                  Kit DH - Ten [Review]

November 14, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music, Rap

                  Rating: 4 out of 5

“Kit DH drops a bit of funk flavor with this Rap track that fuses a fast flow, with a nice groove and beat that keeps you leaning in. Adding some bounce on the back end ‘Ten’ holds your focus as those hard hitting lines sink in and take root. Count ‘em up! ”

Infectious lyrics and a beat that prepares you for a hit ‘4RealTho’. Day Lee’s new single is full of energy from a vintage perspective. With PnB Rock vocals accompanying the sound the two are seen hitting the streets and jamming to the beat.”

“Bringing the old school beats and bars vibe, GoodLook drops ‘Rich Dance’ on us. With a hearty dose of confident swagger, the track is about flashing them racks in the face of the world with no damn regard for what anyone else thinks. THe beat and rhythm keep the flow bouncing on this track, that doesn’t exactly reinvent the wheel, but for damn sure puts a little flair on your next spin.”

“LiBand ( Blow Up And Never Die) is exactly what he is doing by releasing hits. His new song ‘Due Date’ is a smooth rap song featuring Toosii. The young 16-year-old artist is bringing an unexpected sound to the music game. In his new visual he is seen sitting at a desk with nothing but money as he tells the story of his life but reminds everyone its still about the money and success. He is going to keep on thuggin til his ‘Due Date’. ”

The energy gathers you in on this track and the lyrical flow comes straight at you in a way that is irresistible. Get ready to move with this one.”

Othenic x Spencer Schmitt - Ricky Bobby [Review]

October 08, 2020 by Kreadiv Kesh in Rap
“Who is Ricky Bobby? A Nascar character from the movie Talladega Nights.

When you hear Nascar and nights you think fast and exciting right? Well that is exactly what Othenic and Spencer Schmitt gives in their new single Ricky Bobby. Radio friendly, Tik-Tok approved, and mixed and mastered out of his bedroom; this song has a beat that keeps you going. Every flow is dope like the 80s but the two also come on strong allowing their energy to be consistent.”

THE LAST ALEXANDER - Break Da Safe [Review]

October 05, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music, Rap, Hip-Hop, Conscious

                                  Rating: 4 out of 5

“This track utilizes the beat and production behind it as well as any music out there. The writing comes with a solid hook, and the vibe is made all the stronger for the way it is unfurled around the beat rather than on top if it. The flow is engaging and the lyrics wryly sharp, making this a track you can easily connect to, and fall in step with. ”

Covaboy - Second Wind [Music Video Review]

October 05, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music Videos, Rap, Hip-Hop, Conscious

                                    Rating: 4 out of 5

“Packing a lyrical punch that delivers power and truths of the world we live in, Covaboy’s track, ‘Second Wind’ is the kind of song that sticks with you long after the last note.

Coming with an old school 90’s Rap vibe, the beat and flow are direct and unflinching. The haunting vocal sample frames the piece well and really adds an emotional layer to the track.”

Don’t be fooled by the ‘Oops’ and mocking tone of his latest track, he ain’t playin’ play. This is aa fun lively track full of wry humor and swag in pure Yung Gravy style. Get on board and have some fun by checking out Yung Gravy’s entire new album, Gasanova, which is out now.”

Dex Channels - Last Sunday [Review]

“Vulnerable honest is not a vibe that makes its way into the Hip-Hop world as oftena s it should, but at times you find that one track that simply lays it out in such an engaging way you can’t help but fall in. Such is the case with ‘LAst Sunday’ from Dex Channels.

Dex Channels, formerly known as Backstreet Peejay, is a based out of Orlando, FL. After a car wreck left his neck fractured, Channels had a change of heart which resulted in the artist’s rebirth and rebranding. The accident changed the whole pitch of his voice and this left Channels uncomfortable with his new sound for a little while making him adapt to new creative pockets. Hence, he gravitated towards a more limitless identity and sound. He’s a boundless artist who’s brand pushes the listener to be their original self.”
