“Dark, alluring, and intriguing, ‘Throwing Darts’ is a track that arrives with pinpoint accuracy.
Powerful imagery to the songwriting and an engaging beat are perfect vessels for Bria Lee to showcase her talented vocals. ”
“This track feels strangely intimate which is odd given it was written after a voyeuristic moment from afar.
The vocals are haunting and beautiful and the writing itself suburb as it touches on emotions we all feel and display — even we we do not realize we are projecting certain elements of ourselves.”
“Given the genre of ‘Bye Bye,’ and the fact Sophie Gray is a burgeoning 15 yo pop starlet, there will no doubt be comparisons to Taylor Swift. However, that line is a tough one for me to draw.
Gray brings a heaver, songwriter vibe to this commercial mix and that somehow layers in an additional bit of emotion that transcends beyond youthful energy, to wise, world observer.”
“Letting go is tough to do, and sometimes it hurts more to see the other person let go too fast. This track takes those emotions and distills them down to a heartfelt Indie ode to that pain and frustration. The vocals are laced with heartache and the simply melody works well in tandem. ”
“Intricate and emotional writing are the hallmark of this song, but that is not to downplay the performance ... which is perfect in the delivery of such a single.
Trinity Rose might be “Coughing Up Flowers’ in the name of love, but her immersive singer/songwriter style has certainly created a delectable bouquet this time around.”
“This is the kind of musical anthem that has something to say to all of us. Despite our dreams,. hopes and intentions, none of us can guess for certain where we are headed, so we might as well “Let The Music Play’ and let life unfold.”
“Delivered with an intricate vocal performance that varied throughout, ‘Picture’ captivated me from the first verse to the end. The emotion is real, brought forward by a performance that is engaging and genuine.”
“An interesting timber to the vocals catches your attention right away. Lyrically the writing is strong and the melody fits well with the performance. The backing chant is a bit overdone in much of the music that toes that Indie Rock/Americana/Folk vibe and here too, it did feel a bit extraneous , but overall ‘Sideways’ moves forward in a positive manner.”
“Life is a grind that beats us all down at times. ‘I’m Still Here’ takes that fact and the emotions we face during that struggle and distills them into a beautifully delivered song that reminds us of our successes in the face of the every day strife. ”
“Smooth and soulful, this song moves seductively between Americana and a nice Retro Soul vibe. The edges of James’ voice pull at the emotional reluctance of falling in love and the melody brings the nuances out into a nice calm ride that is perfect for reflective thought.”
“JT Roach drops this soft acoustic plea to heart’s desire, and he does so with an earnest, genuine vibe.
We’ve all been in that position where we had to plead with someone, let ‘Make It Up To You.’ Now there is a soundtrack to those emotions.
Chances are JT is way smoother than you are, so keep this one in your playlists to send to your beloved the next time you screw up.”
“A haunting song about the effects we have on others. In this case, the dynamics of a father/daughter relationship and how that shapes future relationships.
Beautiful and chilling at the same time, this is a deeply reflective single.”
“ Love the arrangement. Really good tone. It just creates a vibe.”
“Elodie Reverie drops a dark and alluring single about heritage and passion for where she came from. Her sultry voice draws us in, adding to the mystery of the past.
This is the kind of track that will lure you to the dance floor, yet is also engaging and reflective enough to warrant play while sitting alone and thinking about the ghosts of your own pasts with a bit of Scotch in hand.
Reflective and entertaining, with elements of pop to give it just a hint of commercial texture in all the right places, ‘Skeleton Castle’ is a single with depth. ”
“Smooth and sultry, Effie delivers a single about submitting to your desire and allowing yourself to succumb to those wants. The real allure to these lyrics is that they are about the empowering euphoria of admitting what you want, rather than a submissive take me approach.
I don’t know where you went to church, but my idea of ‘Worship’ has never been this steamy and sexy. ”
“T-Smuv graces this track with his smooth vocals as he creates an aura of 90’s R&B love stories. Best of Me is a track not just for cuffing season but anniversaries because we all aim for that everlasting marathon type love. ”
“I do love when music delivers true emotion, straight and direct, and that is what Peyton Gilliland does with “Drag Me Under.’ Lyrics with meaning, and a vocal performance that starts tender and vulnerable, before exploding with anger and defiance. Creation and performance mesh to form a great song.”
“Love the vocal tone and how it breaks apart with vulnerability at times. I do feel like the beat and backing got in the way of the emotion in spots, but the songwriting is intriguing and the vocal performance very engaging.”
“With vocals that reminded of Elton John at times, Norman Kim unleashes a debut that demands we all pay attention.
Both the video and the lyrics of ‘Nothing Wring With My Life’ feel like fun and I can’t help but think I am watching to arrival of a brand new star. Not on the far off horizon, in the here and now.”
“Haunting and alluring, this ode to the magic of cannabis takes a smooth trip to a ethereal plane on the air of talented vocals from Lynn. ‘Weed Man’ brings a smokey indie pop vibe to the mix of marijuana inspired songs.”
