Kayla Diamond - I Should Have Listened to my Friends [Review]

November 14, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music, Electro Pop

Rating: 4 out of 5

“Kayla Diamond drops this Electro Pop ode to a love gone bad that surprised no one — except perhaps the one broken heart.

’I Should Have Listened to My Friends’ is the kind of retrospective knowledge we have all experienced a few times in life. The smooth easy talent of Diamond’s vocals make the words feel true as the production swells and ebbs as needed to bring the emotion home.”

ELEON - Fast Little Getaway (feat. Mayila) [Review]

November 14, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music, Contemporary R&B, Commercial, Singer/Songwriter

    Rating: 4 out of 5

“Losing the one you love is never easy, and sometimes they are gone before you even know it. That is what ‘Fast Little Getaway’ is about.

ELEON delivers the early vocals with a smooth R&B groove infused with a bit of Electro Pop stylings, before Mayila comes in with an emotional apology of sorts that lends a different point of view on the pain of heartbreak.”

      Kit DH - Ten [Review]

November 14, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music, Rap

      Rating: 4 out of 5

“Kit DH drops a bit of funk flavor with this Rap track that fuses a fast flow, with a nice groove and beat that keeps you leaning in. Adding some bounce on the back end ‘Ten’ holds your focus as those hard hitting lines sink in and take root. Count ‘em up! ”

Olivia Deane - Christmas Without You [Review]

November 13, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music, Holiday, Commercial

        Rating: 4 out of 5

“Olivia Deane delivers a nice soulful, yet appropriately melancholic vibe with this Holiday track about missing that special someone at Christmas time.

’Christmas Without You’ captures the emotion and sadness of missing the one you love and often those feeling are all the more acute as the Holidays set in.”

CHEL - Nasty Woman [Music Video Review]

November 12, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music Videos, Soul, Electro Pop, Deep House, Commercial

          Rating: 4 out of 5

“Labeled as so-called nasty women in certain political circles, the strong and fiercely independent ladies of this world have something to say and damn it, they refuse to be silenced. CHEL is among the proud, the brave, the bold — and on this Soulful Pop track, she makes her ‘Nasty Woman’ proclamations in loud, talented tones that draw a line in the sand for anyone looking for a fight.”

Day Lee ft. PnB Rock "4RealTho" + WAY OF Vol. 2 EP [Music Video Review]

November 12, 2020 by Kreadiv Kesh in R&B, Rap, Music Videos

            Rating: 5 out of 5

“What do you get when New York and Pennsylvania hit the studio together?

Infectious lyrics and a beat that prepares you for a hit ‘4RealTho’. Day Lee’s new single is full of energy from a vintage perspective. With PnB Rock vocals accompanying the sound the two are seen hitting the streets and jamming to the beat.”

November 11, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music Videos, Hip-Hop, Conscious

              Rating: 4 out of 5

“The world has been on fire for a while now, and it is easy to become desensitized to it all, but Rasheed Chappell and Buckwild have given is a stripped down spare track that infuses the news of the day with a beat and a flow that brings the perfect attitude to makes us feel the injustice, the fear, the anxiety, and the rebellious anger to stand up and do something about it all.”

                J. Loree & Dav @activepoet - Caterpillar [Music Video Review]

November 11, 2020 by Kreadiv Kesh in Music Videos

                Rating: 5 out of 5

“J.Loree & Dav deliver a smooth and lyrical track called ‘Caterpillar’. Standing on a dock outside of a warehouse the two speak about growing into their purpose. They have seen the good and the bad but it allows them to gain their wings and fly away if not today or tomorrow but eventually. ”

Ray Wright - Chess ft. Dom Kennedy [Review]

November 11, 2020 by Kreadiv Kesh in Music, Hip-Hop

                  Rating: 4 out of 5

“Ray Wright delivers a pure unapologetic West Coast track with his new single ‘Chess’ featuring Dom Kennedy. The beat comes in smooth with a Hip-Hop melody. As Ray drops his verses he hits us with the lyrics of how he moves and how people around him move . With a 50/50 reputation these two are pure success no matter how people look at it because like isn’t checkers its chess”

I am Korny - Vampires [Music Video Review]

November 10, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music Videos, Rock, Indie Rock, Alternative

                    Rating: 4 out of 5

“Feeling like a track straight out of a Peaky Blinders episode, ‘Vampires’ is a dark, bluesy track with a brooding build and a sinister underbelly.

The Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds influence is there, but so is a bit of Johnny Cash and Jack White. Call it Southern Gothic meets Euro Waltz, but if you are in the right mindset, this heavy track will feel right at home in your ears. ”

“Christmas conjures emotions like no other holiday, and Liz Longley does a masterful job of conveying what ‘Feels Like Christmas’ to her in this soaring ballad esque of a yuletide song.

This is singer/songwriter Holiday Music for sure and it is hard not to get swept in and imagine your own Christmas ideals as you listen to her beautiful voice.”

                        Rating: 4 out of 5

“Having to let the one you love go, not because the love has faded or endured some great betrayal, but rather simply because life and outside circumstances have gotten in the way, is a bitter pill to swallow. That longing brand of emotional pain emits from every verse of Beth De Bacci’s single ‘Loved Like This.’ A tender Pop ballad about doing the right thing — even when it hurts so bad.”

Angelina Jordan - Million Miles [Music Video Review]

November 07, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Lyric Video, Singer/Songwriter, Commercial

                          Rating: 4.5 out of 5

“Sometimes my initial reaction as a reviewer is simply ... WOW! That was the case here and that was before I dove into the bio to discover the artists I was listening to, Angelina Jordan is a mere 14 years old.

The power and depth of talent is stunning at any age, and yes, I was reminded of Adele as I listened, but I dislike such comparisons because while they form a starting point, they can easily define or pigeonhole a new artist and to that is a disservice. So with that in mind let me say ... Angelina Jordan is a star in her own right and ‘Million Miles’ is a big bold track that sweeps you up.

Of course Jordan is no stranger to stardom, as the winner of Norway’s Got Talent at only 8-years-old. Now calling Los Angeles home this young artist certainly does have a ‘Million Miles’ in front of her.”

“A sweet tender love song, not about the euphoria of falling in love, but rather the slow steady burn of a growing love. This track was written as a 10th Anniversary gift from Timothy Ray to his wife.

’Dancing In The Kitchen’ captures the devotion and understanding that only comes with time and that bond of sharing everyday life. And this is a track that couples can certainly join hands and dance together in the kitchen.”

“Here is your chance to catch a rising star and tell your friends you were listening way back when.

Rosie Darling has that rare ability to bring vocal power and keep the tender and emotional edge so that you feel every word even more than you appreciate the big incredible talent. This track merely hints at even more vocal capabilities, but you certainly come away understanding they are in there. More importantly, you come away feeling every last word of this track about the discovery your own emotional capabilities. ”

Dylan Dunlap - Another Holiday [Review]

November 05, 2020 by Travis Erwin in Music, Singer/Songwriter, Rock, Pop, Indie Pop

“The holidays are coming soon and given the stress of this past year the season will no doubt bring out increased emotional pain for some folks. This is not a new phenomenon, but could be more acute this year.

Dylan Dunlap gives us a melancholic track about this very thing and despite being a sad song, sometimes listening to such is exactly what we need so that we can understand we are not alone. ‘Another Holiday’ is a track that won’t necessarily uplift but can make you feel understood. Addressing the feelings of sadness is important as well so embrace your sadness if you need to and speak out f need be as the season descends upon us. Dylan Dunlap delivers a genuine emotional track that is relatable for so many of us. ”

Otto - Tell Me Something (I Don't Know) [Music Video Review]

“Otto may look young but his talent is everlasting. His debut single ‘Tell Me Something’ gives an antique feel while his love is seen overshadowing him. He admires her and how she makes him smile. Otto adds to the production with a hand clap within a classic beat. ”

’From The Underground’ is a new single that will virtually take you where you want to go. Synflex is taking EDM and mix to a whole different level. As you listen you can close your eyes and imagine yourself surrounded by people dancing and jumping, most importantly having fun.”

“A little retro never hurt anybody. The Dumes new single ‘Liquor & High’ a laidback alternative rock song with vintage L.A. vibes. The band tells a story of working hard and getting what you need with a little feisty humor. The lead singer stays consistent while her vocals are supported the guitar strings.”

“This is one of the first songs I really got excited about while writing on my iPhone smart keyboard before developing it more with Danny Owen on an old piano in my mate’s flat. The song is written for all to relate to about not giving up on love but one of the last lines of the song gives the true identity of the meaning.”

“What is love? Love is holding someone’s hand, standing by their side and walking with them through the hardships and the smiles. Leon Standford’s new single ‘By Your Side’ shows love over time and in many forms. He sings about holding on to eternity as you walk together. The piano keys are just as emotionally strong as his vocals and you can feel the love as he sings. ”
