“Félix Collin leans in on Indie/Alt Pop vibes to deliver ‘I still replay.’ The track is tender and vulnerable while also maintaining a distant loneliness to sell the emotion of the lyrics. The song deals with emotional attachment and an inability to move forward at least in a timely and healthy fashion.”
“Silver Otto is a rising Alt Pop star that blurs the lines of genre and style. ‘Favorite’ asks the question what if we are living a lie and then twists it by asserting who cares if we are because sometimes the fantasy is far more fun than reality.
The artists as well as the song seems to dance on the edges lending an extra air of intrigue.”
“Amy Swift bursts with sultry and defiant attitude on ‘ Under.’ The soulful Alt Pop track is all about that dangerous kind of love. The kind where lust leaves you hungry and desperate even though you know toxicity lurks in the depths of the relationship and it’s only a matter of time before the passion takes a dark turn.”
“Few of us truly speak our mind or share our deepest held ‘Secrets’ about ourselves. Kira Rizavi takes an energetic, almost exotic tine to tease us witht he possibilities of our own minds and how that relates to our relationships with others. There is a bit of World Beat vibe adding some mystery and intoxicating melody to the mix.”
“Gabrielle Ornate gives us a celestial and forbidden love story about the ‘Sun and Moon.’ The track offers an ethereal take on classic rock style vocals to create an engaging and spot on vibe that gets the wheels turning about the universe at large as wella s how things sometimes don’t work out for reason beyond our control.”
“Alt Pop can take any number of directions and here rising UK Pop star Starling unleashes a stream of conscious style narrative about shedding self doubt and flagellation in favor of enjoying life exactly as who you are. Written on her birthday it feels like a self-awakening we all need from time to time.”
“Love can be fleeting and ‘Don’t let Go’ from The Smallest Number is a Deep house track about trying to hold onto a love that you feel slipping away. The emotional track builds and swells in both arrangement and emotion pulling the listener along while also settling over you like the feeling of a warm hug from a friend.”
“Life takes us all places we never planned to go. ‘Lorem Ipsum’ is a track about waking up and realizing life has led you to a place you don’t necessarily want to be. A song for anyone that has ever been stuck in a rit and longed to break free and taste life for all that it can be.
Mount Saint Elias has captured the emotions of day to daylife and managed to make them entertaining and thought provoking.”
“Bermudian artist Mishka has made his mark on the Reggae world with five #1 albums on the Billboard Reggae charts over his twenty-five year career. His brand-new single, ‘Viva la Revolución’ is a timely message that stirs feelings of resistance while also leaning in to hope and a love for humanity.”
“A heartfelt and meaningful track, ‘Rodeo Clown,’ could be Obed Padilla’s best offering to date. The track is about grief and heartbreak and feeling like you are taking too long to move on to the next phase of life. It si a reminder that we are all on our own emotional journey and there are no road maps.”
“Indie Pop covers a lot of ground but if you are looking for a quintessential track that fits the genre look no further. ‘Close Your Eyes’ from Wintur offers a timeless Indie Pop sound and style that is emotive and vulnerable and full of emotional nuance. With each listen you will peel back another layer and fall deeper in love with the track.”
“Carbon City Lights shines bright with their latest Indie Rock release, ‘Certain Things Matter.’ The laid-back groove is brought forward by warm, reverb-soaked guitars, and poetic, emotionally grounded lyrics. The lyrics are about letting go and not succumbing the overwhelming world around us.”
“Some songs speak entirely for themselves. ‘Stand Up’ from The People is such a track.
Yes, it is a political song, or at least will be categorized as such in this fractured country, but in reality this is a song about human rights and human decency and therefore should not be controversial. But hey, literally everything is controversial these days.
Give the track a listen. There is a hint of Queen and classic Rock (which has always been political) in both lyrical content and many a memorable performance.”
“Gabriela Bee has plenty to say on her new single, ‘17.’ Before I weigh in I want to share some thoughts from the artist ...
’At the heart of the song, ‘17’ reflects on a formative year marked by overthinking, isolation, and learning to process life as it unfolds.’
Adulthood is tough and taking those first few steps even more so. This song displays a maturity in songwriting and the soft tender delivery sells those emotions well. A track we can all enjoy and appreciate no matter our age.”
“Norwegian songstress, Mathilde Widding brings power, emotion, and blurred lines with her latest single, ‘Burning Pockets of Love.’ The Bluesy, Retro Soul infused track drips with emotion and determination.
A track about taking on the weight of false promises for far too long and finally breaking free is a vibe perfect for those nights of self reflection or a long drive away from a troublesome past.”
“Fresh off her performance at the NFL Draft last night, KELS unfurls this sultry bit of Dirty Blues. ‘Daddy’s Not The One’ is a powerful ode to freedom and independence. The track oozes with confidence and take charge attitude while maintaining a sexy subterfuge about it all. ”
“Saint Soldier is unflinching in his social commentary of the times with ‘Theatre.’ The flow leans toward a spoken word delivery but it works well here with an ample emotive push moving the track forward with intensity and passion. A set of lyrics that unveils something new with each listen Definitely a song to dig in on and digest over multiple listens.”
“Some tracks are tough to categorize and Ben Barbic’s ‘More To Life’ fits that bill. The Reggae vibes are undeniable but the track also lean on Hip-Hop culture and style in. A rhythmic and engaging delivery carries the listener along on the search for more.”
“Kelsey Olivia utilizes an interesting staccato cadence to delivery this Electro Pop track about a relationship that just won’t quite end. Love is hard and letting go can be difficult even when both parties know doing so would be for the best. The unique structure helps us to feel the chaos of such a relationship.”
“Band of Revelations hails from the UK though this track has a definite Americana vibe. ‘All The Way Home’ is a song about grief but rather than focusing on things as an ending the track offers some hope to go with the sadness and the band called it a song of new beginnings. Lyrically the track could be taken several different way and that is often the case with any well rendered art.”
