William Black x Fairlane x AMIDY - Nightmare [Music Review]

June 13, 2025 by Travis Erwin in Music, Future Bass, EDM
“William Black teams up with Fairlane and AMIDY to give us all a ‘Nightmare.’ But don’t worry this one won’t leave you with cold sweats or a bad night’s sleep. This Future Bass track will instead get you on the floor moving your body and relating to the foreboding lyrical build as your prepare for that next drop and breakdown.”

yetep - Hate It When It's You (feat. Trella) [Music Review]

May 30, 2025 by Travis Erwin in Music, Future Bass, EDM
“yetep enlists the help of Trella to deliver this Future Bass track and the pairing is perfect as the two side compliment each other perfectly to create a smooth groove.

’Hate It When It’s You’ is a track that you can hold tight to your partner and move as one to, or that you can sit alone and reflect about life and love. Either way you will feel this one as much as hear it. ”

xoxodubstep - I Will [Music Review]

November 25, 2024 by Travis Erwin in Music, Future Bass, Commercial

      Rating: 3.5 out of 5

“xoxodubstep unleashes a Future Bass love song with ‘I Will.’ The track has a big soaring theatrical vibe and would be great as the backdrop of a movie montage scene, but it also works as an emotional standalone track. Perfect for dedicating to the one you love, or getting in your feels out on the dance floor this track is deeply commercial and should find audiences across several gernes. ”

        Luci - Loner [Music Review]

November 05, 2024 by Travis Erwin in Music, Future Bass, EDM, Electro Pop, Dance, Pop

        Rating: 3.0 out of 5

“Luci began her career as a an EDM producer and that influence is clear on this track, though the vocal side certainly has Pop sensibilities.

’Loner’ is an emotive and vulnerable track in its best moments, though for me the harder drops and production that turned toward a Future Bass/EDM style got in the way of the emotions at times.

For me this track shined the brightest with Luci’s emotive delivery and less production behind it clouding the song. ”

Dead Rose - Losing Oxygen (ft. Stella Smyth) [Music Review]

October 31, 2024 by Travis Erwin in Music, Dance, Future Bass, Pop, Trap

          Rating: 2.5 out of 5

“This track is a classic example of so many submission we receive here at LA on Lock. There is clear and obvious vocal talent, and even the arrangement has musical potential, the overall track lacks a clean production and build.

From a few pauses and skips that at least felt unintentional, to the mix, which left the vocals feeling too distant at times this track just didn’t quite realize its full potential for me. And yet, I can tell the artistry and talent it is simply a matter of getting it all put together in a tidier package.”

SABAI - Are You Happy Now (feat. Linney) [Music Review]

September 18, 2024 by Travis Erwin in Music, Future Bass, Pop, Commercial

            Rating: 4 out of 5

“SABAI teams up with Linney to bring this track to life. ‘Are You Happy Now’ is a Future Bass track with clear Pop influence.

The lingering ghosts of past relationships can haunt us all and it is normal to sometimes wonder where they are now and if they are happy. I suppose what we want for that other person all depends how things ended but this track does a great job of allowing us to feel both sides of a complex array of emotions. ”

Alex Kade x Mikara x HASHON - Metamorphosis [Music Review]

May 25, 2024 by Travis Erwin in Music, Future Bass

              Rating: 4 out of 5

“After forming an online freindship, this trio of talented artists finally got together to collaborate and create this engaging track.

’Metamorphosis’ was inspired by their collective experiences in abusive relationships and the track captures the emotions well for the genre without sacrificing the energy and builds you’d expect from a Future Bass offering such as this.”

Wurme - Fading (feat. 9B49) [Music Review]

April 26, 2024 by Travis Erwin in Music, Future Bass

                Rating: 3.5 out of 5

“A big and bold theatrical track brimming with talent, emotion, and a build that makes it hard to turn away.

The buzz effect did grow stale for me at times, but the vocal tone and engaging lyrical build overcame that for me.

This is a song to feel, so close your eyes, lean back and let it wash over you as it climaxes toward a satisfying end.”

                  Rating: 3.5 out of 5

“Slander teams up with Trivecta and Chris Howard to create this uplifting Future Bass track.

’A Better World’ is a clean and direct kind of track that feeds the soul with positivity. I can see the track as the backing for a movie montage, or it is a nice addition to a motivational playlist to get you inspired and ready to take on the world. ”

The duo of Bllaine and Jaime Deraz bring this one to life in a tangible way.”

All in your head. ”

A track sure to get listeners moving and singing along by the first chorus, no matter how you want to categorize this genre being single.”

The track unfolds like a well written Electro Pop story with the music and production conveying as much emotion as the lyrics and vocal performance. ”

The energy and build of the track is perfectly matched to the emotional thread of the lyrics. The vocal performance also delivers an emotive gut punch that hits you hard and overwhelmingly. This is a good song brought further to life by an engaging production.”

FRU x Aymee Weir - Love Always Ends In Goodbye [Review]

April 03, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music, Future Bass, EDM

                                Rating: 4 out of 5

“An emotional break up song with well-produced melody and beat. The vocals here are soft and tender, and truly bring out the power of the words. With one foot in the world of EDM, and another in the more commercial vibe of Pop music, ‘Love Always Ends in Goodbye’ is a track that will resonate across multiple genres to engage listeners with a sharp distinct sound.”

Mia Vaile - Chasing California [Review]

March 06, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music, Indie Electronic, Future Bass, EDM

                                  Rating: 4.5 out of 5

“California has long been associated with the idea of chasing Golden Dreams, but for anyone eager to take that leap, there comes an underlying fear of failure.

Mia Vaile captures that trepidation with her dark and gritty track, ‘Chasing California.’ The vocal performance is haunting and beautiful, and a touch sorrowful, while the beat and production qualities of the track bring out the emotion with build perfectly instep with Indie Electronic genre. ”

Rouno - On My Way (feat. Chris Yoon) [Review]

January 30, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music, Future Bass

                                    Rating: 4 out of 5

“This track is a Future Bass love letter written to a distant lover. An ode to the longing inspired by a long-distance relationship, the track brings an emotional resonance. The beat and melody are soft for the most part, with enough build to make the track interesting and engaging. The production, lyrics, and vocal performance compliment each other to create a seamless, emotional thread.”

Hovzter - Left Me Broken (Remix by Dachaio & JAGGE) [Review]

January 10, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music, Future Bass

                                      Rating: 4 out of 5

“A tender vulnerable voice launches in from the beginning and it is in the softness of that voice that the emotional attachment first forms. The production here is subtle but a perfect match to the performance and lyrics. The beat is as gripping as the vocal tone making this a complete track that you will want to listen to over and over gain because the vulnerability of the song is one that we can all relate to unfortunately and this mix does a masterful job of making us feel every nuance. ”

“The production on this track is as spot on as the beat. A pleasing electronic melody adds to the emotion of the lyrics providing a nice balance between a talented set of vocals, and an uplifting lyrical refrain to the chorus. ”
