Yorxe - Hide Your Bodies [Review]

April 10, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music, Indie Pop, Alternative, Commercial

Rating: 3.5 out of 5

“Yorxe stacks the lines of these lyrics up like the proverbial bodies she sings about. Coming at you with a sinister vibe, her performance is intriguingly dark, while the beat and melody feels both Industrial and pop like at times. The track begs for a video as it stirs imagery all on its own and would be even more potent with the perfect visuals to punctuate the aura heavy track.

The timing of this track could harm it’s potential as the thought of stacking bodies has taken on new meaning in recent weeks, but for those able to step outside of the news cycle and appreciate music on its own merits this is a track that speaks for itself. ”

FAMES - what do i call u? [Review]

April 09, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music, Singer/Songwriter, Commercial

    Rating: 4.5 out of 5

“Lyrically, ‘What Do I Call U’ is an emotional question poised to a former love, and the line about the word ex feeling wrong — ‘because it crosses out how important you were’ — is quite powerful and sums up the vibe of the song very well.

The song comes with a Pop vibe, but is as well-written as any track you are likely to find in any genre. Real and honest, the words and performance pulls you in and holds you there.”

      Kat Hammock - Space [Review]

April 09, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music, Singer/Songwriter

      Rating: 4.5 out of 5

“The need for space from a person or place is something most of us have felt at one time or another. Here in the midst of this quarantine, that need is no doubt stronger than ever before as we all feel stuck in one way or another.

Here in this track, the sweet vocal vibe of Kat Hammock borders on a traditional singer/Songwriter vibe with a hint of Country and the combination pulls you in close to her heart. ”

Anthony Profits - Can't Stop Won't Stop [Review]

April 08, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music, Rap

        Rating: 3.5 out of 5

“Short, but energetic and to the point, Anthony Profits gives us his thoughts on his latest track ... ‘Can’t Stop Won’t Stop, is actually a song where I am paying respects to 8ball and MJG. They had a song called ‘Lay it Down,’ and I was inspired by 8ball’s verse and put my own style to it.’

The single delivers an classic vocal style with just a hint of funk, especially in the intro.”

Cam Pendley - Nothing Changes [Review]

April 08, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music, Singer/Songwriter, Commercial

          Rating: 3.5 out of 5

“Cam Pendley takes a reflective look at his relationship history in this smooth soulful track. The emotion of his regrets and fears come through in both the performance and the songwriting and it is in this that the single finds it heart. The track has hints of an Electro Pop beat and melody with the vocal vibe of a singer/songwriter style.”

Two Neighbors - Never Talk To Me Again [Review]

April 08, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music, Electro Pop

            Rating: 4.5 out of 5

“This is a strong powerful track about the weakness of an emotional mind. Breaking free of an ex is tough, even when you know it is for the best and this hard edged Pop song is about hoping for an easy way out. About craving for that other person to be so vile and uncaring that they make it easy to break free.

Two Neighbors delivers a rebellious sharp edge sound to the track and the beat as well as vocals that are evocative and compelling from start to finish.”

Tatiana Woods x Ben Great x Aris Ray - How I Like It [Review]

April 07, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music, Rap
“Tatiana Woods drops an engaging set of vocals that ushers this one in. Teaming up with Ben Great and Aris Ray, this is a fun song with several different grooves and threads that merge seamlessly to form one cohesive single that will hold you with its smooth groove and steady beat.

’How I Like It’ is a sharply written track that make you smile and think ... Oh Hell Yeah. Say it.”

April 07, 2020 by Kreadiv Kesh in Music, Music Videos

                Rating: 3.5 out of 5

“Do you believe in magic? Or do you believe that someone can have emotional control over you?

Artist Armaan Malik new single ‘Control’ is an example of a man who is controlled by the essence and beauty of a woman. He explains how he has tried to move. on and be with other people but he continues to be drawn to her. With a bad boy rock star look the video is a bit exotic in its setting as he follows his love interest.”

                  Mikey - Too Young [Review]

April 06, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music, Electro Pop, Commercial

                  Rating: 4 out of 5

“The lyrics of ‘Too Young’ take a reminiscent and reflective look at a love that wasn’t meant to be. The engaging Pop vocals delivers a nice balance of energy and emotion and the song is very relatable for anyone who saw a worthwhile love crumble because of the stage of life they were in when it came along. The track feels honest and brings a nice mix of regret and hopeful forgiveness. ”

Mike SB - Ny for the Weekend (Prod. By Shiggy) [Review]

April 04, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music, Rap, Hip-Hop, Conscious

                    Rating: 4 out of 5

“Mike SB wrote this one on a trip to NYC. Among his plans were to reconnect with an ex, but she had a different agenda and in that moment he realized sometimes, you simply have to move on no matter how hard it is.

