Alvie & the Breakfast Pigs -Tokyo [Review]

August 14, 2020 by Kreadiv Kesh in Alternative

Rating: 4 out of 5

“Cry Baby’ with Johnny Depp is my favorite movie. Alvie & the Breakfast Pigs new single ‘Tokyo’ reminds me of the songs from that movie. The drums are energetic even though the vocals have a low tone you can still feel the emotion in the artists vocals. He is revealing how it may not seen as if they know where they are going but they are going to get to that point. ”
— Kreadiv Kesh (LA On Lock Blogger)

Tokyo is symbolic for a journey that most of us find ourselves on, trying to find a place where you belong. Tokyo represents a journey through life learning about yourself and traveling to find where you best fit. Adventuring into the unknown.

Scott Luka - LA-NY-DC [Music Video Review]

August 13, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music Videos, Commercial

    Rating: 3.5 out of 5

“Sometimes a track simple struts its way into our ears. Scott Luka drops such a track on us with ‘LA-NY-DC.’

Full of bluster and confidence, this isn’t a set of lyrics that will leave you deep in thought or hours, but the beat is infectious and the track delivers a bit of cocky fun. And sometimes, that is all we need from a song.”

Loren Todd - Take It Slow [Review]

August 13, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music, Hip-Hop, Conscious

      Rating: 4 out of 5

“Loren Todd dreamed of playing int he NFL, but off the field issues ended that dream and after being sent home home from college, Todd began creating music as his outlet.

’Take It Slow’ reflects a shift in attitude as Todd showcases his talents in a different realm. Sharp lyrics and deliberate bars are balanced by a nice vocal groove that feels true and genuine. ”

Evening's Empire - Movies (Who I Really Am) [Review]

August 13, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music, Indie Rock, Pop, Rock

        Rating: 4.5 out of 5

“Evening’s Empire has captured the Indie Rock vibe and sound and distilled it into an engaging first single from their upcoming album, Alive For Us.

There are definitely hints of Springsteen here, though the track has its own vibe musically that makes it stand alone with a sound that grips you as it builds into an emotional crescendo. ‘Movies (Who I Really Am)’ is as the band says ... about the resolve to hold on to the parts of life that make it worth living.”

Cory Taylor Cox - Queen of Valley City [Review]

August 13, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music, Singer/Songwriter, Folk

          Rating: 4 out of 5

“Written about, and for, his mother-in-law, Cory Taylor Cox takes what many would dismiss as the mundane and turns it into an extraordinaire ode to a life well spent. The love and dedication, and determination shine through, and the vocal talent brings all of those assessments as well as a spirit to the track, making the songwriting shine as much as the performance.”

“Coming with a summertime vibe of bright sunshine and warmth, ‘Kiss Me’ is an ode to first loves and the idea that they truly can last forever.

Simon Lunche delivers a vocal performance that keeps the listener invested and believing in a romanticized version of their first love.”

Not Famous - Silly Putty [Review]

August 12, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music, Commercial

              Rating: 4 out of 5

“The vocals come in with a soft emotive style before that track makes an abrupt Electro vibe. Lyrically, this one is about molding yourself to be something that someone else wants you to be. That kind of selfish love is always one-sided and eventually leaves one party a glob of ‘Silly Putty.’ ”

                Difion - Blessings [Review]

August 12, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music, Reggae

                Rating: 4 out of 5

“Difion gives us ‘Blessings’ with this uplifting and positive Reggae track. Riding a tranquil vibe the track offers smooth vocals and a calming beat and melody to deliver a message of hope.

Staying positive is something we all struggle with at times, and this is the kind of track that can help put your mind in a state that helps with that task. ”

Sophia Messa - Ice Cream & Cigarettes [Music Video Review]

August 11, 2020 by Kreadiv Kesh in Music Videos

                  Rating: 4 out of 5

“Sophia Messa has a craving and its in human form. Her new single ‘Ice Cream & Cigarettes’ describes how she feels when she is around that person. However, for the things you crave are also the things you don’t need. She goes on to explain that she doesnt want those feelings anymore. Her vocals are raw, emotional, yet solid.”

