Walden Ash - "Come & Go" [Video]
Walden Ash is a hip-hop artist from Canada’s west coast, Vancouver. BC. Best known for his hip-hop music, Ash consistently pushes the boundaries of the genre by effortlessly intertwining hard hitting beats with catchy hooks for a unique rap and R&B sound. His passion for music began at a young age, with rhymes of rap legends like Eminem and 50 Cent first catching his attention back in elementary school. With the support of his family and friends, Ash later decided to try his hand at recording his own music and released his debut single “ IDGAF ft Problem ” in January 2016, garnering over 70K plays on Spotify. During the launch party of his Monster Mixtape, Ash got OVO/Reps Up and fellow Canadian hip-hop artist P Reign (now Preme) to host his mixtape release party at Fortune Sound Club in downtown Vancouver, helping put Canada’s urban west side on the map. More recently, Ash released the music video for his new single Come & Go off his Always Knew mixtape, gaining 80,000 views and nearly 200 shares on his Facebook fan-page in the first week, and is busy working on collaborations with other artists in the game. South London’s AyHay is one of those rare hip hop artists who is able to combine a fun, comical approach to music making with witty bars, catchy hooks and on point hip hop/trap production. His latest single ‘On My Life’ showcases this skill of writing stick in your head trap tunes with trademark comical visuals to boot. He has fast become known for creating comical music videos, blending 90’s US Hip Hop and trap with catchy choruses and hard hitting 808’s.
Never one to take himself too seriously with his video content, he’s delivered a colourful eccentric video, shot in Norway and directed by himself and Pia Nara Thorsen. "It started off as a freestyle and when I listened back I was going to change the verses to make them more complex in terms of lyrics and flow but they were just too catchy to change. I sent my friend a demo version and asked if I should change the verses and he said "No, it's perfect, don't change a thing!”
Ayhay first become known to the hip hop scene after he featured in a TEAMBACKPACK cypher , showcasing his bars to US crowds whilst on tour. Earlier this year, Peezy signed to Bay legend E-40's Sick Wid It Records, eventually grabbing a deal with 300. Today, he's announcing his debut EP, Humble Beginnings, which is scheduled for an October release and is exclusively produced by Cardo (who's also worked with the likes of Drake, Kendrick Lamar, and Jeezy, among others). He says he learned a lot in the process of putting together an entire body of work. "All my life, if I wasn't feeling something, I'd just stop it and move onto the next thing. But I learned that putting a whole tape together, you could record one song that you don't like but that don't mean you gotta put it on the tape. I'm sitting on 90-95 songs right now. But I'm only putting six songs on Humble Beginnings.