The trip also allowed Mike SB to be in studio with Shiggy and this track is part of that effort. The vocals are smooth and the lyrics come from a place of genuine reflection and emotion. Both facts shine through in the flow.”

“There is a fun funky groove to the melody here, and coupled with the engaging vocal flow, ‘All I Want’ is a quietly energetic track that delivers hints of Elton John and John Mayer. An engaging set of lyrics holds you with the genuine emotion of their words and the build and progression offers enough variation to keep you guessing. Though not so much ... that you can’t fall in line and sing along. ”

“There is something dark and sinister growing here in this sound, but trust me when I say ‘Bad Apple’ is far from rotten. Coming with a melody that at times feels like it is straight from an old Spaghetti western, and at others feels like like a modern, emotional Pop ballad, Bad Flamingo pairs this unique musical vibe with vocals that feel both haunting, and alluring.”

                          Rating: 4.5 out of 5

“The soft inviting voice of Alara bechon you in on this track. Like a warm hug for you ears and soul the warmth of this track is soothing in ways music rarely is.

The well-written lyrics of ‘Demons,’ incluses lines such as ... ‘the world may not be kind, but open up your mind- Come to me like I come to you,’ reminding us to be good to each other during heavy times.

The vocal performance is astounding and the timeliness of this message makes it all the more powerful.”

“This track brings a nice R&B groove, along with an engaging Hip-Hop flow that sort of settles down in the marrow of your bones.

Some people seem to have everything this world has to offer, but as the lyrics here point out, that all any of us need is love.

’Nothing But Love,’ is a track you can sing along to and sway to the beat while knowing the truth of the words being delivered.”

“A dark brooding Rock song bringing a traditional classic sound, ‘Lights Out’ is a lyrical masterpiece. Capturing the plight of depression, this well-written track gives a glimpse of what it feel likes to be drowning in your own thoughts and emotions.

The hard rocking beat often gives way to soaring guitars on this track, but the transitions are balanced and everything about this one conveys the emotions behind the single. ”

SHADES - Carousel (ft. Mister Blonde) [Review]

April 03, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music, Electro Pop, EDM

                                Rating: 4 out of 5

“An engaging Electro Pop sound about the highs and lows of relationships, especially the extremes of a toxic pairing that clearly isn’t going to last. The lyrics are well-written and the production aids in bringing the emotion and mood forward so that you can not only hear it in the words, but feel it in the beat. ”

Jared Minnix - Slow Down [Review]

April 03, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music, Singer/Songwriter, Indie Pop

                                  Rating: 4 out of 5

“Quarantine submissions have been flooding my inbox and most fail to capture the true thoughts and feelings, but Jared Minnix has written one that truly captures the vibe of these troubling times.

Soft Pop vocals and a calm, yet energetic melody back these lyrics which feel true and genuine. No one can predict what’s coming next, but perhaps Minnix has created the soundtrack for these odd days where time has very little meaning.”

FRU x Aymee Weir - Love Always Ends In Goodbye [Review]

April 03, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music, Future Bass, EDM

                                    Rating: 4 out of 5

“An emotional break up song with well-produced melody and beat. The vocals here are soft and tender, and truly bring out the power of the words. With one foot in the world of EDM, and another in the more commercial vibe of Pop music, ‘Love Always Ends in Goodbye’ is a track that will resonate across multiple genres to engage listeners with a sharp distinct sound.”

The Shatterheads - The Money [Review]

April 03, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music, Indie Rock

                                      Rating: 4 out of 5

“The Shatterheads deliver a high energy Rock sound on ‘The Money,’ to cash in on an attitude that comes through every note and word.

Lyrically, this track has verve, but for this band and this song it is their spin on a recognizable style that hooked me first. Some bands just have that it factor that makes you sit up and pay attention, and The Shatterheads have arrived to give us another such essential band. ”

Peaceful James - Sometimes I just Miss Her [Review]

                                        Rating: 4.5 out of 5

“Blending a singer/songwriter vibe with an engaging Hip-Hop vibe, Peaceful James gives us a melancholy ode to lost love. A smooth chill flow tinged with sadness and emotion unfurls the lyrics of this track. The pain and suffering is there and this track is a bit like having a conversation with a heart-broken friend. ”
