MrMMyish feat. Moelogo, RoxXxan & Lavida Loca - "Money Dance" -Music Video Review

August 25, 2021 by Kreadiv Kesh in Music Videos, Music

Rating: 5 out of 5

“This is a different level of Money Heist. MrMMyish’s brings in a team of features for his new single “Money Dance”. The production will make you want to dance and hustle at the same time. As a visual remake of the show “Money Heist” the crew are scene carrying out a plan to get money. The support of female lyricists really carried this song to a whole new level.”

    Rett Madison - Emily [Review]

August 25, 2021 by Travis Erwin in Music, Singer/Songwriter, Americana, Country

    Rating: 4.5 out of 5

“Rett Madison delivers the rare combination of power and emotion in her vocal delivery of ‘Emily,’ and the raw strains of a broken or breaking heart are evident in every single line.

Lyrically, the track wades the same water as ‘Jolene,’ but from a different angle. Genre wise the track feels like a Pop/Americana tweener. Both the writing and the performance shine, and I can’t wait to hear the rest of Madison’s album due out in September.”

      Lasko - Down [Review]

August 25, 2021 by Travis Erwin in Music, Rap, Autotune

      Rating: 4 out of 5

“Some tracks are all about the groove and vibe. ‘Down’ is one of those songs that instantly hits you with a mood and rhythm that pulls you easily along.

Lasko brings an attitude that feels almost a smirk behind his flow. This leaves the listenr with a feeling not unlike a conversation with a friend giving the flow that ‘it’ factor that is hard to manufacture because it is either there, or it’s not. Lasko has it for sure. Add this fun summer track to your playlists and enjoy the good times.”

        Club Noir - Reload [Review]

August 23, 2021 by Travis Erwin in Music, Rap

        Rating: 4 out of 5

“Club Noir is locked and loaded with there new track, ‘Reload.’ The flow is expressive and rhythmic, carrying the listener along for the ride, but it is the strength of the writing and the multifaceted meaning of the words that truly is what elevates this track for me.

Taking a simplistic approach to the lyrics, the track could be about reloading to fire more, but it also can be taken more metaphorically to be about gathering yourself up for another run. The no quit mentality makes this a motivational track of a sort and one that needs to be on such playlists.”

          Nadia Kamrath - Confessions [Review]

August 22, 2021 by Travis Erwin in Music, Indie Pop, Folk, Americana

          Rating: 4 out of 5

“Nadia Kamrath possesses the uncanny talent to perfectly convey emotion with only a few words. ‘Confessions’ is an emotive singer/songwriter vibe reminiscent to Phoebe Bridgers in style, but Kamrath certainly has her own tonal quality and style that stands out.

The track is about one friend catching deeper feelings and offering up the emotions behind such a realization. The sentiments ring true and genuine and it is an easy track to fall in on.”

Lil Bean - Mob Ties feat. Jackboy (Prod. Einer Bankz) [Review]

August 22, 2021 by Travis Erwin in Music, Rap, Hip-Hop, Conscious

            Rating: 4 out of 5

“Lil Bean is joined by Jackboy on this smooth build and flow. ‘Mob Ties’ delivers an easy groove to ride with its strong writing and emotive flow. The combination hooks and holds the listener and keeps you leaning in on both the lyrical progression and beat.

The Bay Area rapper has a new album that is already gaining national attention so jump on board with this talented artist and be one of the first to buy in and recognize this rising talent.”

Elephant Castle - French Food [Review]

August 21, 2021 by Travis Erwin in Music, Indie Rock, Indie Pop

              Rating: 3.5 out of 5

“We all spent some time daydreaming about food and dining out during isolation, and this track is a fun dreamy ode to wishing for something we can’t have at the moment.

Elephant Castle delivers a unique take and spin on the difficulties of quarantine and how we as society are use to instant gratification. The smooth build and chantlike vocal arrangement pull the listener along and leave you hungry for some savory ‘French Food.’ ”

August 20, 2021 by Travis Erwin in Music, Adult Contemporary, Commercial, Indie Pop

                Rating: 4 out of 5

“Appearances are superficial but how we feel about ourselves and our appearance goes deep to the bone and this track is about finding the beauty within ourselves and being comfortable with that outer shell as well, because it all goes hand in hand. Estella Dawn has a big powerful voice and an emotive delivery to bring out the emotions of this well-written track. ”

Most Wanted - Hood Anime [Review]

August 19, 2021 by Travis Erwin in Music, Hip-Hop, Conscious, Neo-Soul, Adult Contemporary

                  Rating: 4 out of 5

“Most Wanted offers up this track that simply hits different. The build and progression is a departure from the norm, and the construction here works well thanks to the energy and beat production. I did struggle a times to stay with the lyrical flow, but the groove and energy made it come to life for me despite that fact.

I appreciate the raw talent and willingness to put something out in the world that doesn’t feel derivative of every other track on the radio.”

