Sleeping Lion - CTFO [Review]

August 12, 2022 by Kreadiv Kesh in Commercial, Indie Pop

Rating: 4 out of 5

“The snapping of the fingers sets the vibes for the song. It has a laidback yet sarcastic tone to it. Sleeping Lion lays out the moments when being annoyed exist and you just want people to chill out. If the phrase “take a chill pill” had a theme song this would be it.”

S-X - His Problem Now [Review]

July 29, 2022 by Travis Erwin in Music, Commercial

    Rating: 4 out of 5

“A soulful Pop groove, ‘His Problem Now’ is an emotional ode to moving on even though your heart isn’t fully in doing so. A track about trying to let go when you would prefer to hold on, the lyrical build is honest and vulnerable and the good bye is both heartfelt and gut wrenching.

I could see this track leading to a few reconciliations if the breakup wasn’t too harsh to begin with but either way the emotions are relatable for many of us. ”

      PENNY X -Faster [Review]

July 26, 2022 by Kreadiv Kesh in Singer/Songwriter, Commercial

      Rating: 5 out of 5

“If you ever met a nice person with a little aggressive spark then you will understand the delivery of Penny X. Penny X’s new single “Faster” is about learning when people don’t have your best interest at heart. The focus on everyone and tend to spiral out of control. When in reality it’s just a stupid game where they don’t know the name but they f*ck them anyway. This by far is my favorite hook to date. ”

Josh A - "SOBER (ft. Neffex)" [Review]

June 10, 2022 by Travis Erwin in Music, Commercial, Rap, Alternative, Hip-Hop

          Rating: 4 out of 5

“This hard-hitting track takes a look at what it feels like to be stuck in the heavy mud of addiction. Personal responsibility is one thing, but the systemic problem created by a capitalistic society is the culprit in the cross hairs here of this flow which blends Rap and an Alternative Rock style to deliver the message. This is a song that has the power to make people stop and think about this problem and the people fighting to stay above ground.”

            ANDI - Devil's Work [Review]

June 03, 2022 by Travis Erwin in Music, Electro Pop, Commercial

            Rating: 4.5 out of 5

“This new track starts out feeling a bit like the musical version of the teen Classic, The Breakfast Club but for those who have never seen the classic movie here is a bit from her publicist about the track ...

Andi’s new track, ‘Devil’s Work,’ is a piano-driven ballad ruminating on the heartbreak that comes from not feeling worthy. Andi’s vocals soar as her yearning falsetto lingers with the weight of her words. Not just a reflection but a call to action, Andi’s “Devil’s Work” speaks directly to those struggling with their mental health and self-acceptance.

            Andi goes into detail below:

’This song was inspired by the lack of open conversation about mental health. So many people portray perfect lives online yet are struggling behind the scenes. The lyric, “Her reflection shows her ribcage but she thinks she weighs too much,” portrays the reality of this day in age - especially on social media. There is a beauty standard that is so unattainable that young girls and boys are unable to see themselves clearly. I want this song to help people get through tough times that feel impossible to get through.

The line, “magazines have editors and makeup does the devils work,” is another metaphor for social media setting unhealthy standards. You aren’t seeing the editing of the pictures, posing, fake lighting; you’re just getting the final product. This is so unhealthy for young boys and girls.”

Luni - Summer Time Fine [Review]

May 28, 2022 by Travis Erwin in Music, Rap, Commercial

              Rating: 3.5 out of 5

“It’s that time of year again where friends gather poolside, or at the beach, or maybe on the shores of a lake. Wherever there is water and good times the Summer sun beckons those looking to hang out and find a sexy partner to sidle up with as the day close to an end with a glowing sunset.

Luni rides that line well setting the mood with ‘Summer Time Fine,’ a track perfect for singing along with and finding your personal brand of warmth.”

Drew Schueler x Kiki Halliday - Ruins [Review]

May 28, 2022 by Travis Erwin in Music, Adult Contemporary, Commercial

                Rating: 4 out of 5

“This duet is heavy on both emotion and talent. Drew Schueler and Kiki Halliday deliver emotive vocals to this well-written tracks about how we tend to linger far too long in relationship even when there has been irreparable damage to the foundation.

