anees - Leave Me [Music Video Review]

August 26, 2022 by Travis Erwin in music, Music Videos, Contemporary R&B, Commercial, Adult Contemporary

Rating: 4.5 out of 5

“A smooth easy groove with Reggae and Pop influences in the tone and delivery. An ode to love and the disappointment we fell when we let that other person down and do them wrong. The pain is tangible and the passion emotes through in every line. A song of directness and emotional pain that is an apology of sorts but also a pledge to be better. ”

J.R.Clark - Perception [Music Video Review]

June 13, 2022 by Kreadiv Kesh in music, Music Videos

    Rating: 3.5 out of 5

“J.R. Clark intro is smooth as he lays down the facts of life when dealing with people. “Perception” is about giving and taking. If you had less money would people look at you the same as if you were rich. You never know who is real and who is fake so you observe your surroundings and move accordingly.”

Sam Tompkins - (W)hole [Music Video Review]

August 13, 2021 by Kreadiv Kesh in Music Videos, music

      Rating: 4 out of 5

“An elevator is a small space that when too many people are in it it can be overwhelming. Justin Bieber’s championed artist Sam Tompkins releases new single and visual (W)hole.

He is seen on an elevator and as he goes through different floors it takes him through different experiences with people. The symbolism is when life is overloaded there is still a way to clear it all out. ”

Idst - Porn of My Soul [Review]

September 08, 2020 by Kreadiv Kesh in music

        Rating: 3.5 out of 5

“Alternative Rock is a demanding genre. Idst new single ‘Porn of My Soul’ is delivered with a demanding undertone. Idst talks about being afraid and hiding over a heavy rock melody. The mid point is accompanied but a instrumental solo with reveal of reality. ”

All My Friends Hate Me - Blood [Review]

July 18, 2020 by Travis Erwin in music, Indie Rock, Indie Pop, Punk

          Rating: 4.5 out of 5

“My job as a reviewer usually involves me summarizing and then encapsulating a song to bring it alive to entice potential listeners in a scant few words. But sometimes it is best to let the artist describe their track and this is the case on this one ...

This is a confession. Sorry, mom.

’Blood’ is about the 14-year-old insomniac kid I used to be, who was dying to get out of a small town, and would do pretty much anything to feel alive. I used to wait until my mom went to sleep so I could ‘borrow”‘ the car keys and take my friends on late-night joyrides in her beat up Volvo. For some reason, a LOT of those nights ended with all of us laughing at each other, and bleeding all over a grocery store parking lot, after trying to pull off Jackass stunts in shopping carts.

It’s the ‘Blood’ that made us who we are. ”

            60 East - Summer's Song [Review]

January 13, 2020 by Kreadiv Kesh in music, Hip-Hop

            Rating: 4 out of 5

“Theres nothing like the love of a father for his child. Summer’ song is a story about a father and how he named his daughter. He recaps his interaction with her from when they first met the small things that she would do and the relationship he has with her mother. He compares her to the sun and also how he wants to see her shine in anything that she will do. 60 East is an example that there are good and loving fathers out there.”

True Rock and Roll isn’t dead so don’t let your playlists get lost in the land of ‘Smoke & Mirrors” music production and instead give this old world approach a listen. ”

Travel With The Sun - Flaws [Review]

August 28, 2019 by Kreadiv Kesh in Commercial, music

“In an acoustic piano melody accompanied by sentimental vocals Travel With the Sun’s new single “Flaws” reveals how no one is perfect but the first step is communication.”
                            — Kreadiv Kesh (LA On Lock Blogger)

The powerfully relatable acoustic single “Flaws” marks Swedish band Travel With The Sun’s second release this year. Following the warm reception of “Dry Ink” in Latin America and Europe, the quartet now presents us with the naked vulnerability of an acoustic love confession that might draw associations to Muse. Evoking the conclusive feeling of a show’s end credits, “Flaws” demonstrates the band’s broad musical versatility without abandoning their characteristic filmic sound. Together with “Dry Ink”, the track will be included in the band’s upcoming album “Psycho”, to be released in November.

edbl - Table for Two [Review]

August 12, 2019 by Travis Erwin in music, Hip-Hop, Conscious

                                Rating: 4 out of 5

“This is a fun, jazzy track with a beat that thumbs like your heartbeat giving it a natural, hip-hop groove that is hard not to move in rhythm with.

The vocal flow is both sweet and sexy at the same time, and lyrically it puts a new spin on being happy in love.”

“A dark, almost ethereal, melody and beat set the tone for a set of lyrics that come at you with a steady and emotional flow. The track unfolds like inner dialogue for the first three minutes before morphing into a statement on coping with the world. Almost feels like two songs, but poignant all the way through. ”

“Dance with reckless abandon to this track about ... reckless abandon.

’Break My Heart’ is a single explaining why we sometimes rush in headfirst to a situation we know will not end well. Why? Because sometimes you just have to. ”