August 18, 2021 by Travis Erwin in Music, Electro Pop, Adult Contemporary

                    Rating: 4 out of 5

“Riding a talented vocal tone, and a strong emotional set of lyrics, ellie d. offers up a new single, ‘Reach out.’ The track highlights a relationship that has faded and now one party is wondering if they should reach out and see what’s up, or if they should let go and move on. This is a dilemma most of us have faced, and the track feels both real and emotional. ”

Everybody Loves An Outlaw - Rebels & Outlaws [Review]

August 13, 2021 by Travis Erwin in Lyric Video, Music, Commercial

                      Rating: 4.5 out of 5

“Strong writing often feels so obvious and simple, that you wonder why no one has ever written and performed the lines before. Everybody Loves An Outlaw is a band that is quite adept at creating such brazenly simple, yet stunningly captivating lines and their new single ‘Rebels & Outlaws’ feels like a track you have heard before because of this brilliance. The classic talent is almost timeless in sound making the single feel like a hit from the very first listen.”

                        Eric Punzo - Criminal [Review]

August 13, 2021 by Travis Erwin in Music, Commercial

                        Rating: 4 out of 5

“Eric Punzo offers a couple of different vocal styles on this track, and both are engaging. When an artist fully commits to their craft, they sacrifice other parts of their life to spend time alone honing their craft. This song is about sequestering yourself and living like a ‘Criminal’ in self-induced solitary.

Artists are not the only ones to do this, as sometimes we all simply pull away to protect ourselves from others so the nuances of this track have a wide reaching resonance. ”

August 13, 2021 by Travis Erwin in Music, Electro Pop, Adult Contemporary, Commercial

                          Rating: 4 out of 5

“Anna Thompson is definitely, ‘Hot Now,’ and this track takes a few different angles on what that means to her past and present. From facing the judgmental people she knew in high school, who snubbed her and now want to be friends to the fake and flashy friends fame attracts, Thompson takes the emotion of not knowing who you can trust and who wants to be friends for the right reasons, versus merely using you and your rising stardom to their own benefit. The track is about being caught in the middle of these two dichotomies. ”

“Transmission Lost offers a big bold Indie Rock sound. Leaning toward the Alternative or even Grunge sound f the early 90s, the band offers strong melodies and a lyrical build that sweeps the listener up and in. Hailing from Houston, Texas, Transmission Lost deftly utilizes influences of varying genres and sounds, to fuse together a rock and roll sound that is engaging and immersive. ”

Caroline Romano - The Hypothetical [Review]

August 12, 2021 by Travis Erwin in Music, Electro Pop, Commercial, Pop, Rock

                                Rating: 4.5 out of 5

“Is the idea of a perfect romance and relationship real, or more of mythological utopia that lives on in ‘The Hypothetical’ daydreams of our brain? That is the question Caroline Romano unleashes with this high energy almost demanding track.

The lyrical hooks and razor edged melody slice through the psyche on this track making it an attitude and vibe as much as a commentary on how we fantasize our relationships going.”

                                  Kiera Selbe - I [Review]

“Kiera Selbe began writing he lyrics of ‘I’ at thirteen, before she really knew what love would feel like. Flash forward and the now 16 year old talent has a bit more life experience to draw on which enabled her to complete the song and bring it to life. Her emotive talent, both in the writing and the performance, stands out from start to finish making Selbe a name to watch as she grows even more and blossom into the full out star that she is destined to become with such rare talent. ”

Jackson+Sellers - Waste Your Time [Review]

“Jackson+Sellers reminds me of Lucinda Williams both in sound and attitude. That take no shit, take no prisoners vibe rises to the top of this jaded, yet righteous track.

’Waste Your Time’ is an ode to whatever brand of idiocy you’ve dealt with, though most people will apply the sentiments towards a bad relationship. The rowdy edge to this track brings it to life and makes the pointed commentary land hard right on the chin of the time wasters of this world. ”

#LAOnLockExclusive: Chriz Gabriel- "Potluck" [Music Video Review]

August 09, 2021 by Kreadiv Kesh in Music Videos, Music, Hip-Hop, Jazz

“Nowadays people tend to run when they hear the word “potluck”. It usually means their job is encouraging them and their coworkers to contribute a food item to a work office dinner. We all know everyone can’t cook and everything isn’t safe.

However, Chriz Gabriel is cooking up a different vibe in his new single “Potluck” that you are sure to want more of after one listener.

Chriz fuses bay vibes and London life with a Hip -Hop and Jazz melody that allows you to dance all the way through. Initially one would expect to see a bunch of adults cluttered around but “Potluck” visually creates a vibe that displays the talent of kids and a universal track that anyone can ride too.”

Electra Mustaine - Society Talk [Review]

August 09, 2021 by Travis Erwin in Music, Electro Pop

“Electra Mustaine certainly has the musical DNA as the daughter of Dave Mustaine, but her style and sound certainly differs from the bands her famous father was part of. ‘Society Talk’ conjured comparisons to early Gwen Stefani for me though there are certainly other contemporary Pop Stars that inspired Mustaine’s sound. That said, the writing delivers a pointed message taking this track beyond catchy status and into the realm of societal commentary. Still, te arrangement is one that is hard not to fall in and join because it is pure musical energy and attitude.”
