Amelie Patterson - The War [Music Review]

April 20, 2023 by Travis Erwin in Music, Singer/Songwriter, Americana, Adult Contemporary, Folk

Rating: 4.5 out of 5

“I suppose it is rather ironic, but there is a lot of great Americana music being created by Canadians these days, and Amelie Patterson certainly joins that select group. ‘The War’ has Folk and Indie Rock elements and is tough to categorize like a lot of Americana.

No doubt there will Brandi Carlile comparisons, and that is an apt similarity, but no mistake, no matter what artists served as her inspiration, Patterson is a talented and capable artist creating her own sound. Deeply emotional and brooding in the build, this is a track that I will listen to over and over again to extract every last drop of nuance and meaning.”

Lance Tingey - Rough Patch [Review]

April 19, 2023 by Kreadiv Kesh

    Rating: 5 out of 5

“ Like can become hard, and Lance Tingey tells what he is going through with his rough patch. He talks about the nights where he fights sleep and his demands.

No one wants failure to be their friend so they find ways to seek help all while trying not to give up. ”

Easy Star All-Stars Rock 'n' Roll Suicide [Music Video Review]

April 19, 2023 by Kreadiv Kesh

      Rating: 4 out of 5

“The fusion of classic reggae production and the raw, wretched vocals of the artist make a perfect musical marriage. The story line lyrically is brilliant and keeps the listener listening the full way through. The playful inserts by the brass section gives and adds color to the track where never giving the song a change to be repetitive.”

Killa Kid x Paparazi - Nik Real Shit [Music Video Review]

April 19, 2023 by Kreadiv Kesh

        Rating: 4 out of 5

“Lyricism and story telling all over a bumping trap beat. You can hear the conviction in the artist voice which makes the lyrics that much more believable. Simple and to the point. Both lyricist both ride the beat on their own unique cadences and flows. I would recommend for any turn up playlist”

          Omotayo- Moving (feat. Omotayo) [Review]

April 19, 2023 by Kreadiv Kesh

          Rating: 4 out of 5

“You can’t help but nod your head as production and vocalist playfully introduce themselves at the beginning of the record. The female and male vocalist compliment each other while never overpowering the other. The skillful use of the auto tune to keep the vocals both fresh but also tonal shows the artist musicality. Great listen. ”

Svetlana Toropoviene - Lonely Heart [Review]

April 19, 2023 by Kreadiv Kesh

            Rating: 4 out of 5

“The vocals come off as both raw but clean at the same time. Reminiscent of Selena the way she croons her way over the techno style production. A perfect musical fusion of modern day techno and early 90s bop.”

              Review: 3.5 out of 5

“ The song immediately hits you with a birth of energy. Trancy vocals with guitar riffs that make you feel as if you’re being sucked in through a tunnel of musicality. Definitely a tune that makes you want to get up and dance. ”

                  Vacatixn - Da Waltz [Review]

                  Rating: 4 out of 5

“I like the intro and how the piano sets the mood. DA Waltz has a poetic delivery but also tells an engaging story. The beat has it on stance but everything comes together. ”

Francis On My Mind - I'm Alright [Music Review]

April 19, 2023 by Travis Erwin in Music, Commercial, Dance, Pop

                    Rating: 4 out of 5

“Francis On My Mind comes with a Pop Funk brand of energy that is impossible to not fall in on. There is just a hint of rasp in the vocals at times, and that gave me Miley vibes though nothing about ‘I’m Alright’ feels derivative. The track has a fresh, original vibe and an soaring uplifting spirit that will keep listeners coming back for repeat listens.

This song fits with so many different mindsets, that you’ll want to add it to numerous playlists.”

OnSake x Maia Malancus - Badass Girl [Music Review]

April 19, 2023 by Travis Erwin in Music, EDM, Pop

                      Rating: 3.5 out of 5

“OnSake, in conjuntion with Maia Malancus traverses the line between pop and a pure EDM sound. I hear some ZZ Ward type blues lurking in the vocal tone, and the attitude drips both in the performance and the writing. ‘Badass Girl’ could be a breakup anthem or a self affirming reminder of your power and worth.

The track did drop off for me a bit on the backend and I was left craving more of that early verve, but still a single with merit.”

’Stronger’ brings a soulful groove with a decided edge and tantalizing vocals that engage from the very start. Widding is a talent that will only continue to build and grow her powerful delivery so keep an ear on this rising star.”

Broadway B is passionate and the vocals sweep the listener up and along while the words make you want to shout AMEN! Not in a religious way, but in life -style.”

“This is one of those tracks that sticks in your head all day thanks to a catchy, undeniable hook. Landing somewhere between Pop and a Retro Disco Funk, Madison Davenport adds another layer to already impressive resume as a successful actor. The lyrical build is somewhat predictable, but again oh so catchy and easy to join in and singalong.

This is the kind of track that often catches fire so don’t be surprised to hear this single all summer long.”

Kate Thornbury - Napkins [Music Review]

April 16, 2023 by Travis Erwin in Music, Indie Rock, Americana, Indie Pop

                                    Rating: 4 out of 5

“Kate Thornbury’s vocals have a hint of Stevie Nicks thought he delivery style is a bit more Phoebe Bridgers or Brandi Carlile with an sound that falls between Indie Rock and Americana.

’Napkins’ starts with a bit of sunny nostalgia but takes a deeper darker turn as the track progress and the dreams that were once written on disposable napkins are long gone but the emotions of heartbreak linger on.”

Annie Bartholomew - White Chapel Woman [Music Review]

April 13, 2023 by Travis Erwin in Music, Folk, Singer/Songwriter

                                      Rating: 4 out of 5

“I was immediately intrigued by the subject matter and writing of this traditional Folk tune. Alaskan folksinger Annie Bartholomew spins a track detailing the hardships and survival of a frontier era sex worker.

In case you missed that, let me repeat it— we are talking about traditional Folk detailing the life of a Victorian era sex worker.

Originality points aside, Bartholomew unfurls her emotive vocal talent along with a lively musical build that really does tell a complete story in a short few minutes. And she does it with an engaging flair that will have me listening on repeat and digging in to hear more from this talented artist.”

Alta Falls - Tried To Forget About [Music Review]

April 13, 2023 by Travis Erwin in Music, Electro Pop, Indie Pop

                                        Rating: 4 out of 5

“An Electro pop track about losing touch, though not that deep connection, with an old friends. The reminiscing tone of this track was intriguing and I feel like this is an underexplored theme in popular music. Alta Falls delivers a classic synth Pop sound with a modern contemporary twist.

The talent is what makes the track work, though for me the writing and unique subject and resulting emotions truly single this track out in a unique and refreshing way.”
