Julian Lamadrid - 15 Minutes [Music Video Review]

April 16, 2021 by Travis Erwin in Music Videos, Electro Pop, Indie Rock

Rating: 4 out of 5

“Julian Lamadrid conjures up the style of Prince, the vibe of Timberlake, and the energy of Bruno here on on this track. ‘15 Minutes’ is an energetic Electro Pop joy ride with an artistic flair that is undeniable. This is a track you will be hearing a lot of this summer and beyond.”

    Kory Shore - IDKAT [Review]

April 09, 2021 by Travis Erwin in Music, Electro Pop, Commercial

    Rating: 3.5 out of 5

“Few things can mold and shape us like newfound love. None of us came through life unscathed, so we all carry some form of baggage into any relationship we enter. But true, honest love overcomes those things and often melds the past into something that we can better face and deal with.

This catchy, hook-driven track works off that premise, and we can feel the emotional momentum as it builds with the track. Lyrically, I did crave a bit more, but the emption and sound still come across in this track from Kory Shore. ”

      INTRN x w00ds - I Deserve More [Review]

March 30, 2021 by Kreadiv Kesh in Commercial, Music Videos, Electro Pop

      Rating: 5 out of 5

“Life is a battle. We keep so much inside that our thoughts become a battle. Intrn and w00ds introduce us to a new single ‘I Deserve More’. It’s about having a revolution of wanting more and knowing you deserve more. The delivery is calm and the tempo stays the same but you are pulled in by the songwriting. We all deserve someone who loves us just as much as we love them. ”
      — Kreadiv Kesh (LA On Lock Blogger)

Lyrics: (Verse 1) I can’t keep this up Sometimes words aren't enough And I’m struggling to be here Let my head wander off ‘Cause I’d rather be lost Than to face all I’ve run from this year (Pre-Chorus) And I’m grasping On to anything Disregarding the truth that I (Chorus) I deserve more I deserve someone who loves me too I deserve more I deserve someone who loves like I do (Verse 2) I wish you the best And it’s hard to admit But I know that I’ll figure it out While I’m banging my head Hanging on by a thread ‘Cause I’m scared that I may have missed out (Pre-Chorus) And I’m grasping On to anything Disregarding the truth that I (Chorus) I deserve more I deserve someone who loves me too I deserve more I deserve someone who loves like I do X2 (Outro) I deserve more I deserve someone who loves me too I deserve more I deserve someone who loves like I do

Dear Sara - Do Better [Review]

March 26, 2021 by Travis Erwin in Music, Electro Pop

        Rating: 4 out of 5

“The vocal tone here is unique and mesmerizing. A native of Sweden, Sara displays an emotional softness on this track that draws the listener in deep. There are defiente Pop styling to this track, but ‘Do Better’ exudes a sultry vulnerability that goes beyond the genre and feels almost folksy in a Commercial leaning way. ”

          Fagin - Laundry Day [Review]

March 19, 2021 by Travis Erwin in Music, Electro Pop, Commercial, Indie Pop

          Rating: 4 out of 5

“A nice melodic groove brings this track alive. Smooth and soulful like something between Bieber and Bruno, this Pop groove works well. The hook of the melody and the straightforward lyrical presentation lends themselves to joining in and singing along. Simply a fun, self-reflective track.”

emlyn - a thousand parties [Review]

March 12, 2021 by Travis Erwin in Music, Electro Pop, Indie Pop, Commercial

            Rating: 4 out of 5

“Inspired by the great literary love stories, Emlyn has given us a passionate love song of sorts, despite the fact she admits to never having been in love herself.

’A Thousand Parties’ is a big bold Pop track that would be right at time on a Demi Lovato album. The boisterous vocals drive it all home giving this track a huge presence.”

“I for one do not think we should feel guilty about pursuing our pleasures, but there is no denying the saying ‘Guilty PLeasure’ makes for a nice hook here on this track. The two set of vocals intertwine and mix well in this energetic Electro Pop single.

Co-dependency has never been more fun than this lively track.”

On the Outside- How Beautiful [Review]

March 08, 2021 by Kreadiv Kesh in Commercial, Electro Pop

                Rating: 4 out of 5

“ Take a look in the mirror and embrace who you are. On The Outside’s new single ‘How Beautiful’ is kicking out apologies and encouraging everyone to love who they are. The songs promotes body positivity and explains to everyone even if there is one thing you don’t like that is one thing that makes you perfect to someone else.”
                — Kreadiv Kesh (LA On Lock Blogger)
“They have been coined “The Official Boy Band of TikTok”. Comprised of five immensely talented members Andrew Bloom, Dawson Huckabee, Devin Hayes, Jon Klaasen and Sam Jenkins, the Los Angeles-based group proposes a reevaluation of beauty standards ahead of a fast-approaching International Women’s Day. Aligned with their gripping new single “How Beautiful”, On the Outside challenges society’s comparison culture’ in order to uplift those who feel weighed down by an unrealistic beauty bar. Partnered with the JED Foundation, the band leads a conversation in acknowledgement of a social landscape overrun with anxiety, depression, suicide and poor self esteem. Very much in sync with their army of dedicated fans affectionately known as “Outsiders”, the band encourages everyone to embrace what makes them unique by finding the beauty within. ”

On The Outside’s “How Beautiful” is a song inspired by today’s comparison culture. Social media and contemporary advertising campaigns continue to set an unrealistic beauty bar that focuses an emphasis on physical beauty rather than the inner beauty within all of us. The result is a society overrun with anxiety, depression, suicide and poor self esteem. The lyrical intent of “How Beautiful” is to refocus the lens of what beauty is and how beauty can be found everywhere...and in everyone. In the verses, the lyric asks the listener to stop apologizing for not living up to unattainable standards and “take some time to learn what’s inside”. The song builds with the pre-chorus plea of “I wish you could see what I see” suggesting perhaps that often times the glare of our own mirrors hides what makes us shine. Finally, the chorus is almost mantra-like in its simplicity posing the simple, yet often difficult question...”do you even know just how beautiful you are?”. The sincere hope behind “How Beautiful” is to help reshape how we see ourselves and encourages everyone to find what makes them uniquely beautiful. If you look a little deeper, it exists in all of us.

