“Don’t vanish before you take a listen to this track by Confetti.
No matter which side of the ghosting phenomenon you find yourself on, you will appreciate the lyrics and energetic Alternative Rock vibe to this single. Catchy in a way ghosts, nor those bad Tinder dates, ever are, this is a track you will want to listen to more than once.”
“Bringing a throwback sound, Hudson Rainer has channeled the vibe of vintage Neil Young and The Band to give us a track that feels both nostalgic and fresh.
Stripped down emotional music at its best. I like it! ”
“This single puts off a solid Southern Rock vibe, but given Zuffalo hail from our neighbors up above, I suppose you will have to call this ... Northern Rock.
The high vocal register works well here and the guitar riffs are old school alluring.”
“This band out of Los Angeles describes themselves as LA Garagetronic. For me the sound came across as a dash of disco, and a whole lot of electro, but no matter how you describe it, this track has some juice.
The vocals are sexy in a dystopian kind of way, and the entire single does indeed ‘Glow.’”
“Banshee Child delivers a sound that will conjure images of Axl swaying with the microphone stand while a dripping wet Tawny Kitaen slides across the hood of a shiny red Camaro. In other words ... pure Rock and Roll.”
“Starting out with sweet vocals and a simple melody, ‘Coolest Kid’ turns dark and dangerous and heavy along the way — which is perfect the lyrics and subject matter.
A pop song that delves almost into a punk vibe, before settling into a heart breaker by the end.”
“With a melody that would feel at home in a James Bond flick, and vocals leaning toward the Punk side of rock, Notel Motel offers a unique blend of sounds. But the real hook here is the mesmerizing lyrics that keep you listening while wondering WTF they are going to say next. That is not to say the lyrics are ambiguous. No, they are simply unpredictable in all the best ways. ”
“Delivering unorthodox sounds via varying tempos, layers, and a mix of voices, Majjin Boo keeps each verse interesting and different.
Lyrically, this is a song that will take you multiple listens to digest the nuances, but because of the talent and skill you will not get that overexposed feeling as you do so.
Smart, intriguing, Alternative sound and I can’t wait to hear future offerings.”
“Drink up!
This is the fun magic stuff. Music that is catchy and draws you into another world and time. I encourage all to to imbibe fully in this rocking melodic ditty.”
“A song and set of visuals that bring home the point that life is to be lived. and lived in the moment. Dwelling in the past while playing a case of the what-ifs is a recipe for sadness and this track really explores what it means to bury those ideas as well as any and every unfortunate event you encounter.
With a surprising epic Rock sound, ‘Buried My Love’ is an emotional journey through time, space, and emotions. ”
“Few things in this world are as complicated as the relationship between two humans. The Criticals have captured that complexity perfectly with ‘Just For The Weekend.’ Not only with the melody and lyrical content, but also a performance that is soft, yet razor sharp at times.
Bringing a different sound than the last single featured here on LA on Lock, the band has proven they are multifaceted and complex themselves. Can’t wait to hear what they deliver next.”
“Straddling that edge between rock and country, Anna Rose brings hints of vintage Joan Jett, and Faith Hill at her best.
The melody is predictable at times, but the vocals bring passion and energy and music doesn’t always need to reinvent the wheel to deliver entertainment.”
“Letting go is tough to do, and sometimes it hurts more to see the other person let go too fast. This track takes those emotions and distills them down to a heartfelt Indie ode to that pain and frustration. The vocals are laced with heartache and the simply melody works well in tandem. ”
“Fun! Truthful! Genre bending!
Cab Ellis delivers a track that is all of the above and then some. A high-energy single about escaping ‘Suburbia’ to chase your dreams.”
“This single is a great example of music conveying mood and emotion. I do think they lyrics could have been fleshed out and expressed more, but the vocal performance and melody make the most of what is there to create and instill feelings and frankly, a lot of music fails to come even close to doing so.”
“Shining like a ‘Sequin Dress’ under a spotlight, Lone Wild’s single is a sparkling track about love on the dance floor. A disco era throwback with a modern edge, this is a song that is impossible not to sing along with.”
“A throwback to the glory days of Psychedelic Rock, ‘There’s Nothing Here To Bother You Anymore,’ takes you on a trip that not enough music traverses these days.”
“There is a hint of Freddy Mercury in the vocal tone, and a splash of Elton in the melody structure. Along with those influences are threads of classic Punk. The fusion is entertaining and engaging, just as rock and roll should be.”
“It is hard to believe this is the debut single from Jon Martin and Lovers, because ‘Young Hearts’ already has that big epic band sound. I hear Wilco, and Drive By Truckers, and a dash of Old 97s to this one and I can’t wait to hear where the band goes from here with their blend of Americana/Alternative/Indie Rock sound.”
“With a classic alternative sound, Places Back Home delivers a winning single with their recent release, ‘Refractions.’
Abrupt guitar changes and a mellow vocals help bring out lyrics that connect the emotional dots from the very beginning.”
