Caroline Romano - girl in a china shop [Music Review]

November 17, 2023 by Travis Erwin in Music, Mixtape, Commercial, Alternative, Pop

Rating: 4.5 out of 5

“Caroline Romano is a force, an Alt-Pop star on the rise, and one hell of a songwriter. We have featured Romano on several occasion though ‘Girl in a China Shop’ might be her best work to date.

A track of self awareness and staring in the mirror o face the facts. THis is something we all need to do time to time and now we have a soundtrack when we want to cut the bullshit and be real to ourselves. ”

Rachel Newnham - Jealous [Music Review]

November 17, 2023 by Travis Erwin in Music, Pop, Electro Pop, Commercial

    Rating: 4 out of 5

“Comparing yourself to others, and even worse, the social media persona of people pretending their world is perfect is a dangerous thing. ‘Jealous’ is about those feelings of envy we’ve all had when looking at other peoples looks, relationships, and experiences. But we never know the full story or picture as outsiders, and chances are they are jealous of us in some way as well.

Rachel Newnham delivers the track is perfect Pop glory.”

M'Lynn - Better Me [Music Review]

November 17, 2023 by Travis Erwin in Music, R&B

      Rating: 3.5 out of 5

“The track takes off with the chorus and is carried throughout by M’Lynn’s strong emotive vocal delivery. ‘Better Me’ is a soulful R&B groove about honing in on yourself and your needs to be the best version of yourself.”

Billy Raffoul -Drive You Home [Music Video Review]

November 16, 2023 by Kreadiv Kesh in Rock

        Rating: 5 out of 5

“Is hard to love someone from a far especially when they have battles and addictions you can’t save them from. “Drive You Home” is about always being there for someone to pick up the pieces as they self -destruct. Billy Raffoul careful string of the guitar gives a soft and emotional track.”

Paige Corwin -Unlearn How to Love You [Review]

November 16, 2023 by Kreadiv Kesh in Commercial

          Rating: 4 out of 5

“When you fall in love with someone its often times hard to let go. Paige Corwin’s “Unlearn How to Love You” is about finally letting your heart love someone and embracing every moment with them. Falling love is easily but when your heart is forced to shift and let go its hard. This commercial track isn’t depressing but an emotion pop ballad.”

Speech -Debelle 11:11 [Music Video Review]

November 16, 2023 by Kreadiv Kesh in Hip-Hop, Conscious

            Rating: 3 out of 5

“I was more drawn to the visual aspect than the song overall. I like how Speech Debelle is placed as a muse for people to paint their own vision. As a listener it was hard to understand the lyrics outside of the 11:11. I would suggest add this video as a lyric video so people can musically engage just as they are able to visually engage. ”

November 16, 2023 by Kreadiv Kesh in Alternative, Indie Rock

              Rating: 4 out of 5

“As we prepare for the holidays Celia Berk is definitely an artist to add to the holiday playlist. I admire the soft tempo yet the ability to mix all of the holiday classics while still maintaining the original yet beautiful elegant sounds. Celia has a great dynamic range that will put anyone in the holiday spirit. ”

                Ev Malone - Elevate [Review]

November 16, 2023 by Kreadiv Kesh in Conscious, Hip-Hop

                Rating: 3 out of 5

“Ev Malone has a poetic delivery. I can picture him sitting down with a notebook taking his time on every verse. Elevate is an inspiring song that empowers people with encouraging verses and opens up positive images. I like how the tempo doesn’t change regards of the elevated scenarios given.”

                  Kevin Quigley -Summer's End [Review]

November 16, 2023 by Kreadiv Kesh in Indie Rock, Singer/Songwriter

                  Rating: 3 out of 5

“ I like the pace the artist has. The song “Summer’s End” takes you on a journey of memories but also makes you excited to what will happen when summer is over.

Kevin Quigley speeds up the tempo creating a more rock oriented sound in what would at first come off as folklore or country.”

