Cold Coke Hogan x Aras Davis - Why Am I Like This? [Review]

October 01, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music, Commercial, Alternative

Rating: 4 out of 5

“A trippy modern track about the act of self-doubt and self-loathing. We all second guess ourselves, and often take that too far by getting deep inside our heads. There are hints of classic Rock and thread that will remind some of Biliie Eilish, but overall this track creates its own sound and mood that is captivating in a dark and brooding kind of way. ”

October 01, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music, Singer/Songwriter

    Rating: 4.5 out of 5

“Liz Longley has the power to command attention with a single note. Like a friendly face you simply want to say hello to, Longley has a friendly voice that simply makes you want to stop and listen.

’Send You My Love’ is a about missing someone and we can all relate to that beyond the world of music but here you will fall in and sing along because the track is simply that engaging. ”

Dance Yourself Clean x Coquí - All Night [Review]

September 30, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music, Electro Pop

      Rating: 4 out of 5

“Most of us are sick of being quarantined at home, but someday the world will return to normal and the doors will be thrown up and and we can all return to the night life we crave.

’All Night’ is the kind of track that will motivate us to hit the dance floor and soak up the night alongside our friends when that day comes.”

Eon MC Etc. & Alkaline23 - Why You Doin It? [Review]

September 29, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music, Hip-Hop, Conscious

        Rating: 4 out of 5

“The flow comes with a low-key groove that allows the intricate lyrical progression to unfurl with ease. This allows the listener to truly connect with the words, and while tranquil in its approach, the flow does emote a nice bit of passion and emotion. The words feel true and real, while establishing a rhythm that pulls you along and keeps you leaning in on the track.”

Tree Thomas feat. IAMSU!- Tick Tok [Music Video Review]

September 28, 2020 by Kreadiv Kesh in R&B, Singer/Songwriter, Music Videos

          Rating: 3.5 out of 5

“With efforts to ban Tik Tok, songs like this are reminders why the app still lives. Tree Thomas is giving energy in the single Tick Tok. From dancing to cruising on set Tree ‘s new single is a beat that keeps playing in your head even when the song is over. There’s no pause in dancing whether at home, in the club or on Tik Tok.”

As Iamjordan works in the lab he strives to find a cure and F Cancer while giving the world hope.”

Icon South ft. Quin NFN & Neko Savvy - Jangalang <Prod. by Icon South> [Review]

September 27, 2020 by Travis Erwin

              Rating: 4 out of 5

“The allure of this beat and groove will seduce you in such a way that you can’t help but fall in and lose yourself to this groove. The vocal flows come with their own fervor and swagger and all of that wraps around your soul. I suppose to bold, brash sexaully charged lyrics could offend some off, but the track is a pure slapper with an inescapable hook to the vibe so unless you are easily confronted, put this one on, and get down to ‘Jangalang.’”

Blame My Youth - Fantastic [Music Video Review]

September 26, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music Videos, Alternative, Indie Rock, Rock

                Rating: 4 out of 5

“In a time when much of the music is about angst and tension, this track offers a nice contradiction. Although they are delivered with the edge and passion usually reserved for anger, the lyrics of this track are actually quite positive and it is refreshing to hear such a big bold declaration in pure Rock glory. ”

The Wilderness - Graveyard [Music Video Review]

September 26, 2020 by Travis Erwin

                  Rating: 4.5 out of 5

“The track has a definite Pop style, though there is an underlying intensity, that gives the track the needed edge to make you truly pay attention. The accompanying video adds to that gritty side of a track that equates being stuck in a rut with the finality of death. The metaphor speaks loud and the strong writing in conjunction with the emotive vocal performance is what elevates this single.”

“The slow and melancholic build here is mesmerizing. Enok Amrani write this song over a two year period as his way to make a statement about drug addiction and the emotional toll. Released for World Overdose Awareness Day, the track is meant to be a reminder to those struggling that they do not have to make the walk alone.”

                      Rating: 4.5 out of 5

“This is the kind of honest songwriting that defies genre by simply resonating with the soul. Coupled with the soft, genuine vocal performance, the track offers both heartache and hope.

As does life, this single offers a befuddling array of emotions — with ups and downs riding shotgun throughout the journey. Kris Angelis is in the driver’s seat either way, as she sings this well-written ode to to dichotomy of the human experience.”

