Maddie Regent - Sleeptalking [Music Review]

August 16, 2024 by Travis Erwin in Music, Electro Pop, Commercial

Rating: 4 out of 5

“Maddie Regent has a sweet undertone to her vocals, but this track definitely deals with some tough emotions and heavy problems. ‘Sleeptalking’ deals with self-sabotaging and doubt.

We’ve all experienced time where we should be happy or content but for whatever reason remain unsatisfied and unsettled. And the questions we then have to ask ourselves is why, and are those feelings warranted? ”

Chymes - Voodoo Doll [Music Review]

August 15, 2024 by Travis Erwin in Music, Alternative, Pop, Electro Pop

    Rating: 4 out of 5

“Aussie Alt-Pop stare Chymes is back putting a pin her her vocal prowess with ‘Voodoo Doll.’

The track delivers a hint of danger and a whole lot of sultry to the sound. Almost like vintage Britney, Chymes has a siren like effect onlistners as she draws them in ever closer with every line. ”

CYRIL x Dean Lewis - Fall At Your Feet [Music Video Review]

August 03, 2024 by Travis Erwin in Music Videos, Electro Pop, Commercial

      Rating: 4.5 out of 5

“CYRlL is back on the heels of his massive hit ‘Stumblin’ In’ is back alongside Dean Lewis. This pair of Aussies gives us ‘Fall At Your Feet’ a big soaring Electro Pop track that grabs hold of your heart and refuses to let go. ”

Shannon Dooley - Gold [Music Review]

August 02, 2024 by Travis Erwin in Music, Electro Pop, Commercial

        Rating: 3.5 out of 5

“Shannon Dooley conveys an easy confidence on this track. ‘Gold’ is a dreamy Pop track that feels a bit surreal in the sultry tones and song song cadence. An easy track to fall in and sing along with this one has a girls night out party vibe that is sure to resonate with many of our readers.”

Fiona Grey - Beer Drunk Glory Days [Music Video Review]

August 02, 2024 by Travis Erwin in Music Videos, Indie Pop, Electro Pop, Commercial

          Rating: 4 out of 5

“Fiona Grey was voted LA’s Best Pop Artist by LA Weekly back in 2018 and time has only honed her skill and craft as both a songwriter and a performer. The imagery of this video is as powerful as the writing, and the emotional journey of this track is one that you can feel in every note. Grey is a star, but one that clearly is patient enough to do it her own way.”

Don Diablo x R3HAB - Disco Marathon (feat. NEEKA) [Music Review]

June 17, 2024 by Travis Erwin in Music, Electro Pop, House

            Rating: 3.5 out of 5

“Dan Diablo and R3HAB join forces along with NEEKA to create a song that is best described as ABBA meets 2024.

The track has both an Electro Pop and House music vibe and the resulting sound is hard not to fall in and sing along with. The beat and production are just as engaging as the vocal performance.

A fun track that will put a smile on your face and some sway in those hips. Give ‘Disco Marathon’ a listen and feel the mesh of the 70’s as it blends with the spirit of today.”

Fast Money Music - Space Opera [Music Review]

June 17, 2024 by Travis Erwin in Music, Indie Electronic, Indie Pop, Electro Pop

              Rating: 4 out of 5

“Riding a nostalgic 80s vibe at times, Fast Money Music, launches ‘Space Opera’ into orbit, and the fun offering is one with some true gravitational pull.

New Wave synths, horns, an indifferent brand of attitude and defiance permeates the entire thing. Unique in all the best ways this track is simply a vibe start to finish.”

Rita Ora - Ask And You Shall Receive [Music Video Review]

June 01, 2024 by Travis Erwin in Music Videos, Electro Pop

                Rating: 3 out of 5

“The video is visually appealing and will have boys and men alike lined up to watch the obvious attempt to district with sexuality. Musically, the track has obvious talent, but isn’t exactly reinventing the wheel.

’Ask And You Shall Receive’ is pleasing enough in tone and structure, though the song does not offer enough uniqueness or originality to be more than a flash.

Overt eye candy aside, this song simply uses a tried and true Pop formula to carve a temporary mark on the musical headboard.”