Marzs So Free- [Music Video Review]

                    Rating: 4 out of 5

“Marzs new single ‘So Free’ does give you a free feeling when listening to it. The visual is simple yet you feel his mood as he tells the story of life vs money. The female vocals on the chorus comes in at the right moment. Marzs also speaks on how the world tries to put you in a box but your family and everyone around you wants you to be free and successful.”

The vocal groove is one that is easy to fall into, and the beat carries you along without effort.”

                        Rating: 4 out of 5

“The music scene that sprang from Laurel Canyon in the Hollywood Hills is legendary in its own right, and Annie of the Canyon taps into that with a vibe that matches that era but still brings its own unique modern spin.

There is a dusty sultry seductiveness to the vocals and a haunting darkness to the lyrics that lured me in on this track.”

August 07, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music, Commercial, Folk

                          Rating: 4 out of 5

“Is Commercial Folk a thing? If it is Emily Drinker is taking a big sip from that fountain, because while there are definite Pop sensibilities within the arrangement, Drinker’s overall vocal tone feels folksy and energetic with hints of blues and jazz coming through at times. The build and progression are engaging, and I was on the hook all the way through. ”

August 06, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music, Indie Pop, Commercial

                            Rating: 4 out of 5

“Karamilk delivers a dark Pop song about the pressures of social circles and how easy it is to lose yourself in the demands of a group.

The vocals offer a haunting distance that echoes the emotions of the lyrics and the production behind the track adds a depth of feeling that creates a suitable mood for the entire track.

’Hurt’ feels like a bit of genuine honesty amid a see of artificial — in a time dominated by social media and snapshots of what life is supposed to look and feel like.”

“A clever bit of songwriting, and a simple yet imaginative video highlight this track. There is something here that reminded me of Elton John, but just a hint because Thirsty Curses certainly have their own brand of uniqueness to stand on.

’Bruises On Your Shoulders’ is simply put ... the song of life. An entertaining and concise look at the ho-hum, the dreams, the everyday. Hard to categorize, but I was thoroughly entertained.”

blueheartkonnie x Trip Carter - Girlfriend!!!

August 03, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music, Rap

“Coming with a nice combo of Dirty South grit, and smooth West Coast vibe, blueheartkonnie and Trip Carter drop their flows in ‘Girlfriend!!!,’ a track they describe as a ladies night anthem.

Lyrically the track drops hook after hook, and that beat combined with the bars, does a good job of blending an old school sound with a modern production sound.”

BabyJake - Don’t Give Me Problems, Give Me Wine [Music Video Review]

“How can you not get down with the philosophy of ‘Don’t Give Me Problems, Give me Wine?’

The tone here is engaging and straightforward. BabyJake emotes the passion behind the lyrics in this track that feels almost Cosmic Cowboy in nature. A hint of Folk, a jolt of Rock, a splash of that 70s Alt Country vibe and this track simply oozes with coolness.”

                                    “Pure Pop glory and attitude!

The vocal talent brings alive a set of wryly humorous lyrics that are indeed entertaining but also very pointed for the times we live in.

This one is for everyone who has ever had to say ‘Seriously, Just Stop,’ to that person that won’t quite texting and calling. Take a hint already.”

Skylar Dayne - 30 Days [Review]

July 31, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music, Singer/Songwriter, Commercial, Electro Pop

“The world has been weird and challenging for most of us in some way, and ‘30 Days’ by Skylar Dayne takes one dynamic of the quarantine life and brings it to light.

In the budding beginning of a new relationship just as lock-down came on, Dayne penned this track about the uncertainties of her newfound relationship in the face of a forced separation. The vocals bring alive the emotion and the production feels spot on here. ”

’Monster Squad’ is a groove you can fall easily into and ride out with enthusiasm.”