Sun Kiss - I Can't Help But Care [Review]

March 08, 2021 by Kreadiv Kesh in Soul, Electro Pop

                  Rating: 4 out of 5

“The house is burning, the toilet flooding, the cops are coming and we are all out of money but I can’t help but care. SunKiss gives a dramatic yet interesting song. A solo comes in around the 2 mark but this is sure a song you will find yourself singing along with. It’s one of those songs that really doesn’t make sense but sounds so damn good. ”

At only 16, she has the talent and emotive vocal style that is perfect for delivery fun, yet meaningful songs. Rejecting an unwanted call by hitting that ‘Red Button’ can be cathartic in its own right as it returns the power to those who have been done wrong. ”

“Dezabel comes in smooth but allows anyone listening to be engaged. ‘I Don’t Wanna Wait No More’ is Electro Pop meets RnB. He speaks on how he is becoming impatient with anticipation. I like how a female’s vocals was introduced after the two mark to give a strong feeling of emotion. ”

Swiss songwriter and producer Dezabel kicks off 2021 with his latest single 'I don't wanna wait no more'. Blending analog and electronic elements, Dezabel sets the scene for this emotive, yet hooky track. With a more than ever relevant message about friendship, the lyrics reflect a feeling that the world over can relate to. Irish singer Calvin Biasi takes the lead vocal role with his powerful and unique tone, with further layers coming from the incredibly talented American based singer Jazelle Paris making 'I don't wanna wait no more' a song that will be echoing in your head from the first listen.

Maude Latour - Walk Backwards [Review]

February 12, 2021 by Travis Erwin in Music, Indie Pop, Electro Pop, Commercial

                              Rating: 4.5 out of 5

“Purely intoxicating! Maude Latour offers up her latest single, ‘Walk Backwards’ which is rich and bubbly and and altogether inebriating in the very best ways. Poppy, but without a hint of bubblegum, the track deals with the blurred lines of love, friendship, and romanticism in bold and direct ways.

The song has a voyeuristic feel with a nice groove that makes it impossible not to stay thirsty on.”

Sarah Barrios - Happy [Music Video Review]

February 05, 2021 by Travis Erwin in Music, Commercial, Electro Pop

                                Rating: 4 out of 5

“The best Pop music is able to say something and covey real emotion without sacrificing the catchy hook and energetic vibe. ‘Happy’ was written specifically about the unburdening elation and confusion of waking up without the fear and anxiety of hiding. Sarah Barrios created the track about the coming out experience, and it is certainly powerful in understanding that dynamic for those of us on the other side who have never lived through such an experience. That said this track also has a broader appeal for any of us that are emerging from beneath fear or darkness of any kind.”

                                  Digitalz - Ritual [Review]

February 05, 2021 by Travis Erwin in Music, Electro Pop, Future Bass

                                  Rating: 4 out of 5

“With a theatrical build and a slow vocal build, ‘Ritual’ is the combined effort of Parisian duo Adrien & Thibault who are known together as Digitalz. The track unfolds like a well written Electro Pop story with the music and production conveying as much emotion as the lyrics and vocal performance. ”

Brianna Marie - Haunting You [Review]

January 29, 2021 by Kreadiv Kesh in Commercial, Electro Pop

                                    Rating: 4 out of 5

“New York-based singer-songwriter and rising artist Brianna Marie kicks off her 2021 with brand-new single “Haunting You”. An exquisitely addictive song, it showcases Brianna’s empowered attitude, bold lyricism and stunning vocals, ensuring she is one to watch in 2021.

I like the sound of suspense snippet in the beginning. Then as her vocals come in she gives us a dramatic yet pop delivery. Brianna Marie’s new single ‘Haunting You’ is about feelings that exist whether or not you are near the person. She tends to describe her feelings and is curious to know if the feelings are mutual.”
                                    — Kreadiv Kesh (LA On Lock Blogger)
“Haunting You” also reveals an extremely appealing theatrical component to Brianna’s sound; it’s very anthemic and orchestral, which isn’t typical to pop and helps her to stand apart from other artists in the genre. With “Haunting You” setting the tone for Brianna’s 2021 in a major way, we’re anticipating a great year ahead for her, and we can’t wait to see what else she has in store.”

“Amanda Ayala has had successful runs on NBC’s, ‘The Voice’ as well as Prime’s, ‘Who Will Rock You?’ Now the talented vocalist is belting out her emotion on a new single, ‘Hooked.’ This big Electro Pop track has a dark undercurrent that brings enough grit to keep the listener leaning in. ”

                                        SZNS - Behave [Review]

January 22, 2021 by Travis Erwin in Music, Electro Pop, Commercial
“SZNS deliver unflinching attitude and allure that wraps around you and refuses to let go. I could attempt to describe the intent behind this Electro Pop track, but instead I’ll turn it over to a direct quote from the band —

’Behave’ is for every girl who’s been told to act like a lady: to sit up straight, be polite, to let the grown ups talk. Our entire lives we’ve been told that we’re ‘doing too much’ or acting ‘too intense’ - Behave is about being unapologetic, and taking up the space you deserve, despite what anyone else might say. If being demure and soft-spoken is good behavior, then I guess we never learned how to behave. ~SZNS”
