Jake Dillon - Winner [Music Review]

September 03, 2024 by Travis Erwin in Music, Singer/Songwriter, Indie Rock, Americana

Rating: 4.5 out of 5

“Raw and emotional, Jake Dillon delivers this track alongside talented vocalists Giavanna. This track has an Indie Rock Singer/Songwriter vibe, but is also right at home in the the world of Americana. Well-written and delivered by both parties with an emotive force, ‘Winner’ is indeed exactly that.

Stripped down and spare in the best of ways, this is a song to both feel and listen to over and over again.”

Rhea Ray - Wild One [Music Review]

September 03, 2024 by Travis Erwin in Music, Pop, Commercial, Dance

    Rating: 3.5 out of 5

“A high energy Pop track with one foot planted in the retro sound of the 80s and the other here in the present to give the song a nice contemporary Commercial vibe.

Rhea Ray delivers a pleasing performance with ‘Wild One.’ The temp and build keep it all interesting though I did crave more lyrical depth overall. Still, this is a fun party time track about the roller coaster ride of infatuation and love and how we all crave another hit soon as the high fades. ”

Ben Chase - Bad Day To Be A Beer [Review]

August 30, 2024 by Kreadiv Kesh in Singer/Songwriter, Country

      Rating: 4 out of 5

“Ben Chase delivers a memorable country track with “A Cold Beer in the Summer,” capturing the essence of summer in a unique and relatable way. The song explores the dual nature of summer—joyful and vibrant, yet sometimes sweltering and intense—through the metaphor of being a cold beer in the heat. Chase’s storytelling paints a vivid picture of how summer can be both a refreshing escape and a time of introspection. The track is catchy and easy to rock to, with an infectious beat that will have listeners tapping along before they fully absorb the depth of the lyrics. It’s a song that effortlessly blends a fun, laid-back vibe with a more reflective undertone, making it a perfect addition to any summer playlist. Whether you’re in the mood to relax or reflect, “A Cold Beer in the Summer” offers a refreshing take on the season.”

Let Out The Pressure- Let's Stay Home [Music Video Review]

August 30, 2024 by Kreadiv Kesh in Hip-Hop, Conscious

        Rating: 2 out of 5

“The visual aesthetics of this track are definitely a standout, giving off strong homebody vibes that are quite appealing. However, the music itself falls short. The track suffers from off-key deliveries and poor placement of verses, which detract from the overall experience. Despite the strong visuals, the music lacks the polish needed to fully resonate.”

          Lujza -Don't [Review]

August 27, 2024 by Kreadiv Kesh

          Rating: 2 out of 5

“Lujza has a lot of emotional depth but perhaps doesn’t quite deliver the climax or resolution you were hoping for. The heavy emotions and dramatic tone are clear, but the overall impact might fall short, leaving you with a sense of unfulfilled potential. A rating of 2 out of 5 reflects this mix of strong emotional expression and unmet expectations.”

MOTHICA - Another High [Music Video Review]

August 23, 2024 by Travis Erwin in Music Videos, Alternative, Pop

            Rating: 4.5 out of 5

“MOTHICA unleashes an honest reflective style of fury on ‘Another High.’ The cycles of addiction are something most of us can relate to, though MOTHICA distills the poison down to a drinkable elixir.

Truth, honesty, vulnerability fuel every line on this Al Pop gem. There is a lot to unpack on this track, so add this one to your playlists and listen when you need to better understand your own shortcoming or the jacked up world around you.”

Nazzy the Mic - Cheatin [Music Review]

August 23, 2024 by Travis Erwin in Music, Rap

              Rating: 4 out of 5

“Nazzy the Mic is a talented young artis I have been keeping my eyes and ears on for awhile. Here in this track, Nazzy delivers a smooth unconventional love song. The flow is fire and while at times I craved less production to better allow the emotions to come through, the song is too good to let a small thing stop the world from digging in.

’Cheatin’ is a new twist on side pieces, and it comes from a voice the Rap world could use more of. Nazzy the Mic always delivers solid emotion especially for an artist so young.”

Estella Dawn - Hey Gina [Music Video Review]

August 23, 2024 by Travis Erwin in Music Videos, Indie Pop, Commercial

                Rating: 4.5 out of 5

“Estella Dawn is one of my favorite artist that submits to us here at LA on Lock. Dawn always delivers Pop gold with a sultry sexy side and evocative well-written lyrics. I will remain in her corner advocating for the world to sit up and pay attention because she is certainly an artist that deserves a meteoric rise.

