Margø - "Too Much" [Review]

June 07, 2021 by Kreadiv Kesh in Commercial, Electro Pop

Rating: 4 out of 5

“Margo comes in vocally strong and direct over a heavy bass. The new single “Too Much” is a fierce yet dark pop track that talks about the voices in your head. When you look in the mirror you tend to battle with yourself. The battle of the mind is a strong force that tends to be “Too Much” ”

EMELINE - flowers & sex [Review]

June 05, 2021 by Travis Erwin in Music, Electro Pop

    Rating: 4.5 out of 5

“She means it when she says .... All I want is ‘Flowers & Sex.’

EMELINE speaks her intentions with direct clarity on this Electro Pop track that hooks you in immediately. The alluring production and sultry delivery work in perfect unison to establish a mood. And that mood is get to it, and quit talking about it.”

      Mustafa Sal - johnnysixteen [Review]

June 04, 2021 by Travis Erwin in Music, Electro Pop, Singer/Songwriter, Bedroom
“An anthem for Gen Z, ‘johnnysixteen’ is a smooth Pop groove telling the story of a young man trying a find his place in the world. That theme is of course universal through the ages, but Mustafa Sal does a great job of capturing the thoughts, fears and attitudes of his generation. ”

Tyra Jutai - Frida [Music Video Review]

May 30, 2021 by Travis Erwin in Music Videos, Electro Pop, Alternative, Indie Electronic, R&B, Commercial

        Rating: 4.5 out of 5

“Tyra Jutai knows how to tell a story, and tell it well. Here that story comes in the form of an Electro Pop Murder Ballad and beyond the strong storytelling and sultry emotive delivery is an eerie delivery that conjured strong thoughts of Amy Winehouse for me.

The track is bold and in your face both musically and visually with the delightfully sinister imagery of the video.”

KINGS - ur a good bye [Review]

May 28, 2021 by Travis Erwin in Music, Electro Pop, Commercial

          Rating: 4.5 out of 5

“KINGS comes with a vocal performance that hooks the listener immediately. ‘ur a good bye’ is shiny Pop gold, but that is not to say the emotion of the writing doesn’t emote through in the performance or writing. This is a big bold sound that wraps around you and makes you want to move and shout HELL YEAH! at the affirmations, because we’ve all had those good, goodbyes. ”

emlyn - B.O.M.B. [Music Video Review]

May 21, 2021 by Travis Erwin in Music Videos, Electro Pop, Commercial, Pop, Rock
“Self described as a ‘Banger for Haters,’ emlyn is Back On Her Bullshit, or ‘B.O.M.B’ if you will. And the result is pure Electro Pop glory as she lays down a pissed off energy and emotional vibe for the engaging track.

Big bold vocals and an attitude that permeates every word and line are the fuse for this musical explosion.”

JEFFE - Home [Music Video Review]

May 21, 2021 by Travis Erwin in Music Videos, Electro Pop

              Rating: 4 out of 5

“Knock knock ... Who’s There? THat’s the question JEFFE asks, but this track is no joke. Evaluating ourselves, both in the mirror,a nd internally is something we all do and as our harshest critics sometimes we need a reminder to simply live our lives and stop seeking perceived perfection, because the truest beauty often comes from the flows and fears and all the stuff we often run from.

This Electro Pop track offers a catchy rhythm and a nice lyrical hook that grabs hold and refuses to let go. ”

FAANGS - I Don't Care [Music Video Review]

May 14, 2021 by Travis Erwin in Music, Electro Pop

                Rating: 4.5 out of 5

“For everyone who who has boldly proclaimed IDGAF!, ‘I Don’t Care,’ is the title track for the soundtrack of your life. FAANGS infuses the single with attitude and a reserved brand of disdain for the world. The track is both an Electro Pop party anthem, and a self-reflective ode to doing your own thing all at the same time. And the video adds a nice touch of imagery to aid in the mood. ”

Haley Gold - Knock Yourself Out [Review]

May 14, 2021 by Travis Erwin in Music, Electro Pop

                  Rating: 4 out of 5

“This track does an excellent job of mixing a light Pop vibe with a heavier emotional set of lyrics, and the song really does feel like a conversation between two friends. Haley Gold delivers an earnest honesty as she slyly warns her friend about the dangers of dating one of her exes and the result is engaging and articulate while still managing to be entertaining. ”

April 09, 2021 by Travis Erwin in Music, Electro Pop, Commercial

“Few things can mold and shape us like newfound love. None of us came through life unscathed, so we all carry some form of baggage into any relationship we enter. But true, honest love overcomes those things and often melds the past into something that we can better face and deal with.