“You ever been having a good time and the all of a sudden hear a song that gets you emotional? Lunar June’s l-o-v-e is about the thoughts a song can trigger. The visual is simple but cool at the same time. Despite the length of the song this is a cool track.”

That Brunette - birthday boi [Music Review]

February 27, 2024 by Travis Erwin in Music, Electro Pop

                    Rating: 4 out of 5

“That Brunette gives us a track of nostalgia and societal defiance. An anthem of sorts against the norms, ‘birthday boi’ is about celebrating with that one friend you can be your true self with and forget the world is out there raging around you while you do.

This song lyrically feels like a teen movie from the 80s but the Electro Pop edge is decidedly modern and the combo is a great way to show that some things and emotions never change even if the world around us does. ”

Beks - Think About It [Music Review]

                      Rating: 4.5 out of 5

“Temptation lurks in the shadows for us all and Australian songstress, Beks takes on temptation with her latest single, ‘Think About It.’

For me the track is the antitheses of Miley’s hit ‘Flowers.’ the vibe has the same brand of independence though instead of a using that as a brand of revenge this track is about resistance.

The vocal talent and funky groove is pure Pop perfection, and I fully expect to hear this track all over the place in the coming months. ”

“Libby Whitehouse unleashed this energetic Pop track and it is exactly the kind of song that catches fire and goes viral. ‘OMG’ has a catchy hook that we can all song along to and the infectious beat transports us to a different time and place as we lose the world around us for a few minutes.

A fun song to throw your head back and sing along as you move to the beat.”

But we never know the full story or picture as outsiders, and chances are they are jealous of us in some way as well.

Rachel Newnham delivers the track is perfect Pop glory.”

The vocals and musical arrangement work well to bring out the stellar writing and I couldn’t help but smile and nod as I listened to Abigail Barlow define a new brand of princess or perhaps welcome the role of sultry villainess seductress. You pick.

Look for Barlow’s solo debut album Pop Princess to drop in 2024.”

Rosalie - Know Me Better [Music Review]

November 10, 2023 by Travis Erwin in Music, Electro Pop, Alternative, Pop

“True happiness is unattainable until a person can be happy by themselves. In other words if you don’t like you it doesn’t really matter how the world sees you.

’Know Me Better’ is an autobiographical song inspired by the question ... ‘What would dance music for introverts sound like?’

The result is a simultaneously chill and upbeat song that clearly has one foot in pop and one foot in electronic. Instead of dancing in the club, the song feels like dancing like no one is watching alone in your bedroom. Or jumping on your bed as an adult. It dives into the feeling of healing from being codependent, finally genuinely loving to spend time by yourself, and following your heart to see where it leads you.”

                                    Svetlana Toropoviene -Only Light [Review]

“To blend Electro Pop, Poetic Rap, and Latino will make anyone want to dance. Svetlana Toropoviene’s “Only Light” allows a listener to be pulled in by the melody and let the music take over their body as they dance the night away. This song will speak to your heart and allow a ray of light to be shown. If anyone was sad before listening to this song they will defiantly be happy afterwards. ”

Shannon Dooley - I’m Me [Music Review]

November 06, 2023 by Travis Erwin in Music, Electro Pop

                                      Rating: 3.5 out of 5

“Shannon Dooley has built a career but being talent and a touch defiant in that she doesn’t follow the norms with her sound. This gives us a unique sound that break many of the Pop/Commercial music molds while still having the appeal to fans of those genres.

’I’m Me’ highlights this aspect of Dooley very well, and almost seems to declare her fierce independence and talent for the world to hear. An artist willing and able to do it her way.”

                                        Sannia - august [Music Review]

October 26, 2023 by Travis Erwin in Music, Indie Pop, Electro Pop

                                        Rating: 4 out of 5

“As they say, you never forget your first love. ‘August’ was written about a lost love and the what-might-have-beens of that initial, tangible foray into dreaming of happily ever after.

Sannia delivers the lyrics with a mix of wistful nostalgia, and tender heartbreak to make you feel the heartbreak and lost opportunity. The track shifts from slow and tender to upbeat and regretful, and the blend is intoxicating. ”