’Hey Gina’ fits the accolades above and offers a nice energetic groove that has a touch of Bruno in the beat.”

Ethan Buckner - Wavering [Music Review]

August 23, 2024 by Travis Erwin in Music, Singer/Songwriter, Folk, Indie Pop

                  Rating: 4 out of 5

“LA troubadour Ethan Buckner comes with a smooth Indie Pop Folk vibe on ‘Wavering.’ The musical side has a tasty and evocative feel that ranges from smooth oceanscapes to a mor theatrical brand of brooding and though that build the lyrical progression pulls the listener along for the ride.

This is a track to listen to on repeat to pick up on all the emotions and nuance and I am here for it.”

Madison Taylor - Golden Image [Music Review]

August 23, 2024 by Travis Erwin in Music, Indie Pop, Adult Contemporary

                    Rating: 4.5 out of 5

“The worn out cliche of love is blind is one we’ve all heard, but MAdison Taylor takes that idea farther with ‘Golden image,’

The track showcases Taylor’s talent and the idea that we all view our love interests with rose colored glasses rather than under the glare of reality is one that is true and this track puts an entertaining Indie Pop groove to the idea and perhaps the dangers of idolization.”

                      Rating: 3.5 out of 5

“The talent and emotion carry this Alt Pop track. Joveth emotes the pian and loneliness on ‘Say My Name,’ and while the repetition of the chorus did carry on a beat longer than I wanted the overall track drips with feeling and passion.

Joveth is just beginning his musical journey and I look forward to seeing how high this talented artist can soar. ”

                        Rating: 4 out of 5

“Unresolved emotions and unrequited love are the earmarks of sixten’s latest release, ‘Atlantic.’ There is a touch of Stevie nicks in the vocal emotion thought he tone has more of a Miley vibe for me but really the sound the unique and stands on its own so comparison are not as apt in this case.

The lyrics convey the emotional distance and longing and the performance brings all of that home in a very digestible way making this an easy track to feel and experience. ”

August 23, 2024 by Travis Erwin

                          Rating: 3.5 out of 5

“Based solely on this track, Playlunch is best described as an Australian Red Hot Chili Peppers. The sound and cadence is very familiar with some of the RHCP’s biggest hits and while that does give instant recognizable, it also feels a bit derivative.

That said, every band has their influences and the energy and talent here do shine and lyrically this one stands on its own.

My favorite section came later when the track delved into more of a funk vibe and I am eager to hear where the band goes next.”

“John Calvin has just enough gravel and grit in his vocals to keep things interesting without that being all you can hear. ‘Saint Innocent’ is a heartfelt and well-written Americana track and the emotions are tangible in a way few songs manage to pull off.

This is a song to feel as much as hear and I am eager to experience more offerings from this talented artist. ”

You can feel the energy as it makes you want to hit the dance floor.TJ Wilkins and the chorus have a blended delivery with each note, I am excited to see the video because I visualized it in my head. ”

Hanna Andréa- If I Were to Drown [Review]

August 20, 2024 by Kreadiv Kesh in Alternative, Indie Pop

                                  Rating: 3 out of 5

“Hanna Andréa takes a moment to express herself through song. She makes the song related to anyone who is overwhelmed by life’s demands and struggling to stay afloat. The song is a nice chilled ballad with a little frustration in the lyrics. It is about sinking or swimming when life is stressing you out. Just when you think the song is a little depressing it gives a small amount of motivation around the 2:40 mark.”

“The vocal delivery is so soft spoken I struggled to hear, I found myself turning the volume up louder to form a connection. However, I couldn’t grasp the songwriting aspect. The features do sound good together and very well blended. I couldn’t tell who was who. My recommendation would be to adjust the vocal level so a listener can embrace the song.”

The track offers a timeless sound that could with ease fit within the musical landscape any of the last three decades. Her talent sells the emotions, and the production shines in bringing the musical energy out to compliment Honey Ironic’s stellar performance.”

                                        Lucky Lou-C'est La Vi [Review]

“C’est La Vie has a very peaceful sound to it. It takes you on a journey full of dreams and lover. The energetic pop song has the potential to be placed in movies that often tell love stories. I like the EDM mix around the 1 mark and as the song continues with its cuteness it gives the listener a little excited shift. ”