This catchy, hook-driven track works off that premise, and we can feel the emotional momentum as it builds with the track. Lyrically, I did crave a bit more, but the emption and sound still come across in this track from Kory Shore. ”

“Life is a battle. We keep so much inside that our thoughts become a battle. Intrn and w00ds introduce us to a new single ‘I Deserve More’. It’s about having a revolution of wanting more and knowing you deserve more. The delivery is calm and the tempo stays the same but you are pulled in by the songwriting. We all deserve someone who loves us just as much as we love them. ”

Lyrics: (Verse 1) I can’t keep this up Sometimes words aren't enough And I’m struggling to be here Let my head wander off ‘Cause I’d rather be lost Than to face all I’ve run from this year (Pre-Chorus) And I’m grasping On to anything Disregarding the truth that I (Chorus) I deserve more I deserve someone who loves me too I deserve more I deserve someone who loves like I do (Verse 2) I wish you the best And it’s hard to admit But I know that I’ll figure it out While I’m banging my head Hanging on by a thread ‘Cause I’m scared that I may have missed out (Pre-Chorus) And I’m grasping On to anything Disregarding the truth that I (Chorus) I deserve more I deserve someone who loves me too I deserve more I deserve someone who loves like I do X2 (Outro) I deserve more I deserve someone who loves me too I deserve more I deserve someone who loves like I do

There are defiente Pop styling to this track, but ‘Do Better’ exudes a sultry vulnerability that goes beyond the genre and feels almost folksy in a Commercial leaning way. ”

“Inspired by the great literary love stories, Emlyn has given us a passionate love song of sorts, despite the fact she admits to never having been in love herself.

’A Thousand Parties’ is a big bold Pop track that would be right at time on a Demi Lovato album. The boisterous vocals drive it all home giving this track a huge presence.”

What If Elephants x Flara K - Guilty Pleasure [Review]

“I for one do not think we should feel guilty about pursuing our pleasures, but there is no denying the saying ‘Guilty PLeasure’ makes for a nice hook here on this track. The two set of vocals intertwine and mix well in this energetic Electro Pop single.

Co-dependency has never been more fun than this lively track.”

On the Outside- How Beautiful [Review]

“ Take a look in the mirror and embrace who you are. On The Outside’s new single ‘How Beautiful’ is kicking out apologies and encouraging everyone to love who they are. The songs promotes body positivity and explains to everyone even if there is one thing you don’t like that is one thing that makes you perfect to someone else.”

“They have been coined “The Official Boy Band of TikTok”. Comprised of five immensely talented members Andrew Bloom, Dawson Huckabee, Devin Hayes, Jon Klaasen and Sam Jenkins, the Los Angeles-based group proposes a reevaluation of beauty standards ahead of a fast-approaching International Women’s Day. Aligned with their gripping new single “How Beautiful”, On the Outside challenges society’s comparison culture’ in order to uplift those who feel weighed down by an unrealistic beauty bar. Partnered with the JED Foundation, the band leads a conversation in acknowledgement of a social landscape overrun with anxiety, depression, suicide and poor self esteem. Very much in sync with their army of dedicated fans affectionately known as “Outsiders”, the band encourages everyone to embrace what makes them unique by finding the beauty within. ”

On The Outside’s “How Beautiful” is a song inspired by today’s comparison culture. Social media and contemporary advertising campaigns continue to set an unrealistic beauty bar that focuses an emphasis on physical beauty rather than the inner beauty within all of us. The result is a society overrun with anxiety, depression, suicide and poor self esteem. The lyrical intent of “How Beautiful” is to refocus the lens of what beauty is and how beauty can be found everywhere...and in everyone. In the verses, the lyric asks the listener to stop apologizing for not living up to unattainable standards and “take some time to learn what’s inside”. The song builds with the pre-chorus plea of “I wish you could see what I see” suggesting perhaps that often times the glare of our own mirrors hides what makes us shine. Finally, the chorus is almost mantra-like in its simplicity posing the simple, yet often difficult question...”do you even know just how beautiful you are?”. The sincere hope behind “How Beautiful” is to help reshape how we see ourselves and encourages everyone to find what makes them uniquely beautiful. If you look a little deeper, it exists in all of us.

SunKiss gives a dramatic yet interesting song. A solo comes in around the 2 mark but this is sure a song you will find yourself singing along with. It’s one of those songs that really doesn’t make sense but sounds so damn good. ”

A feel good track with a nice energy, this could be one of those tracks that dominates airwaves and earbuds this coming summer,a s it delivers that kind of Pop magic vibe.”

“Coming straight in with pure Pop glory, AJA is qucikly establishing her presence. At only 16, she has the talent and emotive vocal style that is perfect for delivery fun, yet meaningful songs. Rejecting an unwanted call by hitting that ‘Red Button’ can be cathartic in its own right as it returns the power to those who have been done wrong. ”