Jaydii x Supreme Khay - hot soup [Music Review]

November 16, 2023 by Travis Erwin in Music, Rap, Trap, Hip-Hop

                    Rating: 4 out of 5

“Jaydii kicks off the first verse on ‘Hot Soup’ before Supreme Khay comes in witht he hook and later verses. THe high-energy track feels like vintage Beastie Boys mixed with some Wu Tang funk and quirk. Both flows are delivered with an engaging tone and verve that refuses to let you off the hook.”

T-Lick - Thru the Depths of the Moonlight [Music Video Review]

                      Rating: 4 out of 5

“T-Lick takes his time to deliver a poetic Lo-Fi Hip-Hop track. This track tells an epic story of loss, struggle and redemption. Its simplicity gives us just enough to build a connection. The emotional descriptions provide engagement and the video allows us to really understand the mood.”

Kuttem Reese - "Phone Lights" feat. No Cap [Music Video Review]

November 16, 2023 by Kreadiv Kesh in Rap

                        Rating: 4 out of 5

“The connection is toward the end. I was close to declining this but the end caught more attention so I played it back. Kuttem Reese starts out with a nice piano melody to introduce this emotional rap track featuring No Cap. Phone Lights is about the transition of life and its experiences. Sometimes it take life altering moments in order for someone to change their ways. Despite being surrounded by phone lights the pain and memories are still there. The hook is powerful and relatable to a lot of people.”

Leo and The Lioness - Only Love [Music Review]

November 16, 2023 by Travis Erwin in Music, Holiday

                                Rating: 4 out of 5

“Leo and The Lioness bill this calm, tranquil track as a Christmas song and it certainly has the peace, love and happiness vibe that the holidays install. However, ‘Only Love’ is universal’ and applies to every day and season of the year. Sure the track mentions Christmas but really it felt bigger than that for me.

The vocals are tight and kept me leaning in on the lyrical build. A song of hope and love. ”

Razor Braids - She [Music Review]

November 15, 2023 by Travis Erwin in Music, Indie Rock, Indie Pop, Punk

                                  Rating: 4 out of 5

“Queer Garage Rock influenced by a blend of the 90s Indie sound, old school Punk, and a splash of contemporary Pop. If that sounds like a musical smoothie that you’d like to taste straight from from the blender then let me introduce you to the Razor Braids.

The band’s press release describes them as ... a Brooklyn-based, queer, female and non-binary identifying rock band that combines a heavy punk energy with an indie rock vulnerability culminating in passionate live shows and a dynamic sound anchored in a 90s alternative ethos.

That discriptionis apt but might play the soft Pop vocals that are a big part of the track ‘She,’ a song about being present and allowing yourself to die headfirst when you spot that person that you believe is perfect for you. ”

“Gaby K reminds me of Amy Winehouse with her raw yet pure song. Her gorgeous new single “What Have I Done” is an afterthought of a good yet bad mistake. You think you are having a good time until the feelings and confusion kicks in. The visual displays her in a debate with herself and her thoughts. ”

Dax - Life [Music Video Review]

“Dax delivers some powerful and related songs. His latest single “Life” is about the unpredictable aspects of life. It’s about being lost but realizing your faith and founding yourself. The song has a upbeat tempo which doesn’t make it depressed but inspiring. ”

Thorslund - Firecracker Man [Music Review]

November 12, 2023 by Travis Erwin in Music, Rock, Alternative

“True Rock and Roll ain’t’ dead, but it is real damn hard to find.

The glory days of Whisky a Go-Go and the other iconic venues along the Sunset Strip might be behind us, but Thorslund keeps the Hollywood tradition of spawning hard rock with an edge alive and well.

Thorslund does a damn good job of living up to the reputation of LA rockers.

’Firecracker Man’ is a hard charging rock song that works today and would have put them in elite status back in ‘85. Let’s hope they usher in a new era and find the broader audience they deserve so while appeasing the Rock Gods happy with their in your face sound.”