’Ruins’ is the perfect metaphor and this track truly brings out the nuances and layers of the human condition under such transformative times.”

                  Rating: 4 out of 5

“A smooth R&B/Rap blend for the warm summer days and those sexy poolside parties. Ice Meez and Trill Lee team on this track to deliver a soulful groove that hits as hard lyrically as it slides easily through the ears melodically.

Get out there with a drink in your hand a the sun on your face and ‘Swim,’ but don’t spill that beverage when your gliding to the groove.”

Oliver Nelson - Long Summer Nights (feat. Lilla Vargen) [Review]

Oliver Nelson and Lilla Vargen combine forces to bring this engaging track to your ears. A track that would be perfect for the quiet montage after a break up in a Rom Com, ‘Long Summer Nights’ is an sensitive ride that pulls at the heart strings. ”

The beat mixed with the energy and lyrics on the verses make for a perfect mix. There is also a backstory being told in the music video as well. You can truly relate to the story as well as feel the emotions Ridge gives in his delivery.”

“Bazzi asks the question, ‘Will It Ever Feel The Same,’ on this track about trying to move on from a shattered relationship and broken heart. Starting off with a raspy, yet tender and vulnerable delivery the track takes on more of an edge halfway through and much like our minds it feels like a roller coaster as he deals with the inner turmoil and second guessing.

A track with nuance and heart that you can listen to over and over again while digesting the complex thought process of moving on.”

Doppe & Kokke - Glad to be Alive [Music Video Review]

May 05, 2022 by Travis Erwin in Music, House, EDM, Commercial

                                Rating: 4 out of 5

“Originally from Sweden, but now making music from Switzerland, Doppe & Kokke team up with Justin Erinn on ‘Glad To Be Alive.” This EDM track starts on the dark side but takes on an energetic and uplifting tone to bring out positive vibes and a immersive beat t pull the listener in and along for the ride. A track that will both get you moving and thinking. ”

Jamie Miller - It Is What It Is [Music Video Review]

May 01, 2022 by Travis Erwin in Music Videos, Commercial

                                  Rating: 4 out of 5

“Jamie Miller unleashes a track which feels a bit like the male counterpoint to GAYLE’s smash hit ‘ABCDEFU.’

Miller boldly delivers ‘It Is What It Is,’ with more of a pure Pop sound and a touch less attitude, but he does so with confidence and energy and that makes it both powerful and engaging. A fun track to join in and belt out as the build is infectious, and easily hooks the listener. ”

Anna Thompson x Nicky Buell - AM I THE DRAMA? [Review]

April 30, 2022 by Travis Erwin in Music, Electro Pop, Commercial

                                    Rating: 4.5 out of 5

“A dark twisty track about revenge, or at least contempt between best friends turned lovers, and ultimately into exes in every possible way. Both voices are uniquely talented and sell the emotion well. The funky groove is sinister in its composition, adding to the brooding vibes of the track.

’Am I The Drama?’ is the question of the day and this track makes it clear the drama is tangible between these two. ”

Maddie Poppe - One That Got Away [Review]

April 30, 2022 by Travis Erwin in Music, Indie Rock, Commercial, Adult Contemporary

“This track made me think Bruno Mars meets Taylor Swift. The beat and groove are all Pop Funk, but lyrically, I hear some comparisons to the emotion Swift routinely delivers. Maddie Poppe incorporates the best elements of both on this track.

’One That Got Away’ is a snappy single that pulls the listener along with smooth grace and ease. As we enter the cusp of fun and sun, this track delivers the solid summer vibes we all need.”

                                        Kelaska - Tightrope [Review]

April 29, 2022 by Travis Erwin in Music, Indie Pop, Indie Rock, Commercial

                                        Rating: 4.5 out of 5

“The need to fit in and conform overcomes us all at times, but it is easy to lose yourself while trying to please the world around us.

Kelaska offers an emotional track about that very struggle. Walking that ‘Tightrope’ is a dicey proposition but falling in on this track is anything but as the build and emotional vulnerability sell the track early before the tempo shift and a sort of fierce determination takes hold. ”
