“Three Second Chances brings the energy and a throwback spirit on their new track, ‘Living Out Loud.’ If P!nk put out a disco track I imagine it would sound a lot like this though the vocals here have a bit of 80s tone and style as well. The track still manages to feel contemporary and easily swept me up and along for the build. ”
“Dutch duo, Vicetone, drops this danceable EDM track but don’t let yourself think this is a catchy beat with throwaway lyrics. The tone is light and airy but there is genuine emotion at the heart and a spirit of home to the build and progression. This is the kind of track that really grows on you with each listen so add it to your playlists and dig in, because this song as well as ‘The World Has A Heartbeat,’ and if you listen in you will both hear and feel it. ”
“Leroy From The North gives us a track that feels a bit like sitting on a bar stool and having a beer while listening to your buddy tell you about the girl he just met. You could call this Southern Rock or Americana as it has both Petty and Sturgill vibes for sure. Easy to listen to and find your own emotional relevance ‘Push’ is a track I will be adding to several of my personal playlists. ”
“An energetic beat and build contrasts the darker nature of these lyrics. Noak Hellsing unfurls ‘When The Shadows Go Home,’ a track about trying to connect in a world that is increasingly divided and fake. Being content alone with your thoughts is uncomfortable for many and the contrasting layers help to express that set of emotions quite well on this track.”
“We have featured WACHO! before and this talented artist is back with, ‘In Case You Wonder.’ The lyrical groove pairs nicely with a melodic groove and rhythmic beat that instills an easy groove. This Argentinian now calls Fort Worth, Texas home and as a Texan myself I appreciate the diverse musical talent that calls North Texas home. You will too once you add this vibe to your own playlists.”
“Man vs Monkey teams with the vocal talents of Dutch singer, Bymia to unleash this emotive build and infectious beat. ‘When I’m 22’ is a lyrical jewel that will make you think and reflect regardless of your current trips around the sun count. The music will make you move and the words will make you ponder what it all means in the best of ways. I can’t wait to take a dive in on the rest of this album and see where the entire selection of songs takes me.”
“This is one of those tracks that just sneaks in and takes over forcing the rest of the world to step back for a couple minutes while you bounce with the beat and chant along with the flow. The timing of Truent’s delivery and the hard beat work together to simply make you feel every line and word. ”
“Tudor and Caroline Byrne team up to deliver this emotive vibe. ‘Wish I Didn’t Miss You’ build with a sultry bit of defiance over the first minute before settling into a more sensual groove and mood. This is a track that conveys the emotions well, and is nuanced enough you can glean new feelings with each listen. ”
“This track from Social Drag feels a bit like a 90s throwback. Could have been released then as Country with an edge, or a Sheryl Crow-esque track about the emotions of failed relationships, but that is not to say the single is dated. It’s not.
And while ‘Remind Me’ doesn’t quite fit the Outlaw or Americana sound of today’s Alt-Country, labels are not what good music is about anyway, and neither are timestamps. This track simply conveys the emotions it was intended with solid talent behind it so for me or anyone to place it in a strict category is a waste of time.
Listen and enjoy, or feel and wallow if you prefer, but either way the intent of the song was established and delivered, and in the the end ... that’s all that matters in the subjective world of expressive art. ”
“This husband and wife duo, deliver a passionate and funky little groove. The Locksmiths have a sound that reminded me of Nathanial Rateliff brand of Americana Soul a bit. ‘2 Handz’ also has some classic rock elements from a bygone era but still manages to sound and feel contemporary because of the artful songwriting and playful back and forth between them. ”
“A nostalgic track that harkens to the Pop Punk sound of the 90s with a infusion of Contemporary angst. You can hear a dozen musical inspirations but in the end it is Alexx Bean’s vocal talent and emotional prowess that brings the track to life. ‘Right Where You Left Me’ will have you singing and bouncing along and thoroughly convinced you’ve been listening to this jam for years now. ”
“Reemerging after a difficult breakup is tough, and comes on a unique timeline for everyone, though the magical realization that suddenly you are going to be okay is a true revelation and that is exactly what this track captures.
Someone Else’s Rain delivers the song with a smooth easy groove and ‘Cry Them For You,’ is a timeless emotional jam as a result. Heartfelt and genuine this is a song that will have lasting power as it transcends both time and genre. ”
“This track is an ode the dreamers, the chasers, the ones that defy the odds and achieve their goals despite the odds and the critics.
Will Solomon hails from Kentucky, but now calls Seattle home, and you can almost hear the influence of both places. There is a rustic Americana vibe that John Prine would be proud of, as well as an attitude and defiance that could be found in the 90s in the grunge sound. This track certainly isn’t grunge, but there is a subtle edge and bold resistance to what others say that is certainly Rock and Roll at its heart. ”
“Sammy Adams has already defied the odds and bounced back from a life threating accident. Such near death experiences can bring out the best in artists and that very well may be the case here. ‘Attention’ is an energic track that will get you moving and feeling good so it is a perfect add to any uplifting playlists. You will be singing along to this track long after the last note has went down.”
“Bo Baskoro delivers a track that has some Commercial, Pop elements but also is rooted in an emotional foundation more reminiscent of singer/songwriter type tracks. ‘Holding You Over’ is about that relationship that isn’t bad but isn’t exactly forever either. Especially for one half of the equation that always seems to be searching for something better and using you as a placeholder.”
“Connecticut might not be the most common place for a Hip Hop artist to merge from, but Cruzz is certainly putting out notice that quality rappers can come from anywhere. His lyrical aptitude and smooth easy delivery combine to create ‘Going Up,’ a track that is all about vibe and confidence.
The flow allows the writing to shine, and the arrangement lets the emotions land with a deliberate force that many so-called hard-edged tracks, fail to achieve. Make no mistake this track has punch, it just happens to deliver it with unnecessary bluster or the false bravado that so many other tracks rely on to get their intent across.”
“Lauren Rintoul takes us on a breakup journey though this isn’t necessarily a track about heart break and the ache afterward as much as it is the guilt and uncertainty of being the one to end it and wondering if you did the right thing.
’Lost Art’ is an emotive and honest look at knowing you aren’t in love but also wanting to be a good decent person and handle the break up in the right way. Delivered in a tender, singer/songwriter kind of way the song is easily relatable.”
“The rhythm of the beat hit me first and then Glo Laila’s soft and vulnerable vocals took over as the driving force of the track. ‘Deal’ is a relationship song that puts the prospect of love on legal terms with a contract and set of rules that unfortunately rarely if ever applies toa affairs of the heart. And the realization that there are no guarantees in love ahs left us all feeling as vulnerable as this track feels. ”
“This track from Mati is exactly what the title says it is — ‘Life Notes.’ Delivered in a smooth easy groove about the ebbs and flows of life and the emotions we all deal with on a day to day basis the track simply hits.
I’m tempted to call this easy listening Hip-Hop, but only because it is delivered in a calm, steady flow that is easy to fall in on. Some might confuse the term easy-listening for boring elevator music, but this track is anything but boring. It is real and genuine and speaks straight to the human condition. ”
“Written in the height of Covid lockdowns amid a landscape of widespread global depression, Filippa Borgamn gives us a story of sorrow that rings not only as plausible, but outright believable.
’Broken Man & A Shoe’ takes elements from Elton John, Folk, and Pop to create a track that is as full of life as it is sadness. This is a song of the human condition created by a talented artist that transcends any one genre or style to create an artful and meaningful emotional response.”