Dylan Dunlap - What We Had [Review]

                        Rating: 4.5 out of 5

“Dylan Dunlap openly sings about the marks his father’s departure has left on him. Delivered in a soulful groove that lands between full out Pop and more of a singer/songwriter Indie Rock vibe, but the genre isn’t really important, when the lyrics are this honest, and the vocal performance delivers the passion behind them with this much precision and feeling. ”

“Growing older is not for the weak. ‘Omg’ from the band Fialta, takes on the emotional dynamics of having one foot planted in the carefree realm of unbridled youth, and another foot tiptoeing into the unknown of spectrum of ... I can’t keep doing the same old shit as my 20’s fade away.

The single is fun and quirky though sobering at times. This is one to both sing along to and contemplate over afterward.”

Love Ghost - Pillz (the sky is falling) [Music Video Review]

September 25, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music Videos, Hip-Hop, Alternative

                            Rating: 4 out of 5

“A brooding moody track with both lyrical grit, and a heavy emotional set of vocals. Blending a slow tempo Hip-Hop flow with an Alternative Rock sound, and a vocal delivery that gives the track a sharp edge, this performance brings enough variation within the arrangement to hold your intrigue through this heavy emotional track.

Love Ghost is a hard band to pin down by genre, but the talent looms large in the dark shadows of this single.”

Lucy Eaton - Rotten Love [Review]

September 25, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music, Singer/Songwriter, Folk

                              Rating: 4.5 out of 5

“I will confess that very early on, the ukulele left me dubious about this track, but then Lucy Eaton’s stellar songwriting took over and I was pulled in and emotionally invested by both the writing and the performance.

This track is very Folksy in sound, but even if that is not your jam, the power of the lyrics cannot and will not be denied. Exploring the generosity of love, ‘Rotten Love’ is a fresh take on the emotion of love and that is of course no easy feat given the plethora of songs dealing with affairs of the heart. ”

Dex Channels - Last Sunday [Review]

September 25, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music, Rap, Hip-Hop, Conscious

                                Rating: 4 out of 5

“Vulnerable honest is not a vibe that makes its way into the Hip-Hop world as oftena s it should, but at times you find that one track that simply lays it out in such an engaging way you can’t help but fall in. Such is the case with ‘LAst Sunday’ from Dex Channels.

Dex Channels, formerly known as Backstreet Peejay, is a based out of Orlando, FL. After a car wreck left his neck fractured, Channels had a change of heart which resulted in the artist’s rebirth and rebranding. The accident changed the whole pitch of his voice and this left Channels uncomfortable with his new sound for a little while making him adapt to new creative pockets. Hence, he gravitated towards a more limitless identity and sound. He’s a boundless artist who’s brand pushes the listener to be their original self.”

Benz Paul x The Crushboys - Dear Homie,...I Reject You [Remix]

September 25, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music, Contemporary R&B, Commercial, Autotune

                                  Rating: 4.5 out of 5

“Sometimes a song strikes the perfect tone to bring forth the vibe of the lyrics, and that is the case here with ‘Dear Homie, ... I Reject You.’

In what would could be described as an emotively flat tone, Benz Paul offers the perfect set of vocals to make you feel these particular lyrics. The melancholic distance is the perfect vibe here, and the combination is very engaging as the performance and writing blend to set a mood that grips the listener hard.”

Richard - The One [Music Video Review]

September 25, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music Videos, Commercial

                                    Rating: 4 out of 5

“Strong lyrics and a tender emotional delivery made this track stand out for me. The fact Richard has the kind of looks that force adoring fans to fall in love with more than the music, will certainly help his career take off.

I suppose that fact and the added commonality of being Canadian will draw comparisons to Bieber, but my initial reaction is that ‘The One’ is better than any of Bieber’s early work.”

“Coming straight at you with an infectious brand of energy, Veridia demands your attention with their latest single, ‘Light It Up.’ Sometimes the best thing I can do is get out of the way and provide a link to the tracka nd a quote from the artists, so here you go ...

’Our new single, “Light it Up” is about being inspired by those brave enough to speak up and take action against injustice and advocating for human rights with love and grace. This song isn’t condoning violence or literal arson, it’s about our internal, metaphorical fires of compassion and strength that spark real change. It was inspired by the resilient people in my personal life and those who strive and hope every day for a more unified tomorrow... .’ ~ Deena Jakoub”
